Some advice; if you haven't used android in a while, it will take a week to get used to it. That's the same if you go from android to iOS or mac to windows. Just have an open mind I see a lot of people switching and then complaining

@@strangebaaza So true. First time Android user since iPhone was launched. Took me a week to acclimatize to the new OS. I used it with a iOS user mindset initially which led to many frustrations. Opened mind is the key.

I pre-ordered the Fold last night, thinking that even if it was a marginal upgrade over the 4, the jump from my current phone and the pre-order incentives made up for it. But this makes me feel so much better about it! Very glad you covered this, everyone just wrote it off as the same camera and didn't say anything else on the matter.

There's a third camp, those who aren't surprised by these results at all, and were waiting for someone like yourself to make this content. When I saw everyone complaining that the camera hardware wasn't upgraded, I just smiled and waited. Phone photography is more about software and processing power than it is about hardware. Google proved that a few years back. That 8k video is amazing.

It's like a totally different camera. Still not enough to get me to upgrade from my 4, but definitely has me looking forward to how much better the 6 will be.

This was a much larger camera upgrade than I thought it would be. Quick question, are there any improvements to the shutter lag as well?

The question that needed to be asked... If Samsung can prioritize solving this issue, they would take a giant leap forward. Being a parent and having moving kids makes me regret having a Samsung

Odd.. My reply was removed. But guys, the LAG IS GONE!! Check out the android centrals fold 5 camera review and then go to the last category which is "additional information". He even shown the video comparison vs fold 4 when pressing the shutter icon It and this review sealed the deal for me. I'm getting fold 5 as well

Danny, you ARE THE MAN!! EVERYONE ELSE!! is ridding the pixel fold coat tails and complaining about the "minor" increases instead of doing the WORK!!... I love that they fixed what mattered compared to asthetics!!..someone said this earlier, "why are we complaining about screen size when just a few years ago 6" screens were "too big"... we were texting on 4.5-5.7" screens forever, now they're "too thin"??.. can't please people, samsung did great this time... next year, we'll probably have the "asthetics" we want.

I definitely expected improvements given how awesome the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 has been for my S23 Ultra in terms of image processing. Now to see how much better the battery life is! That will definitely sway more people IMO! I truly love the form factor of the Pixel Fold, but could never deal with that poor of battery life or low app performance for having a bigger screen..

I have never owned any foldable phone before, but this is my first time preordering the Galaxy Z Fold 5. It's a perfect time for me to get one after all those Fold series! Also awesome camera upgrade from Fold 4!

Am having the zd fold 3. It is a great phone, but make sure that you work with caution while using the big screen to avoid dirt accumulation or tiny scratches.Also, try to avoid any crack on the small screen because this will lead to switching off the phone. It is a good phone, but it is a very delicate one.

Watching this on my fold 5 that arrived today; this is my first foldable and I cannot get enough of it. Must admit that the cameras are worse than i expected when used inside with slightly worse lighting (50mp), but it's still night and day difference coming from OnePlus 8T with its shitty cameras, so I'm happy nonetheless. I'm surprised with the processing improvements over the fold 4's, so I can't wait to snap some photos outside. Written on the inner screen with SwiftKey, so ducking good.

There is indeed, clearly a significant improvement. Many more real details (not oversharpened), but most importantly, green, red and blue are much more realistic.

I think most of us are looking for a camera hardware upgrade. We're looking for better updated sensors. Sadly it's the same old same old, and really with one inch sensors and periscopes from other OEMs now being released we are not really getting what we are paying for. Software improvements are great but I wanted them to upgrade camera hardware and this is definitely not that. A very very easy pass from a Galaxy fold 4 user. I will see what next year offers.

Great video Danny. I’m convinced I made the right decision now. Moving on from the iPhone 14PM to the Fold 5 as my first entry into the Foldables scene. The flatter hinge got me and now, the cameras. Love the detail you went into. Fingers crossed for the delivery today on the pre-order!

By default it’s on so I leave it on.

My pre order was a bit of an impulse buy because I managed to get a really good deal. Videos like these make me really excited and glad I went with it. Can't wait for it to arrive :)

In the photo of the engineering samples I see on the right what I believe is an S-Pen slot. So does that mean we might get that in a year or two? I hope so!

Holding on to my Fold 4. The improvements from Fold 3 to Fold 4 were massive and made me switch from S22U. This year, not so much unless you are pixel peeping.

​@@carver9312 this is a thorough comparison. You won't notice a difference if you upload them on your social media accounts. But photos just for memories and for fun... I mean you're not publishing it for a magazine what's the point. If you need a professional camera, I don't think they will work for you.

Great video and does show differences. I think though the the average person the won't tell the difference unless the pixel peep. I bought mine for the bigger screen over other phones. If I wanted the best camera I would havbe gone for the 23 Ultra. With minimal improvements I'll wait to upgrate from the 4.

I’m glad that the camera as improved, in the Z Fold 5. I was never a fan of the Fold 4 camera set up - especially indoors shots.

Thank you Danny... most of these youtubers keep saying it's not seen as a upgrade.

The differences are very minor and certainly not worth upgrading from a Galaxy Fold 4. As it will cost in the UK over £1,100 after trading in which means a massive loss in a year for tiny improvements over details and contrast in photos. Unless you are deep-diving into every photo, there is minimal difference between the Fold five and four. Very few reasons to upgrade from the Galaxy Fold 4 which is disappointing as I was expecting a redesign this year.

Thank you for this video. I will be trading in my fold 3 for the 5. Trade in prices are good right now and I think theres enough changes to make it worth it. I have had no issues with my fold 3 other than the screen protector peeling off. If i want super fancy pics I will bring my fancy digital slr. For every day pics the fold 5 looks amazing. I can't wait to receive it. 😊

Do you think it worth the change from Z fold 3 to Z fold 5 ?

As someone who has the Galaxy s21 ultra and who just pre-order the fold 5 trade in I'm happy. The cameras look night and day better then my s21 ultra. That said, I just hope the fold 5 holds up as well as my s21 ultra 2 years later. Got the 21 day of release, so 2.5 years later it's still running perfectly. Super hyped, and great video

Wow the difference is huge! There is literally no AF judder on the Fold 5 (video). About time they back off on the excessive sharpening! Leaving the noise in there looks more natural (film like). If the user doesn't want it, they have the choice to knock it down in post. But once it's smashed by the device, the capture is ruined forever.

The real question is if samsung will update the fold 4 to match this upgrade in camera processing...

The major changes come from the processor/ISP upgrade.

Hey Danny thanks for the detailed comparison. My conclusion is, if you aren't a zoom freak there is no need to upgrade for the cam.

Yes, yearly upgrades are expected to have software improvements, as AI is now the buzzword. So this is no surprise, and hopefully some improvements can trickle down to the Galaxy Fold 4. Obviously, not all improvements will be available as the SD8G2 has onboard camera improvements. Is it enough for you to upgrade from the Fold 4 to the Fold 5..not really? The Galaxy Fold 5 is a very good phone, but an insubstantial upgrade from last year in nearly all regards. I would say, if you are buying to keep long-term then wait for next year, or save $1,000 and buy the Galaxy Fold 4 and upgrade to the Galaxy Fold 6 next year.

The 8 Gen2 worked it's magic on the 23 Ultra, so it is no surprise that it seems to be making the Fold 5 shine. At least in comparison to the Fold 4.

I really wish that the Z Flip also had the option to take portrait mode photos at 2X it would really be a great feature to have

Details in images on Samsung phones this year are the best I've seen, but colors are terrible sometimes when that yellow casting appears on our photos and that ruins the entire thing for some of us

@@jimjohnson5007 some will say cameras,but i have the Exynos chip in my 22 so even if the cameras arent ss good (and going by reviews out so far,theyre still great),a chipset upgrade will be more than enough imo

06:47 as a Black person is the comparison image I needed to see. Very annoyed that Samsung has gone back to artificially brightening our skin tones again. It's so damn frustrating taking a pictures of myself and seeing it making me light skinned when im dark skinned, its almost as if tbey refuse to acknowledge that black people have lots of differeing tones. Will Smith and Shaquille O'Neil are both black but clearly different in tone, but let Samsung tell it, they look exactly the same smh.

I was checked and confirmed that Fold 5 camera 3x zoom is not working like s23 ultra.
