It worked, I did it myself,but I didn't had the need to open phone like you showed,I simply pulled the button out ,sticked the piece of extra-sim card as shown and pushed it inside. Altogether it really saved my money,and from stressing my mom ,thnks so much for the idea!💖

Well my mother's phone is old and today the power button was stuck. I didn't do it like yours but just rip the power button out using a strong needle. I can turn it on but I didn't return the button and just place a tape to cover the removed button. Thank you for your video! 🎉
