I agree with you as well for me. I have the one terabyte Z fold 5 with trading as well as a few other promotions I could get it for under $600 but then taxes are added roughly like $700 to get a Z fold 6 personally I'm keeping my five upgrade next year. Hopefully we get a little bigger screen a little better cameras, better stylist integration whether or not the stylist is built into the device I will hold my breath, but to be on a positive note if we think of years of Apple with the introduced, the new design of the phone and then the next year they would introduce the S model improvements I guess you could think of the Z-fold six as the new design and my fingers are gonna be crossed for next year where we get the Z fold 7 with the modifications to the new design..... I have dreams, right!!! Also Adam, thanks for the video :)

Looks like upgrading every other year might be best value. Trade in value for a fold 4 was pretty good(1000). Fold 5 value was only a little bit better (1200)

Trade-ins and preorders sucked compared to last year :/

Seems that the OP and his buddy forgot that with the OG Z Fold came with those incentives because it was the very first foldable available to the mass market. They had to give consumers a reason to take a chance and buy it. I know that's why I did.

In the UK we don't get these insane trade in values, the highest we get is £640 off with an s24 ultra. Its ridiculous how much more the US get off than we do.

If we weren't experiencing inflation like we are now, the price of foldables would be dropping as they become more mainstream. I would imagine that without inflation, we would be paying in the $1300-$1500 range for a Z Fold. But, given that we are feeling inflation, the price staying the same is more on par with being where it is expected than to actually feeling like we are getting it cheaper despite a rise in inflation.

Samsung is pretty good about trading in Galaxy devices. I ordered a Galaxy watch 7 44mm for $130 after trading in my old Galaxy watch 4 which I don't use. I'm using the One Plus 2 watch now, but will use Watch 7 when it comes the 24th.

You make great videos Adam. I'm definitely someone that always wants the latest and greatest and I'm hoping the z fold 6 will at least give a little bit of improvement in battery life and that I'll notice a little bit of a difference in that wider front screen. I almost bought the global version of the Vivo X-Fold 3 but I've had issues in the past with those Chinese phones and getting notifications. Not sure if the global version will fix that because it's not technically released in the United States. If you had to pick, would you go with the z fold 6 or the s24 ultra and why?

Could you Tell me the code to open Xperia 6 in USA 5g

The s pen is a fantastic reason to get a Samsung Flagship but once you've used the S pen pro, you might never pick up the little baby stylus that comes with the phone/cases again. Take a look if you get the chance!

Was gonna preorder and trade up my fold 5 (which is the same device tbh) but I leave for my PCS to Korea on the 23rd. So I might pick it up there.

Preordered yesterday in Canada: Fold 6 costs $2565 CAD. I got it down to $1211 with trade in, promo codex2 and corporate discount. I added extra year of care+ and tax came out to $1418.81 CAD.

You get the inner screen replacement free within the 1st year regardless of whether or not you purchase the additional Samsung Care + because It's part of the one year Samsung warranty. If you have the Samsung Care plus like I do on my Z Fold 5 you then you can take it to most any Samsung Experience Store, and they will install a new inner screen protector for free.

That's a good way of putting it. They really making it worth it for the 3 or 4. I think most of the upset is because they gave really good trade from the 4 to the 5 especially for the flip (800 making the 5 100 which is a steal) I'm interested to see if the internal changed makes it more durable over time as that's my main concern with these devices

Thank you for your honest opinion. I love Samsung OS. I have purchased the OnePlus Open while i enjoy this device i still miss the Samsung features. They dont offer a trade for this device which is a shame. What is your opinion should i sell this one and the fold 6?

I'm on the zfold5, I may upgrade since I get a yearly update for free anyways lol. My zfold5 is everything I've ever wanted in a phone, I hadn't even thought about upgrading it until all of the videos started popping up.

Imma just buy a broke fold or flip off ebay, i got my flip4 for 160, missing its main camera glass but the camera still works and has some gritty asthetic to it due to it having dirt on the lens. 169!!! Perfect inner and outter screen! Its beenabout 5 months now

I got the 5 I'm not upgrading to the 6 unless I break it I pay the 150$ by January and get the 6 in return

The new prices are crazy 🤪 considering they are using old parts they should be $1000 considering you can't Wright on the front screen no s-pen inside no 5000 mah battery and it should have the same cameras the S24 Ultra have if they put new parts and fix this absolutely I agree on the pricing

Yes, got my fold 5 in December so it's tempting to go get the fold 6 but I am going to wait and see. Have Samsung care so not worried about any issues. But I also have 15 pro and apple products so the fold is my 2nd line even tho I use if for everything. Nothing wrong with the fold 5 and the differences are minimal. Depends on the price for the fold ultra if there will be one but at this point probably going to wait for fold 7. We will still get 1000 on trade in next year

You may want to even talk about Carrier deals if you haven't already. AT&T is offering deals where you can trade devices any year and any condition and get $1,000 off. (They are offering me $1,100 for my slightly cracked Z Fold 3!) They even seem to have taken a page out of Samsung's book and are offering free storage upgrade as well and their pre order window is 10 days longer. Oh, and you get $100 off the Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra if you get it with the phone. Crazy 😅

Of course the trade in is higher for the Z Fold 5. It was a $1800 phone. The S24 Ultra was $1299 - $500 price difference. It makes sense. And Olive Garden is delicious lol

Prices are gonna go up no matter what, but DAMN i wish our wages changed with the time...minimum every 5 years it should change for inflation. The minimum in texas is 7.50.....SEVEN FIFTY!!!!! You know what that gets you? 300 bucks for 40 hours 600 biweekly, 1200 monthly...that not enough for even half the rent, let alone groceries and other bills. Im gettinfg paid 19.50 and i live with my family. We're BARELY getting by. I usualy depend on trade in deals and carrier deals...and honestly YES samsung is still peak trade in killer...but STILL paying 500+ for it WITH the trade in deal is a killer as well...might ad well wait for better deals or next years phone. Thank you Adam, for keeping us informed! I really HOPE best buy has great deals for the pixel 9s....i REALLY hope so, if not ill have to wait for the 10.

Dude, you and the fam need a side hustle! Pull your talents and skills together. Somewhere, in all the many different talents in your household, is a marketable sellable skill. Sell dinner plates or desserts on the weekend. Clean windows in the neighborhood. Paint driveway numbers. Have a group playdate (the parents leave the kids at your house, while they go do whatever). Ask a mom if you can do the dishes, clean the kitchen or fold laundry, so many will say yes.

The new Razr is $999. $899 is the sale price. It doesn’t have 512 storage, monthly updates, Samsung AI, 7 years of support. There are reasons they charge more.

Dont you have to at least factor in part of the loss you would be taking on the fold 5? If with taxes you paid 2000 for the fold 5 , then you would have an 800.00 loss plus whatever else you pay for the new one plus taxes again. I guess ultimately it just depends on how important having the new one is. Which I have certainly been guilty of in the past 😁

The Samsung presentation was just purely awful. Let's talk Ai...Circle to search is a game changer. ok on to the next nonsense "ground breaking" feature. I was watching it like passing by a trainwreck... It's really just embarrassing. How about improving Bixby with Ai...bixby is terrible. How about improving interaction with the Galaxy watch. How about improving voice input. Improving multitasking. They don't focus on anything that actually improves day to day use.

Fun fact, this credit and the $50 reserve don't stack with military discounts.

@@TechOdyssey so, I tried it and I noticed my $50 reserve wasn't included. So I chatted online with Samsung rep and they set up a cart for me and it was still the same. After looking into it for a few minutes they told me that it didn't stack with the military discount.

I think folding phones are going to turn out like 3D televisions.
