It just seems japanese because they apply alot of Asian fighting styles and cultures. Monks. Chinese Shaolin, and Japanese Ninjas.

Samurai showdown is probably the most underrated fighting games ever! It should get more love than it does. To me it's better than kof and should be 2nd behind street fighter series! It's a very deep fighter

Mr. Birdie I have to agree with this. I love Samurai Shodown when I was a 7 year old kid. SNK Playmore better create the future #SamuraiShodown7 in 3D by including English voice actors. Samurai Shodown deserves some English voice acting other than hearing speaking Japanese. I would recommend Johnny Yong Bosch to play the voice of Yoshitora because his voice sounds perfect for Yoshitora's personality.

Man, why didn't they make Haohmaru's surrender look like the victory pose where he throws the sword up and catches it in its sheath, but like He misses. It lands straight on his head. Hilt's sticking out from the top of his skull. Then he falls over.

OK, I'm shocked you could pull off Kusaregedo's second Disarm move (the Super version of his throw) because that is quite a complicated move to do (I think it's a 270 motion, then neutral, then U+CD)

Rasetsumaru (7:48) and Suija's (10:12) Fatalities are probably the most graphic. Yunfie's own (12:35) is probably the most unique. The 3D "Samurai Shodown Sen" also had violent finishers.

Nah. Don’t want it. I never liked that idea because SS and SC are very very different series in terms of character design, gameplay, atmosphere, etc. They wouldn’t mesh well at all. Just because they are both weapon based it doesn’t mean they would make a good crossover. I say that as a huge SS fan and I like SC as well.

I always saw Samurai Shodown and Last Blade as the Mortal Kombat for SNK. Not many Japanese fighting games have this much graphic finishers.

GNF18 I like the variety. Some killed themselves, some were killed by some mysterious force of nature, and some just gave up and ran away. Like some of the finishers, it helped give them all more character.

Is a suicide command. You can forfeit the round by doing this: ← → ↓→ ↓ start (Back, Forward, Down-Forward, Down, Start). Suiciding fills up your Rage Gauge for the next round.
