Just bought LG C3 and i am super happy (coming from samsung 32" from 2006)

How is the clarity on the s90c? I have a c2 and s95b, and while the colors are more vibrant in game mode on the s96b, my c2 feels alot clearer, especially in motion. Perhaps faster pixel response time? Could be pixel density since its smaller? But was also wondering if its due to the antireflective coating the qd oleds have.

I commented on a KZreadrs page Sunday about the gaming issues and he got MAD. But his video was sponsored by LG so I wasn’t surprised.

I have 55 inch s95b in living room and 77 inch c1 in gaming room. C1 is a great tv by itself however im just missing the colour of the qd oled. Once u go qd oled its hard to look back)

These comparisons are top notch with quite a few important details gone over that other reviewers seem to miss. If you are gaming on latest generation consoles or PC with all the goodies like 4K, HDR, 120Hz, VRR and ALLM, that is great! BUT... What if those aren't the only things that you play? What about the many titles that are on the Nintendo Switch and other previous generation consoles that so many people love to play that are 1080p or lower in resolution and strictly SDR only? Other reviewer giants seem to forget about that crowd of people. How do these TVs handle SDR brightness and colours? How well do they upscale lower resolutions? You see, that is something I very appreciate seeing in these comparisons! Kudos for covering this! 👍

@@PadPoetI've had many Sony TVs. They've had the best scalers for decades. I like the A80L I currently have a Samsung and am between the S90C and A80L.

Gradation is excellent on the qdoled.

I originally was going to get a 65 inch C3 but with all the clearance sales going on I ended up getting a S90c for almost $600 less and after seeing so much positivity on how good it is for gaming I'm very glad about my choice as I will have a gaming pc connected to it.

No one is addressing burn in rates are higher with QD OLED vs W OLED

Dope vid… Ive had the C2 and can say it’s a beautiful tv. Main reason im switching over to the Samsung is for more streaming options and I personally don’t see much difference with the Dolby stuff. I’m curious what the HDR10+ has to offer and I’m excited to compare to my 2018 75 LED which still shows amazingly

Can someone shed some light on the motion issues with the Samsung? I have been hearing a lot of concerns and the LG C3 stands out when it comes to motion.

Doesn't the LG C3 maintain blacks better when not in a dark environment, though? I thought that QD-OLEDs suffered an issue where they reflected more ambient light than they absorbed compared to W-OLEDs? Or is that an issue that the S90C doesn't have compared to other QD-OLED displays? I'm trying to figure out which type of display will work best for me since I also use my PC for productivity and content creation. I need a screen that will still look good if I have to turn my overhead light on to write notes or draw concept art in my sketchbook.

This is true for all qd oled’s, so yes, the s90C will have that issue

Hope we get a Samsung QDOLED 42 inch once. Love the LG 42 inch. Would replace it down the line though

Please, share the settings you’re using on both TVs. LGs on HDR Game and HGIG sometimes look dark and lifeless compared to Tone Mapping ON. It would be helpful if you shared settings used on both TVs to compare gaming. Thanks.

Agreed. Anyone with an lg oled knows this and it should have been specified at the start. He did mention subjectively it didn’t change things much but it would have been nice to show it.

Thanks, what a great video! I'm playing with the LG E7 65'' and it has been good about 5 years, but you already highlighted things that newer ones by the LG are still "oldish". I have also aging/burn in -problem in the E7, so I ordered the s95b with the 5v extended warranty. Furthermore, I believe that 5 years in OLED technology is quite reaching max lifespan because pixels are aging faster, and my advice is not to buy any OLED without extended warranty :-) In my E7 over 4 years of usage, pixels have bad aging issues. Uniformity is bad, banding stripes and dark spots/areas, like the whole center of the screen having darker panel areas. I had two choices to go: QN90B or S95B. I just wanted to go for OLED because of the contrast and better black :-) BTW I already ordered the LG SE model but after watching your videos I changed my mind and choose to go for S95B. Luckily I was able to change my order and they had only one S95B in stock :-)

My C7 lasted about 4 years before I finally started seeing burn in, people think you have to leave a TV on continuously to cause it, nope.... It's just wear and tear and that's the trade off we're making with OLED.

First thing I do on every TV. C3 isn’t dim just next to a QD OLED it can look dimmer because it’s about half as capable brightness wise almost so it’s a bit more dramatic in camera when you have brightness differences.

What is the best tv to play videos from hard drive?

I need a new TV and am convinced on the S90C. It will be interesting if the C4 gets the G3 panel though. I'm not sure how LG can compete with the S90C. I feel like for the price it'll remain the king throughout 2024. LG needs to keep the WOLED on the G series, and just lower the price on the C4 with slight improvements over the C3. My only reservation is that I do think LG quality is better than Samsung these days. I went through a couple Samsung PC monitors that had problems until landing on this LG Ultragear. It doesn't matter if the Samsungs are better, this LG works correctly. I love it.

same concern with Samsung. I mainly play on desktop PC, and whenever I'm looking for a monitor, Samsung always has. good ones but a lot of times there are issues. even the warranty here on my country, Samsung gives 1yr the other big 2 gives 2yrs

I bought a s95c and I'm happy with the brightness of the SDR, but the HDR is terrible. I used to use the OLED CX with DTM turned on, now I turned off the HGIG on the S95C and turned on the Active DTM and the movies are still dimmer than on my CX, the same goes for games. Yes, bright objects are really bright, but the rest of the picture looks dimmer, is this normal? (And yes, I turned off energy saving and other improvements and checked it hundreds of times)

Top brightness means nothing in side by side comparison, especially something captured on a camera and then viewed on a screen. Brighter will always look more saturated in comparison. And max brightness that might look better on a video, could be blinding in a dark room during real world use, while the dimmer screen might itself be too much for real world use, so both would be normally turned down to brightness levels below even what is pictured. Even 300 nits in a dark room is like a flashbang, let alone 1000 nits.

Need some help, buying a new tv for my living room, it will mostly be used for Movies, Sports, streaming Tv shows and other content. I have a Samsung S95B in the basement for gaming. I’m thinking the S90C, C3, or A80L. Which tv do you recommend? Either one of the ones I mentioned or do you have another option? Thanks

I would recommend to try LG because it is more durable hardware and software

I have a 65” 95b in my bedroom. (Used to be in my man cave). I originally ordered the LG C3 to put in the man cave. The LG has a very nice organic picture and the colors are nice. But im def a brightness guy and after QD-OLED the c3 just wasn’t doing it for me. I have a 65” LG C1 in our living room but no one really watches that tv. I don’t play games anymore really either. But the LG C3 brightness just wasn’t making me happy enough. I thought about the G3 but $1000+ more for some brightness increase wasn’t worth it. Seems the Samsung s90c is the sweet spot for what I want. So i just called Best Buy to do an exchange so they will be delivering the s90c and picking up the LG c3 for return. Both tvs have their pros and cons but for me it was the brightness levels and colors for The QD-OLED that did it for me.

Should I keep the 55" S90C I got (unopened) or return it and get the 55" LG C3 for $200 cheaper? I still can't decide.

Which would be best for just watching satellite TV (DirectTV) with mostly sports, 60% (basketball and football) and movies 25% (streamed through a laptop) with a little bit of PS 5 Gran Turismo and Uncharted mixed in, maybe 5%? Currently have a Panasonic ST60 with no issues that I absolutely love but need a bigger screen and will move that to the bedroom. Looking to go 77.

DirecTV has some pretty rough picture quality so both TVs can't help much there id say Samsung tends to make it look a bit more sharper which can help the feed quality. As for gaming S90C is a much better gaming TV overall. S90C is brighter for SDR like live TV as well if that matters.

I almost bought the c3 last week, just going by everything I'd read in past years about the LG's, and figured I'd do a little more research just to make sure and I'm glad I did. I didn't realize how good the Samsung has gotten. FWIW I get a great picture through DirectTV, compared to any cable I've ever seen. Only issue is that in a storm you lose the feed but then I can just use the streaming feature from the PC I have hooked up.

Just got my C3 and its plenty bright for me. Not regretting my purchase as my wife and i both have sensitive eyes to brighter TVs

personally i don't like the Colour preset that samsung apply on the OLED, it's too vibrant and everything like skin tones looks red. even on my 75" Q90R the red's are over saturated. I use a 42" C3 for Gaming because i prefer the Absolute Blacks and stuff for Games over the QLED.

With all the SuperBowl sales going on this is a great time to buy a TV and my Panasonic plasma finally gave up the ghost so it was destiny. Went to Best Buy after reading about OLED S90C and what a great near picture it was to the more pricey S95C. Personally for $1,600 I am more then satisfied with this Samsung OLED. I watch a decent amount of sports and I don’t see how it gets much better than this. I’m certainly satisfied.

I bought the C3 and returned it within a few days because it developed a green line. I purchased the Samsung because of these reviews but the black on my Samsung is a gray color. It is not true black is there anyway to fix this in settings because as of right now, the C3 has a much better picture quality.

Only thing is Missing from s90c is Dolby vision other than that the tv is way better then c3

Hey man, i recently got 1800€ from the insurance of my broken OLED C9. I would like to go for the S90C, but i have 2 questions. Is the Hye Sync App supported on the S90C and wich of both TV´s has the better black?

I returned a S90c because my wife and I did not enjoy the movie and tv motion and processing. Its a personal thing but we didn't like it and the picture felt flat in some ways as well. Ended up with a G3 and am a 100% happy. However for gaming the S90 was amazing and if you're gaming more than 50% of the time I'd get that over other options.

​@@exhibitD79Did you try reducing the judder? Under picture clarity settings if you set it to custom there is an option to reduce the judder and blur. Try setting the judder all the way down.

@@exhibitD79 IMO a manual judder setting of 2 was the best result that I got out of it. Now on the LG I prefer a manual judder of 3 or the built in cinematic option. If you're still in your return period see if a store will let you try changing some settings in person to compare

@@TheAntifluencer On the S90c I had to reduce colors because Samsung way over does it out of the box. I'm a 100% happy with the colors on the G3 and I am not missing QD-OLEDs colors 98% of the time. I found that by boosting colors in game mode to 70-75 on the LG its almost as colorful as the QD OLED and I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything when the LG does everything else so well. Yes I'll agree QD-OLED is a better panel but the way LG processes and works compared to Samsung to me is more important. And yes the A95L should be the TV of the year pricing aside

Hard to drop $2k on a TV that caps out at 200 nits in Game Mode. I know people have said you get used to it, but that’s even dimmer than my Nintendo Switch OLED and my budget 2019 Samsung. I’m sure it’s ok if you ONLY play games in a completely blacked out room, but I feel like I’d want a little flexibility.

Did you ever figure it out? I've been worried about samsungs color accuracy, contrast(3d effect), motion processing(less blurring with moving objects @ 720p/1080p) and being too bright on basic TV streaming/movies compared to the c3(i dont game with tvs). I have cx now in my bedroom and completely satisfied with it..but looking to buy a living room setup this weekend for movies and streaming...

Just got my 77 c3. In a nut shell i simply care for overall accuracy and precison vs samsungs approach in regards to color pop and excessive brightness. Dont get me wrong the qdoled panel is the future, however i belive the 2nd gen panel requires some polish in the processing and accuracy department. Lets see what the 3rd gen panel has in store. So color is still an issue with LG then huh.. I have an LG Nanocell that is washed out, and wanted to upgrade to a better TV. I wanted to give LG another chance, but now I see I would have the same problem. I will go with a Samsung or a Sony.. wish Samsung had Dolby Vision

I have s90c 65' on my living room and i can tell you is stunning because of the brightness, and for videogames HDR content is exquisite, i also got C3 55' for my bedroom, all i can say is a wonderful tv, contrast and blacks are better and more natural than the saturated colors on s90c, audio on LG C3 is better, WebOS is 50% faster, and fall in love with the Magic remote. C3 : more versatile, videogames and movies or series, i recommend this TV for a bedroom or a dark room, you gonna love watching this TV on movie or videogames night alone or with your gf, is just top notch S90C: stunning TV, for a living room you and your guests gonna love it, you gonna beat sun light with that brightness, this tv for just video games is crazy Both are crazier tvs all i can say go to the store and go fall in love with both of them and use them, make your decision after using them for a minute, both are top best oled tvs for that discounted price rn on april 2024

Besides the green line, which tv do you prefer? Deep blacks are important to me. What tv does it better overall?

Besides the price difference, the thing that made me never consider a qd oled is the brightness. It’s supposed to be as bright as a qled. Having briefly had a qled, the brightness even toned down bothered my eyes too much. I didn’t want to bother with another set that bright.

Got the Samsung s90c but the lg c3 is a great tv as well

im watching this on a w oled monitor and i noticed a few things. as the samsung was brighter but the lighting was washed out... look at the definition of the football players the samsung has a lack of shading making the charicters look quite fake.. also i didnt find the colors as belivable. look at the sun when teh glare hits the screen.... the light on one is washed out the other looks so much better also was the samsung in 60hz mode it seemed blurry in the football game . i also noticed you where using the custom game setting on the lg and it just hapened to be the darkest setting in the line of presets.. .

@@halfaloafajudo9194 Yep noticed that too especially when he said samsung has better processing xD at 4:41 he switches to FMM and its just an inch dimmer than samsung, im not even starting about motion smoothing, many threads on reddit saying s90c does poor job at it, and obviously no upscaling and low bitrate content was talked about or shown so we can assume LG is better at that. And he wrote that samsung kills lg on netflix.... sheesh

@TechWithKG it's clear lg was worried about burn in by pushing the extra brightness and color like they could have done. It makes sense but still sucks. This is also the issue with them offering these massive warranties they will try finding work arounds to make it so they don't have to worry as much. Which In turn will hurt areas of the image due to them trying to get as little warranty claims as possible. It's all business and we may see them slacking in areas for a while longer until they have confidence in the product. Issue is all of these changes makes it hard for them to trust there own product lol.

One thing I’m interested in is how bad is the aggressive ABL when playing games? Will the games continuously dim?

If you don't enable "Peak Brightness" there will be 0 ABL even on full whites. I find it plenty bright without peak brightness, dimming was really annoying me on the C1.

I'm waiting to see if MLA comes to the C4

Highly doubtful they want the G series as the center of attention, if MLA comes to C no one will want the G.

the Samsung is brighter but still would pick the lg c3

It's essentially the same picture as the c2 and c1 with C3 having internal updates. Picture quality and brightness on S90c were better. My eyeballs processed a clearly better image and makeup than the C3. The 2nd gen Qdoled is better than nonMLA tech which is in the c series. Now G series is where they put there newest Oled tech called MLA(micro lighting allay) along they also put a nice price tag for there proud work and best overall TV than competition. They're all wonderful Tvs tho, With 1 being slightly better than the other.

​@@JohnS858Who told you that BS? S90C its same last years model unless you buy 77" and if you happen to buy 55" or 65" you basically buying last years S95B 1 gen units so not everyone can accommodate 77" tv especially if room is not big enough

77in and 83in are the only 2 guaranteed to have gen. 2 panels in the S90c. So Tvs under that inch ratio, you may feel safer getting C3. Maybe I should've included that in original statement, but the rest stands true in the 77in. I've tested. Can't speak about 55 and 65in. So take it with grain of salt and if u can show me otherwise, I'm all ears.

@arturaszaleskis8907 so what's BS? There's no MLA in c series? G series is the best and it's there latest Oled tech. 2nd Gen Qd is superior to Oled. 77in and 83 only have 2nd gen panels for Samsung. I mean let's hear it. What's BS?

My 77in s90c looks better in every way than the 77in c3!!!! That's a fact, opinion, eyeball in/of the truth. Where's your claim or reasonable proof? Like what I'd your response, you must know something I don't? I'm ALL EARS... waiting, LoL

@@getoveryourself2212 KG didn't show what his settings were for the C3 before the comparison. I don't think this was a level playing field.

Reminds me of like an Android OLED vs Apple OLED comparison.. I find C3 colors being much much true color/tone, as Samsung a bit more unnatural (to vibrant) as with mobile phones. Give a thumbs up for C3 giving us a DTS on OLED displays.. now DTS.. if 95b or 90c had DTS it would be my first pick, now again, I am truly confused. Simply can not get wrong with anyone of them, I‘d say XB gamers 95/90, PS gamers C3

If the Samsung had Dolby Vision and DTS output, I'd buy that. But since I play games and also watch a lot of movies, I'm going with the C3.

Since when the real world is so dim and flat looking like the C3? The Samsung looks more "natural" to me

S90C is a better TV overall. Its more capable with color and it has higher peak brightness. It is a mismatch IMO.

@@jayman3575 ever get to compare S90C motion? My a80J with smoothness at 1 is perfect for movies…but I heard s90C even with dejudder at 1 has soap opera vs Sony smoothing of 1 bc of Samsungs stronger interpolation.

No Dolby vision and no 83 inch. Means no Samsung for me. I have a c2 83 inch and it’s plenty bright enough I love it

I don't like how LG TVs handle Dolby vision anyways. They enable "Real Cinema" and some other settings with no way to disable them.

Everone saying about 77 inch version of S90C but what about 65? Is than also worth over C2, C3?

Nope. Some people even went through the lengths of sinkholing all DNS outbound traffic for Samsung updates, even with that there are no guarantees.

Samsung oled fixed the black crush every damn oled had and no one noticed or just simply ignored

KG really good job 👏 I am still hearing about the burn in issues on qd oled easier than woled. Is it true?

I think maybe LG is better at preventing it but in a real world scenario the burn in risk is probably very similar and most people won't experience it for a couple of years with regular usage.

Is that means in 2023 you cannot get proper TV because freaking Oled can't handle it, what a crap, my old qled Q7F lasted about 5 years but I bloody thrown everything at it like 30 hour constant playing, watching movies, youtube and basically anything and it lasted liked a rock and now in 2023 they releasing tv which you need more babysit rather playing on it or watching movies, what a crap time to buy a new TV

I just returned my s90c. Oversaturated mess poor upscaling tv and inteligent mode on picture broken. Also very cheap and flimsy plastic and nowthere near to lg quality. LG is more accurate and quick enough. Also picture went black, then tried to change colour space and it was latest firmware. I never had a problems with lg tv and work straight from the box not like samsung.

What game he was playing in the video it looked Japanese or Chinese

Look at the mountain which has better detail. I get that some prefer color vibrancy/saturation but others, like myself prefer image clarity/detail (not to mention other aspects). To me it seems like LG for picture clarity/detail or Samsung for color vibrancy/saturation if those aspects of image quality are top reasons for your buying decision.

@@TheAntifluencer Lmao how are you literally the only one that doesn't understand the QN95C has the exact same processor 💀😂. Also in comparison it got destroyed just like the A95K when it comes to gaming and HDR impact. LG lucked out now they still deal with terrible uniformity on old WRGB tech. A95L will be a movie tv that's it. The Samsung neural processor is amazing. Your salty tears are enjoyable.

@@TheAntifluencer Pure stupidity I guess. There's already side by sides. Even against the Q900C the S95C even had brighter highlights no mini led has better clarity just like no W-RGB oled can compare. Your only hope is Sony. You feel left out this year 😭

I'd like to see the difference between an S90C with a Gen 1 panel and an S90C with a Gen 2 panel. I returned my S95B because of skin tones. I have a 77 inch S90C now. It is much better, but it is too big for my bedroom.

I just can't conceive the skin tones looking all that different compared to other TVs and that issue alone being worth of repackaging the whole thing and then returning it.

for 77 inchin, S90C is $2500. S95c is $3500. Is the S95c worth the extra $1000 over the s90c?

All you need to do is activate the PC mode on the C3. After that you can play on Vivid picture preset, it's way brighter and still accurate.

Not directly but I have a few still shots I believe I have to take a second look through my footage. It’s tough to show in motion though because of copyright and whether or not it’ll get claimed despite it being fair use sometimes it just gets flagged and kills the entire video which is why most of us don’t even bother showing TV shows or movies unless it’s stills.
