So if my samsung q80b has peak brightness is 1500 nits then step 1 and 2 will be 18 steps in HGIG mode enabled? Although the sun disappears in 17 steps on both steps and becomes barely visible in 16 steps so which is right?

Its not important for sun to disappear for 14 clicks on this tv? And same goes for checkerbord on xbix series x? It has to be 800 nits?

The 75q80b is absolutely amazing! I’ve only been watching it for about 4 hours and I can’t believe how great HDR looks! The new Mandalorian episode is a great way to check the settings . Especially the great black level. I bought and returned the 65qn 85 and only kept it for about 3 days. This looks way better. .

Just a suggestion for those having trouble adjusting the picture. I followed every setting the KZread folks recommended but it was still too dark. So I changed the picture to standard but lowered the brightness significantly. Then I put it on warm 1. The picture is now perfect for my eyes!

Hi I have a QE55Q80BATXXC model and when using VRR with PS5 the screen fades to black and then image appears again. This happens randomly. Turning off VRR fixes the issue. Anyone has an idea why is this happening? In resume what seems to happen is that TV turns off/on game mode intermittently. I had a QE55Q80T before (replaced with the new model because of warranty) and didn't have this issue (only flickering). Thanks!

I bought the U8H and had problems with the sound cutting out, so I brought it back to get a new one. The salesman at Best Buy talked me into the Samsung Q80B since there were no more U8H Tv's in stock. Don't get me wrong, the Q80B is a nice TV, but the black levels, color accuracy and bright levels of the U8H blow the Q80B away. The U8H is a mini LED TV, Where the Q80B is a QLED. The U8H black levels, sharpness and brightness rivals that of a lot of OLED's that cost twice as much. Look the U8H reviews on KZread. You will be hard to find anyone who has anything bad to say about that TV. Just my two cents.

@@goochma I have the 55" U8H in my bedroom. And yeah, there is a downside to this TV as well. It has terrible posterization and color banding in lower quality content. If all you watch is HDR then it's fine. But realistically speaking, you can't watch just HDR content.

@@MrCougar214 You are absolutely right. I picked another 65" U8H up because I honestly thought it was a much better quality picture than the Samsung Q80B. I was wrong. This thing looks horrible in SDR. Dark scenes are atrocious. Everything looks very blocky and the color banding is pathetic. Unless you are watching HDR content this thing is almost unviewable to me. The thing I don't understand is that commercials look really good but the actual TV show I am watching looks really bad.
