This is the review I've been eagerly waiting for. I am currently using the S22U and was very curious about how different the S23U camera would be. My conclusion is that there is not a big difference than I thought, so I decided not to change it.

IDK if it is because my s22u is super early release model, but I struggle to get past 4 hours of screen time before reaching for a charger. Also it heats up and starts lagging in basic tasks.

Does s22 ultra have dual camera video recording feature on its default camera?

Great video Ben, always enjoy your take on things. I have tested both the 22 and 23 in regards to photos of small objects, not macro but baseball size artefacts, 12 mp is better on 23. If you set it to 108 mp with detail enhancer on, and if you were to zoom in and I mean a lot the 22 looks like you would expect pieces look larger but fuzzy would be the most accurate word I can think of, but with the 23 at 200 mp zoomed into almost the same amount/percentage due to larger MP, well it looks more like acrylic painting, blotchy but sharp lines, just looks wrong... but with that said, it does make the objects sharper! But you can't see this until you are zooming in beyond 80%. Just thought it was interesting. Both great cameras, 23 takes better photos most of the time but there is occasions where the 22 produced good photos too, but I shoot differently then most, as I am looking for sharpness and detail of the artefacts, not trying to get the SLR look. I think the 23 videos produced better skin color, I think a little softer, but more pleasing, in my opinion.

I'm currently on the Note 8 looking for an upgrade finally. I think honestly I'll aim for the S22 Ultra. It looks phenomenal alone from an old phone like this

I am S22 Ultra user. Just bought it last year. Still loyal and amazed with S22 Ultra's specs. Those who havent bought S22 Ultra, i think you can get S23 Ultra. However, i am still with S22 Ultra with its great quality.

Why do i see a wider picture on front camera when clicked. What settings i need to change?

Some youtubers were claiming the s23 ultra makes faces look wider compared to the s22 ultra. I didn't notice that in your video, but did you notice that be true on any other pics you took?

Good comparison, although the fact you have to zoom in 400% to see a small difference in detail is testament to how good even last year is. Nobody looks at photos 400% zoomed in

I love taking close ups of the moon and looking at things far away especially if camping or at the lake it's amazing! But I find pictures to never be that great compared to others. I don't understand all of the options though so need to educate myself on that.

Why was I seeing the 22 ultra as way brighter than the 23 ultra hes showing but he was saying the opposite? No one shows how you can zoom in on the moon either which I LOVE to be able to do.

Until 1:37 I definitely preferred the video and photos of the s22, but after that when we talk about detail and focus, the s23 wins.

As s22 ultra user (and lover :D ) I can confirm it was, (I live in Finland and 5.1 came on at May)

Absolutely no difference I'll be waiting until they come out with something significant before exchanging my phone for a new one In march I'll have had my s22 ultra for 2 years. It still looks and feels brand new , and I'm using it all the time! * at home I still use my old note 9+ that I've had for almost 5 years, Sometimes I think maybe I should've just kept using that one 😂 it still works so well

i have used the s22u for few mos and updated a month after the s23u was released... s22u is such an amazing phone... however, i like the s23u more

Dude it's not all about the sharpness you should compare dynamic range, colors, noise... etc, not everyone zoom on photos if any.

Literally the worst comparison. The areas where the S23U significantly improves is in video stabilization, low light video as well as 8K Video. It's all about the video on the S23 series. You didn't compare ANY of that.

There was a few bits about the stabilization, but yeah,nothing in depth about it

I always skip buying the next release of a phone that comes out and wait for the one that comes after, The differences never seem worth it 🤔🤔🤔🤔 currently own the 22 ultra, Will see what the 24 ultra brings, I'd like to see something more than just camera upgrades though!!! Well evidently this video shows that it's not, it's of course a much improved phone with battery & performance & video but overall the phones are far too similar to be considered a game changer. It's more like a 22.5

Looks like you took pictures of unknown objects on 2:43 it looks lights (ufos) maybe

Good comparison. I'm not a golden eye, but there can be seen some differences between these two. But. Surprisingly well does S22U still do it's job, meesa still very happy with my s22U and don't feel the need to upgrade to s23 :)

I thought the 23 was on left and looked better. Then realized and was happy with my phone

If we analyze the comparison, reality has come to the s23 ultra, the exaggeration of the colors in the s22 ultra has been eliminated, so it's definitely better!

If you are owning s22 ultra then i feel the earliest u can upgrade is with s25. Otherwise there is not much reason to change.

I have both an s22 u and a pixel 7 pro and the p7p definitely beats the s22u in photography, i don't like how the s22u blurs out some objects on the standard 1x photo mode, where as the p7p has everything in clear focus. I can definitely see an improvement in the s23u in both photo and video over the s22u. I am actually looking to jump to s24 u when it comes out.

Iv got the s22 ultra I'm not upgrading for a few years yet because the differences are so small it's not worth the money

I had the regular s22, and now s23 ultra. I'm pretty sure my s22 took better pictures, why? I'm pretty sure cause s22 has better post processing than the news s23's, they need to update the software. Of course the s23 ultra 200mp mode is unbeateble.

Actually I had to trade my s23 ultra and go back to s22ultra.Camere is a miss on s23.Cant compare with the superior photos taken using S22 ultra

The front camera of the s23 ultra is 12 pixels. Isn't that a disadvantage?

I watches another review about the front camera they said it's much better on the s23u although you have less megapixels, it's much more detailed compared to the s22u because the s23u uses a technology which is more advanced which makes the front camera better after processing I owned both s22u and s23u, the s23u front camera is much much better, it's significantly better than the rear cameras 😅

Do you know what phone camera is best with built-in beauty filters? I actually have to do this just so that the photo will look like me, what the human eye actually sees. In my opinion, most phone cameras are terrible. They 'uglify' people, due to the poor quality.

U may be right... i got the 21ultra for wife cos she loves the design more coming from A53, then i got myself the s22ultra cos the trade-in value for my note 20 ultra was trash and its almost new so i decided to give it to my sibling, its came as a surprise to me that i took same pictures from my porch with both 21 and 22 in same exact time and condition in all zoom levels at the same target and realise only thing they did was brighten and sharpen the s22ultra a bit more nothing more nothing less and when i showed those pictures to pple they mostly lean towards the s21 ultra pictures, i felt so used by samsung 😂.
