That will be a poor business decision, especially in light of the increasing competition. The Ultra model should retain the current pricing, and the cheaper one should lower the entry price. That's what's commercially feasible.

@LostInLatency I guess the hole punch thing is fair, but honestly the spen slot is far less of an eye sore than the headphone jack in my opinion, because it doesn't collect dirt and fuzz. The pen itself is ugly, but if you don't like it then it never has to leave the slot.

I don't know why other people don't like boxy designs... I LOVE it

Most other big phones are pretty rounded, even the ones with fairly sharp edges. People just aren’t used to it

They will probably turn the regular Fold 6 into an Ultra variant, maybe even increase the price a little and then have the Fold 6 as a "light" variant that's much cheaper

@PSYCHOV3N0M Could be, but I'm more inclined to around 1300$, since there's no way they'll decrease the price of Flip and 1500$ seems like a bit too much for a phone they want to be targeted to mainstream consumers. But with that kind of price I'd also expect it to be worse than Fold 5 in some ways like camera and maybe screen.

For the Z fold 6 to be an ultra it would need the s24 ultra cameras, that would justify the price.

It will defeat the purpose of the Galaxy S series like the S24 Ultra. The only way for the Z Fold Ultra to exist to make sense is merg the S series and Fold to 1 phone like they did in 2022 S series merged with Note series.

@@IceBlueLugia I believe you are forgetting the targeted audience of people who buy the ULTRA levels. These are people who want the best specs and have all the bells and whistles. This is why Samsung makes other ULTRA products other than their phones. I don't like folding phones and love my S22 Ultra however Samsung has an opportunity to force people to like the merged if it were to happen. Yes the cost is a factor on the Fold 6 Ultra if it exist but we are talking about people who will justify the price because it's from a brand that does it all. Shoot Samsung is working on the sliding phone where it extends the display as big as the Fold.

Ill still buy it if the design changes but they should add 5 x camera, 5500 battery, integrated s pen that works on every screen , dark glass non reflection, titanium weight , 2 tb , etc

I believe the Z Fold 6 will be priced at ~1600 USD and the Z Fold 6 Ultra at 2000 USD. This could explain the disparity between the two leak providers, one thinking that there will be an Ultra phone, and the other that there will be a cheap version of the Z Fold 6. This would make the most sense and I would like to see this move from Samsung.

This makes actually way more sense, since there has been a report in the past that a Samsung executive said that there'll never be a cheap Galaxy Z because Z is their most premium Series.

it probably adds at most 50 bucks to their manufacturing cost, they can use both ultra cameras and spen at the same price point. they dont have to make 100-120 % profit from every device

Take the S24 Ultra and double it to an Z Fold 6 Ultra in order to implement a clearer phone hierarchy.

In my opinion they should release z fold 6 and z fold 6 ultra where z fold 6 should come with lower price ( $1200 - $1400$ ) with almost similar specs like the predecessor and z fold 6 ultra should be given the most asked features like spen , 5× zoom lens, 200mp main camera ( from s24 ultra ) etc And both should come with the improved crease ( almost invisible like other fold devices )and wider cover display And later down the line they can release the fe version ( maybe next year or after that ) around ( $800 - $900 )

Ultra Fold6 would definitely be the money maker but, concerns about the S Ultra may loom though, options is always a wonderful thing.

I've said this before. If Samsung actually gives us the foldable with all the bells and whistles, don't be surprised that its more money. I would not be surprised if this "Z Fold 6 Ultra" gets an even more premium price to add all the bucket list items we have wanted.

I’m not super educated on this stuff but don’t you need actual depth within the phone for these high resolution zoom cameras to work? Like, the thing needs to be a certain thickness for it to go up and down or something. The Fold series is notably thinner than the Ultra when unfolded

New cameras? It should get exactly the S24 Ultras! Maybe no 5x, or not 200Mp. But only one of them missing. If no 5x, than the rest same. If no 200mp than at least 108. (If they want still a cause for people to buy the S Ultra)

Finally, a fold with an spen slot..makes,sense

If they make it with in body s-pen and better cameras, it'd go a long way to switching to a foldable. It'll be hard to switch from the ultras unless I'm getting something comparable and obviously just folding isn't enough yet.

So.... to clear the air. The Z Fold 6 that we finally saw isn't the "budget" version. It's just the normal, the ACTUAL z fold 6. And it remains pretty much unchanged aside from being a few mm boxier. BUT, now they are saying they will ALSO release an ULTRA version on top of the regular Z Fold 6. In other words, instead of "budget" + "normal" They are doing "normal" + "ultra". So there is no cheaper version coming. Just regular price which is already expensive. And now EVEN MORE expensive. lol hey, as long as the "ultra" version is way different than the normal one count me in!! Just please don't do the ultra version that has a "bigger battery" and "better camera" only. Because I honestly don't gac about those things.

Ive had a fold 3 amd a fold 4 and both screens went out within one uear of ownership. Now im on the S24 Ultra and im not going nack to a fold for seeveral more years until the phone get bigger and the folding screens holds up for more than two years of everyday use.

If it comes with a built in pen, bigger screens, bigger battery, more ram and a decent camera, I won’t even look at the price

I just want a fold with s range cameras , 5 all up, 200mp 50x zoom etc

If they dont make the cover display as wide as the OnePlus open i will again skip this years release. Its ridiculous that they absolutely refuse to widen the phone

Wait a Minute, Ross Young says "1 with S Pen input & 1 without" Key word is input, he's talking about the digitizer, so Your right Sal! 1 is Z Fold6 other is the Budget Z Fold6 without the S Pen Digitizer!!

If they made a Fold 6 Ultra, I wouldn't mind spending a few hundred more to make it $2,000. I think others wouldn't hesitate either for such a flagship foldable. I always buy the 1tb model every year. To make people feel like they're getting their moneys worth, Samsung needs to give this Fold 6 Ultra some better specs and blast the competition out of the water!

Finally Samsung give Ultra name to folder but sadly any things be surprised except the Ultra price !

Maybe, just maybe, the Fold 6 renders we saw yesterday are actually from the A / FE version, named Fold 6, and the name Fold 6 Ultra (the "normal" version for Samsung) will stay as for the Ultra branding. If that's the case, the contraditory rumors cease to contradict.

I have the Fold 5 and love it. If the Fold 6 Ultra is real and with a S-pen built in I would gladly pay $2000 for it. Plus trade in deals are so good when you Pre-order.

Tbh i could see them making the normal fold the cheap variant, taking away its features and giving them to a fold ultra. Its like when they gave the base s series a plastic back and budget-phone screen resolution.

I'm waiting for this next gen of foldable from Samsung, I have the 3 and 4 didn't go with the 5 because its literally the same as the 4. So if they don't make the cover screen bigger Ill go with a pixel fold

I could see them doing both actually. The current $1,800 dollar phone would become the ultra line with s-pen. And the budget phone would be maybe $1,200 or $1,500? They get a lot of publicity for saying ULTRA, no wait BUDGET, no wait NEITHER, but then they do both in the end. I'm sure as hell not paying over $2,000 for an ultra phone though. $1,800 dollars is already an insane price tag.

I would pay whatever they ask for a z fold 6 ultra with the full s24 ultra camera setup, s-pen slot, and wider cover screen.

yea if it has like 8000 mah battery, then maybe 1900 is slightly doable. otherwise too costly for a device that we know will break after certain number of folds over time.

I had my hands on the s24 ultra at a local tech store and I loved how it feels on my hands compared to the regular s24 and iphones. If thats the design for the zf6 ultra then I might consider getting it. Do it samsung! Make me go back to android 😂

I wish they'd loose the raised profile of the camera lenses on the back and leave it smooth

The S-pen support they talk about is likely to be the same as what's currently available on the Z Fold, not the presence of an S-pen slot. The cheaper model may offer no support for pen input.

Folds has been the most useful mobile devices (not just a smartphone) that i have ever used. I dont care about the price just give me everything that samsung has to offer in an ultra fold.

Anything can happen on Fabruary 29 including Z FOLD 6 ULTRA. I guess we have to wait for unpack event to see if it is Z Fold 6 Ultra or FE edition.

Unpopular opinion here, but I love the thinner cover screen of the fold 5. I know it's because I have small hands, but I dont need a large outer display. That's what the inner display is for.

I hope they make an ultra I been saying this since the fold 2. It needs a bigger inner display tho, they need to make the phone slightly taller not wider so the inner display is 8 inches n closer to 16:9 ratio so watching videos is much bigger n better. I wouldnt mind it being around a quarter inch taller at all.

Fold 6 leak yesterday says the aspect ratio of the outter screen will be the same as the fold 5 it's just matching the s24 ultra square design

I wish they could release a 16:9 aspect ratio foldable phone.

This is interesting. If Samsung does decide to release a Z Fold6 Ultra, the price needs to be the same while making the base model cheaper. But again, I wouldn't be suprised if there was a price increase.

I would say an FE makes more sense since its purpose is to bring more consumers to the Fold. An Ultra would just cost too much. Plus, Samsung probably still believes that they don't need to go all in just yet.

they are relising 2 verions we have been using the lower end one all this time No surprise been online about the new ultra line for ages BTW that's the fold 5 screens breaking now mine just split the other day! Source GSM areana have had a leak for a while screen size on the new fold 6 has not changed its the same aspect ratio as the fold 5

For the money we pay for this device I definitely want to see a spen or spen slot and different cameras don't think there that good but the fold 6 could be my last Samsung device unless upgraded

Da bin ich sehr gespannt. Wenn es allerdings die gleichen Display-Probleme gibt wie beim S24 Ultra mit den rauschenden groben Pixeln (" Grain-problem" )und rot grün Flimmern im Dark Mode, dann ist es ein NoGo für mich. Zwei S24 Ultras mit dem Problem habe ich zurückgesendet und daher kommt dieses Display vom S24 Ultra für mich nicht infrage. Man kann nur hoffen, dass es beim ZFold 6 nicht verwendet wird, dann würde ich das Z Fold6 in Betracht ziehen.

I dont want to jynx it but the flat display and sharp corners are for the Spen, sure they could simply be alligning it with the S24 ultras design language but this to me could be the Fold 6 and then an Ultra model gives us the wider screen and Spen. They still wont over do it with specs because of the weight, Somethings just not adding up here, they hired a guy to redesign this device, plus they took apart the oppo foldable to learn how to shrink it, but this render is too outdated to fit that story...Has to be an Ultra Variant in the works. And Makes more sense to not call anything the 'lite' version ,not good for sales, they will make the Fold 6 the new lite and the ultra will be a bumped up fold 6

The new design head they hired is for 2025 models and beyond, not this year's phones.

I would love an Ultra version of the Zfold as long as it's $2,000.

But it does make sence to have a pen with z fold since it is like tablet. You even have more screen to write on so idk why they wouldnt make ultra version of zfold. But 2k... Damn to much.

Ultra need to be 2 s24 ultras put together at that price. I have a zfold5 I wanted to get the new 6 but isn't looking too promising now

Its a niche product. I don't see them making an FE version but I do see an Ultra. People who buy the Z Fold are tech enthusiasts with money to burn. Or professionals who really need to use that inner display and S Pen.....on the other hand a budget Flip is not really necessary...would be nice but that phone does go down in price and it sells way more than the Z Fold anyway. A Flip FE? To be frank I have no clue where they can cut corners and still make it attractive. We just have to wait and see.

It's the 6th gen of foldable phones and you would think that Samsung has learned from their mistakes

If not making batter than honor vs fold at least make it same we need thinner fold
