Probably THE best character actor of all time, and one of the best actors of all time period. This man is a class act, and a true talent. He could read the back of a cereal box and we would all still be captivated.

Robby Jackson, John Arnold, Jules Winnifred, Zeus Carver, Mace Windu, Frozone, Coach Ken Carter, Nick Fury, Stephen Warren, Whiplash (From the movie Turbo), Richmond Valentine, and Major Marquis Warren are all the characters I’ve seen Samuel L. Jackson portray and there is never a false note of acting in any of these performances he deserves this award head-on but I do hope someday he will win a competitive Oscar

I never understood why they don't have these honorary ones on the actual telecast. It makes no sense to me.

What a fabulous actor. He has enriched so many lives through his talent. More importantly he clearly has a huge heart. Through his contributions to so many charities he touches so many more. Thank you!

My favourite movie growing up was Jurassic Park which had Sam Jackson, then when I got older, Mace Windu was my introduction to Star Wars, then he played my favourite antagonist in a video game, Officer Tenpenny in GTA San Andreas one of my all time favourites games , then of course Sam's introduction to the MCU as Nick Fury, he's easily my favourite actor of all time, still great to see him doing movie roles ,always has a positive, chill vibe about him, he's the man 😃 So happy to finally see him win a Oscar, well deserved 👏👏👏👏👏

This is the Governors Awards. They stopped handing out honorary awards at the Oscar ceremony since 2010 I believe. Usually the governors awards are held in November and the Oscar ceremony is usually held in February/March.

It sucks that Will Smith’s moment overshadowed everyone else’s at the Oscar’s. Samuel L Jackson deserves every second of this moment!

@@misstriciak True 💯 but I don't think he should've received it if he had such an attitude towards the award... someone else who truly wants it could've had that spot instead. Angela Basset has been fighting for an Oscar for YEARS and is FINALLY getting one next year, but she could've gotten one here... or gave one posthumously to an actor who was gunning for it... since he had a take it or leave it attitude

According to me Rita Moreno, Glenn close and maybe after Many years Emily Blunt and Hrithik Roshan not joking at all

This should of been EDDIE MURPHY getting an HONORARY OSCAR instead. He came into the business "before" SAM, and has achieved just as much, if not MORE.

this oscar ceremony was ghetto af....Samuel deserved better....venue looks like a rented out high school auditorium
