Genjuro had a pretty cool backstory. I wish more character cutscenes had been included in the Samurai Shodown franchise. What would've been really cool is if they had created a storyline between him and Jubei from Ninja Scroll being related as they have the same last name 🤔.

Kibagami actually common cool name, kiba(fang)kami(god), Jubei Kibagami actually inspired from Jubei Yagyu another famous swordman beside Miyamoto Mushashi, Genjuro became inspiration for character of younger version of Makoto Shishio from manga Rurouni Kenshin, while Mushashi was inspiration for Haohmaru but Haohmaru visually modelled after Hyakkimaru from manga Dororo :D

I was so curious to see SS3 as I have and played the second Samurai Shodown a lot. You play pretty good albeit playing on medium difficulty, I actually prefer the second one and think it's way better now that I have seen this. Some character models look more detailed but I think some effects like the blocking particle effect and specials look less detailed. Everything is bigger and in your face showing you the attack combinations at the bottom of screen, showing you percentages, like Ukyos level those foreground things getting infront of the players. The levels don't look as good take Nakorurus original level it's snowy and dull compared to the lush greenery before and they just made another character copy paste like her, Hattori Hanzos level is dull and bland actually pretty much all the levels. The music although many in SS2 were very slow only some levels had fast music were better in my opinion. Also they completely messed up Galford, his original colours and took away his dog?! Kuroku just takes form of the player so he does not have his original attacks like in the SS2, also they completely ruined the art style of Kyoshiro, Genin who is Basara now? Wan-fu who is Gaira now? Also there may be more detail in character model but the actual animations dont look as detailed, I would say Ukyo, Genjuro, Haohmaru, and Nakoruru stay true to their original look. Also why would Genjuro drop his stance when he backs up? It is not true to Kenjitsu you always maintain your stance and sword point at your opponent so I'm not crazy about that either. Also there is only 12 characters still like in the second one. Why didn't they add onto it? Also who is that red haired guy is that Kenshin? Still fun to watch I will watch now your Haohmaru video.

2 is best , feels more traditional especially the music because they added a rock style in 3 and on. SS2 is more polished it doesn’t feel like a quick sequel it has a lot of character. The part when you kill an opponent and they get carried out in a casket is dope then the bg guy pops in and says “terrible atmosphere” knowing the amount of death around in those times. SS is a serious game for adults. I’ll always play it.
