Thanks Mike for your honest and funny review! I agree with you on all the points, but I think I will be forced to get one because I'm obsessed with good looking things, and I can't find an alternative of this size. I'll be pairing it with a Mac Mini M1 hidden under the desk and I'll hyde every single cable I possibly can. Originally I was considering getting The Frame 2022 in 32", but then I found out is just Full HD! Who does that, Samsung? Keep up the excellent work!

Heyyo! Love the review ☺️☺️☺️ just wondering if the black bezels are uniform throughout the border? And are the speakers front facing or back firing?

You know the bottom bezel is thinner than the other 3 which are all symmetrical! On the sound, the speaker grills are actually on the back of the monitor. It doesn't sound like the it's coming from the back but it is when you start poking around :). Thanks for watching and subscribing.

I have a question, are there native tizen os apps available for Zoom and Udemy? Or do i have to use these apps from their websites on the web browser available with this monitor? If so, are they performant?

The apps are all entertainment focused it seems. I searched for both but couldn't find either of them. You can definitely use the web browser. It's not a great experience but it's doable!

i "was" considering this as a replacement to my 24" samsung monitor BUT having seen several reviews (and your's being the nail on the coffin), i am now reconsidering just getting a 43" QLEDTV instead as my monitor. that sound coming from the speakers sounds sooo bad, my Tab S9+ easily puts that to shame. thx for the review. new subscriber here from Indonesia

Hi Mike. Lovely video! Just so you know my bed and office is in a bubble trailer. Sooo… having a monitor and tv in one is dream come true. I don’t always want to watch streaming from my laptop cause that feels like I’m at work so after I can lounge around with the remote. It’s coming next week so I’ll let you know how it goes.

I think it would make a great monitor bearing in mind the trade off for the price point. Compared to average, everyday monitors the quality is solid and color accuracy good. Compared to high end ($1000+) monitors the color accuracy is weaker. In other words, if you're editing for fun or enthusiast level videos, it's gonna be awesome. If you're editing $10,000 video clips professionally you probably need something higher end!

I’d look at some like like this Samsung (LS32A700NWNXZA) or LG 32UN500-W in the $300s or the LG 32UN650-W in the mid $400s. They all seems to be reasonable quality. Personally, I’ve used the lower price LG monitors for years and always found them pretty decent.

Hey there! I don’t have the monitor in the studio anymore but I don’t typically do any special calibration or anything, I simply adjust to what looks good to my eyes 😱

I actually have been waiting for something like this: I now will have a tv and monitor in one in my home office, less hardware to achieve what I want, and its cheaper than Apple’s offering!!! Ordered yesterday-now the wait begins….

You'll love it. I've been using it daily and the more I've used it the more it's grown on me! Biggest deal for me is the height adjustability because I'm so tall, makes it so much comfier to work with.

Yep, it's definitely a little more glossy but sheesh is it pretty!

They changed it in the usa. So now there is a full size hdmi a usb c and two usb a ports plus it swivels 80 degrees and it cost $399.99

I'm really looking to buy this monitor, I'm a web developer and i have a small room so I'm planning on using it as TV as well (kinda love the wireless display idea) and would occasionally use Samsung dex too, I'm really glad that i saw this video of yours, you gave me something to consider, but i really want you to suggest me, based on my use case, is it good for me? And if not do you have any suggestions for me? PS: i loved this video so much that i immediately subscribed to your channel, please never stop making these amazing videos, you're amazing!

Dude, thanks for the sub! I've been using it daily since the review. The so takers definitely let it down but otherwise, I'm liking it more and more. One thing I've noticed since the review is the color accuracy is hit and miss. Definitely need a calibrator or something. I've struggled to get cool is looking accurate. That said, at 700 bucks I don't know what else would give you more features with better colors, AND height adjustility with USB C charging so if those things are important (they are to me) then this might be as good as it gets! Let me know if you get one and how you like it.

Omg what camera are you using to record your KZread videos it’s honestly one of the most hd videos I’ve seen here on KZread!

I just bought this monitor and a VESA plate was in the box.

I got it for under 200 taking advantage of multiple Amazon offers. Very nice at that price.

The one saying that the monitor had no screen protection plastic was right in his comment. His monitor came with several fingerprints, like not clean. This is a careless approach with your customers. He did a very honest review about the problems existing in the monitor.

Play around with it. Been using mine daily and other than the speakers which still underwhelm, it's grown on me. If I didn't keep it, I don't know what else is out there with height adjustability and USB C power for a similar price that doesn't look dog ugly!

Im finally beginning to figure out certain features and it makes the experience just a bit better

You can’t watch 4k protected streaming content on a computer like Netflix and Disney + so yes the TV features are necessary for that

At $529 I am interested in this for the following reason: It’s a smart TV, 4K, HDR10+ for my kitchen 28 inch TV replacement. I don’t have to buy a streaming device, it has it all built in. Plus I get the benefit of a monitor, smart home hub, Alexa (Another one) plus it has airplay, so I can cast my iPad Pro when i do some realish home work. Plus usb for work laptop work at my kitchen table. Bluetooth my UE Boom speaker, great for sound. Plus plan on testing my Xbox One through HDMI Mini.

You're absolutely right... in theory. But executing all those things in a single device with not quite enough power means the experience isn't quite as smooth as you might like on some of them 😱

Price drop to 599 - Killahhh. Can we please stop comparing the two? It's not really a 1:1 comparison... Seriously let's just keep it real, it's half the price of the Apple studio display. And for Apple loyalists, this is a home/work solution for small apartments, dorms, etc. C'mon. Who's buying 800,000 dollar homes right now in this market with surround sound theater in their house... Okay one person, sit down. Not you. But the rest of us not dropping close to 2k on a 27" Apple Studio Display, we got the point. *And I buy Apple products so I'm not biased at all. I just can't see myself squeezing out that kinda cash on an Apple product that will be obsolete in 2 years (thanks Apple, but no thanks). Especially since Apple is notorious for selling you something in 6 months they already changed the product tech specs and boosted up the price of the next model release by 400-600 dollars. Can't justify it right now.

😂😂 I hear ya. And you’re right. They’re not really comparable products. But Samsung deliberately made the aesthetic in an Apple vibe and it was promoted whether intentionally or not. By a lot of outlets as the windows world answer to the Apple display so ignoring it comp,Evelyn seemed like the wrong move also. But for $599 with USB-C power onboard, it’s an unbeatable monitor as far as I can tell.

The problem with the refresh rate so may be view sonic or lg

Big confusion considering the price discount and promo offfer

Im considerin to buyin this for my casual use..watchin content and trading..watchin charts and backtestin and maybe occasional casual gaming for that purpose it should be ok price is now 400euros here..i was watchin like 10reviews and mostly people complainin about sound but thats not somethin that im picky about..so ill buy it its relatively cheap..

Guy, this started off slow (& frankly a bit weird). Was ready to leave, but once you got into the features, pro vs cons, and some light humor, was very helpful. Panel seems like good quality. I still think that plastic stand seems tacky. (White plastic vs black plastic seems more offensive for some reason.) I think ppl on a tighter budget wd absolutely use it as a TV (younger ppl, maybe seniors who don’t like fussing w/ computers.) Helpful review!

Hey! Thanks for the feedback, genuinely. It's always helpful to hear how the message comes through and I'm sure my humor can be a little out there if you haven't watched a few of my videos. I'm hit or miss on the plastic, but hear you on the white and don't disagree. In some ways it can look worse than black. I wish I'd have been able to get one of the cool colors they make these in but I couldn't get it fast enough. I love the muted tones and you may be right. I debated with my filming guy on the usefulness of the TV features but I still feel most folks in that generation reach for their phone first, tablet / laptop second and would use a monitor last. I have an 86" display in my movie room we're about to review and my teenage kids would still rather watch youtube on their phones, literally sitting on the couch IN the movie room!

Well. You can watch tv without the need of turning on your computer, and also you’d save energy…Your grandma could use the tv without turning on a complicated computer… Also, maybe your computer is processing a long and heavy rendering, and you don’t want to use your cpu to watch tv while waiting to the process to end… I think it’s nice to have a smart tv built on.

So the reason why the speakers don't sound as good as even the tablets is that there are only two speakers, unlike their tablets which have 4 two on top and two on the bottom. Also, the reason why Samsung uses LED is that the price and availability of the OLED that Samsung are way different from others the price of one panel from Samsung display is more than this whole monitor R and D just the R and D so in order to make some type of money back they decide to make it LED which is cheaper and the yield rate can be much higher with out the yield rate cost which we eat into the margins and delay the product.

Hear ya on the speakers but given the physical size, you’d think they would be better. Their TVs in the current generation sound superb for comparison.

@@mikedropstech That is the true but inside of this display is much smaller than you think even compared to they TVs you can can't put two more speakers at the bottom because the IR sensor but you also don't have enough space in the top, also the webcam physical can't fit on top without a crop and lower sensor which this sensor is actually huge with it comes to webcam, hence why it is a little wider than most

@@mikedropstech Yea but also have four speakers on the top right, top left, bottom right, bottom left. The tab is very slim but the inside is bigger than you think and you start to see just how much space the speakers have to take up.

Ha ha, nope, not really. It was the most colorful 4k video I could find quickly on KZread so I just grabbed it and hit play!

It's a entertainment device not a work device. Don't buy Samsung M8, if u r lokin for monitor, it's a tv only that can be used as monitor. For a programmer its text quality is worst, horrible 😱 and not usefull at all🤬....you will get dispointed 🥺and samsung doesn't get it return just giving reason as device is as per website details.your will loose your money buying this. Instead of smart monitor sumsung should name at Samrt TV that can be used as monitor in emergency only😂.
