Thanks for the video! I was able to get mine to charge after following the instructions. I kept the power button down longer too and it worked fine.

You sir are a diamond. My sons tablet (the 10.1 though), I did this and it worked a treat. It was taking three days to charge out of the boot loop to full. I did your suggestion last night and by this morning it was at 68%. 1 happy son.

Needed 2 goes at this and the 2nd time I held the power button down for 2 minutes. It worked a treat! Great tip, thanks a lot

I had tried all the other advice for this issue and nothing worked. So I figured I didn't have anything to lose with popping the back off and doing your suggestion. And so far so good. It is currently charging. And I told my son not to completely kill the battery in the future. That when the screen dims and he gets the warning he should shut it down and plug it in. :)

OK well this just worked for me this morning but not without challenging my patients. I removed the battery completely to clean the contacts before seeing this video, then did all the steps shown w the battery still not screwed in & nothing happened, still going on & off like before. I did these steps 3 maybe 4 times still nothing. Then I disconnected all the connections I could see inside the tablet, tried again after reconnecting them, no dice. So I figured I needed a new battery I ordered one on Amazon for $15.00. Then so I wouldn't loose the little screws I replaced them in the tablet and snapped it all closed and just for the hell of it plugged in the charger and the damn thing started charging like it should, HAHAHAHA figures. Anyhow I canceled the new battery order and all is good. Thank You GunGuy for the video, Stay safe out there & be HEALTHY... Cheers

I have a Samsung tab2 pro and recently the battery would go from 100% to empty in less than 5 mins if in use. So far these instructions seem to fix the issue. Thank you very much.

Best video on this topic. Mine works now! GunGuy,, your's is the only one that suggests discharging the motherboard. Also, I learned that you have snap the back back on to test it. Yes, the removal is the hardest part, but you gotta put it back on first.

mine completely discharged and it would do nothing when plugged back in! no light no icon. I read that the motherboard holds a charge. I unplugged the battery for 30 seconds and yay! it's charging!!!

Hello, question for you. After i got the case open, there was a tiny v shaped copper looking part loose flopping around.It looks like it could be for behind a button or something. Wonder if you know where it goes. Thanks......

Had Samsung Tab 2 7.0 with sim card and its just on recovery mode and tried installing software but it just shows the battery and charging stuffs then now its just shows the boot but doesnt go to the main menu what should i do ?

FINALLY!! I GOT IT AFTER ABOUT 7 OR 8 TRIES. I WAS ABOUT TO GET A NEW BATTERY BUT I NEVER GAVE UP AND KEPT ON TRYING. NOW I KNOW NOT TO COMPLETELY DRAIN THE BATTERY. I WAS HOPING UP AND DOWN LIKE I WAS A KANGAROO AND RUNNING AROUND LIKE I HA TEN CHOCOLATE BARS. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

+GunGuyGallagher the back was a pain. I thought it worked because the screen came on and the charging icon appeared. That said, I left it plugged up about 5 hours, only to return and find the battery only at 1 percent. So, it is not charging. Stinks

+Numbnuts sometimes the charger can be too low of amperage or you need to plug it in and unplug it several times in a row to get a good initial charge, good luck!

Only a few seconds should discharge any residual charge. If the tablet is old (more than 4 years) you may want to install a new battery while you have it cracked open. They're like $12 on Amazon. Good luck!

hi my tab wasn't charging properly the battery sign came up and 1 bar would show then just cut out , I bought a new battery but nothing is happening just blank screen .

thanks took several hours but did work

I had a black illuminated screen. This fixed mine when nothing else would. Give this a try!

bro my tab shows a battery icon...a bigger one that we usually see when we charge it after make it switch off....but main problem is that it stucks at that screen,some circle is their in the mid of battery icon and nothing happened after.... it all happened after something went wrong during my rom update....now my computer doesnt recognize my tab and also i am not able to do anything on my tab...no boot menu,no logo sign,no downloading mode...the logo screen and downloading screen was coming out,but when i went to download my stock firmware in pc it may got switch off and now thats the problem.....bro i beg you please if some way is their please tell me....please i need you...i have galaxy tab 2 p3100

i gott a problem w my tab its charging withou the charger and it wont turn on

just a note: i had these symptoms and it turned out i was using the wrong charger - it was for a samsung phone and not powerful enough...you have to use the original charger (or something of equal power or better).

I did it the 1st time and it worked. But then the tab disscharged when i was watching a video and turned off. When i tried to charge again normally like a phone the issue appears again like this. And i tried this like the first time but it didnt worked. And i dont know what else to do to fix it again

How do you take the case off.

i did everything he said but when i plug it in , shows the battery for a second then shuts off, and keeps repeating himself, any ideas?

My old battery was replaced a new battery one will it work?

Hopefully I'm not jinxing it. Went through he full process you described. The fix seemed to work for me. Before the fix it would operate normally. For the most part. The problem was that the charging percentage would stay at 1%. No matter how much time it spent on charge. Interesting bit was after I discharged the battery. It powered back up with 75%. Taking the back off was a a struggle. They really didn't want us solving problems ourselves did they? lol

Seems to work. thx 4 all. Samsung ACME Devices sucks.
