Great video! But I do have 1 question... How do you do the Bixby driving routine to turn off Wi-Fi when driving and to turn on when home? I tried and I can't find driving anywhere with Wi-Fi 🤔🤔🤔 My carrier by the way is Verizon, if that helps any. Thank you in advance KZread Tech Guy!

I had to stop 6 minutes into the video because the auto focus was way too annoying.

Check this out! Bixby can scale your screen zoom level. Screen zoom can actually go between 4 different levels. 1 is the most zoomed out, 4 is super zoomed in. The Toggle in settings can only switch to level 2 for zoomed out and level 3 for zoomed in. Try saying “Hi Bixby. Set the screen zoom to level 1.”

*Good Lock* one of *the* main reasons I _love_ Samsung phones! I don't know why dumb ATT doesn't let you turn off 5G (or at least I can't find a setting). I love the Good Lock Navigation module. I don't use gestures so I added an extra icon for screenshots and put my own custom icons as my NavBar. This is a feature I never want to lose!

Mine didn't either, but after I got the Android 12 Beta, I now can. I'm not on AT&T tho... but the option wasn't there before and now it is. Maybe check Bixby Routines too. I made a routine to turn 5G off when its folded closed. Under Connections ->Network Mode.

Great video. I want to add one thing if you're using the Samsung case that's included in some orders, go settings\advanced features\accessories and you can turn off the front screen powering up with front screen flap lifting if in bag etc. Front cover loose and constantly turning screen on 👍👍👍

FYI: When I turn Screen Zoom to the lowest setting in Screen Layout and Zoom there are certain apps (Samsung mail for one) they no longer do a spit screen, only the email list shows with no option to have the emails on the left screen and the preview on the right. Switching zoom up restores the split screen layout.

The app called samsung band selection allows you to switch from 5g to lte 4g or specifically select bands on att carrier.

Also can you change the opacity of the Dock side bay thing so it is a little more hidden?

Hey Ricky! I noticed I can't send a video, song, or more than 3 pix at a time through sms or mm anymore. Say's file to large. Do I need to change something in settings in sms settings?

Ricky, how did you get the side bar to be transparant? Did you change it yourself ? Because i can't find any settings to do so, or did you use good lock to do so, and if so, how? Because mine stays opague (or however) it's a dark gray, sometimes animations will shine through but my wallpaper doesn't. The little app drawer that comes with the sidebar is transparant though... I'm lost... I'd like to pin it but it's just ugly this way

I think since it's a much smaller screen I have set it up as a one handed device where I can for example unarme my home security, launch KZread music etc...The bigger screen is setup as entertainment one with KZread, Netflix, drawing apps and more at the bottom.

Geesh the auto focus settings is crazy trippy

Not sure if someone mentioned it, but probably lock focus or use manual focus. Your camera kept trying to focus on your hand in some instances.

Doesn’t the lab feature on the fold 3 do the same stuff that good lock does?

Is there a setting that let's you save and name each setting profile so where we could select a setting called low power mode (I know about power saving mode) and it selects all these custom settings and then a setting called something like beast mode where everything is set high with high brightness etc and 120hz etc!?

You can do that in Bixby Routines. I have a game/ movie mode that changes my screen refresh rate from 60hz to 120hz. When I stop gaming or stop watching a video it will go back to 60hz. Saves on my battery that way.

I was waiting for the case information. I have the case that holds the spen but I don’t like it.

I have to say the reason Samsung doesn't default continue to cover is because most users want the phone to turn off when they close it. My use case is watching something or reading some then close the phone and pocket it. There are a very few apps I want to continue to the cover screen when I close the phone.

My fold doesn’t have the enhanced processing feature. Why?

Samsung definitely agrees with sneaky linking with that secure folder and private sharing. (O know people also use it for encrypted documents and business confidentiality files etc just making a joke lol)

I don't have the feature to pin my side par nor split screen options on the bar what do I do 😭

When I add an app or make a change a grey box appears at the bottom of the screen. It often covers a selection I need to make to continue. This box can stay on the screen for a minute or two. How can you shorten the amount of time? I only need to see, "an app has been added to the home screen" for a second or two.

Hard to see when every 5 seconds the image goes out of focus......can you please do it again?

I love these videos Ricky!, I just want to mention that when you talked about the Show Locked Down Option there is a very specific reason for having that on here. In the United States police can force you to give up fingerprints and face unlock, etc. they can force you to unlocked your phone, even without anything to hide, this is a huge invasion of privacy. 1 cop forced a women to unlock her phone with a fingerprint and he went through her phone and sent himself her nudes! They don't always need warrents depending on your state and so adding the lock down option means you touch that button as soon as you get pulled over or are harassed by a police officer and it will immediately turn off the ability for someone to force you to use your Fingerprint or other way of unlocking the phone. Since the general consensus in court is that police cannot force you to unlock your phone with a password but they can force you to use fingerprints et cetera. If they want your password, they usually need a Warrant. Sometimes an ounce of prevention is worth well more than a pound of cure.

currently using protect battery functionality now - 85% lasting me whole day and usually finish between 20 - 35% (bare in mind - that is my usage pattern - basic apps like whatsapp, youtube, internet browsing etc). Considering what this phone is doing - its really incredible especially compared to my one plus 6t which is over 2+ yrs old now...glad samsung phone software is much nicer to use now as well!

💯🧢 Adaptive does not cost you 30 minutes! I have tested this on every 120 hertz display Samsung has. At most 10 minutes. Again I have tested this

I think it would depend on what you are doing. For example if you are scrolling alot it probably won't make much of a difference

85% charging, for the over night chargers, run the last 15% whilst observing

Download Samsung Band Selection. Within app choose More Network Settings. Tap Verizon, advanced at the bottom, Preferred Network Type change to LTE. This setting is defaulted to 5G preferred.

I noticed the same thing about his battery percentage lol. Pretty sure it's just the phone, despite all these battery saving tips and others it will still die quickly sadly. Accubattery showed mine with 5 hrs SOT estimated from 100%. Not to mention a mAh of only 3720 on my battery for some reason. Either way I still love the phone and am personally willing to put up with it for that big display

Sending mine back because it would be on 18 percent after an 8 hour work shift. My s20 ultra would be on 40 within that same time. Loved everything about the phone but the battery made it a no go for me

I dont know the password to activate developers options

Followed all your steps with hopes that I can get more than 5 hours of battery life. My 2 year old note 10+ gets better battery life than my fold 3. Super bummed I cant make it through a day on this phone.

Turn off voice assistants like bixby and google. Then maximize bixby routines. If ur not at home, set the routines where it will automatically turn on power saving.

Liked this video but overstating the security of secured folder isn't a good idea as every computer thing can be hacked, it is just a matter of time and resources.

Sorry maybe it's just me but you should take ur camera off auto focus. This was unwatchable for me.

Still unable to change notification tones for each app, even talked with Samsung tutor and they were unable to figure it out, quite frustrating particularly when it was so easy on my Note 8.

Is it true, I cannot customize my text messaging sounds?! I went from a note Galaxy note 8 to now a Galaxy Z fold 3. I am so disappointed

Just a clarification.. you said the side panel has 3rd party apps.. Im pretty sure Samsung took away access to the 3rd party store in the Fold 3. I know i have access with my S10 but I dont with my Fold 3.

Your video blurs out too much when your hands gets too close. It sucks when I'm focused and then everything blurs. Other than that, nice content.

@Nicholas Rotondo Been fantastic, but you MUST get a good case for it, immediately. There's plenty of glass surfaces to protect. And, do utilize the battery saving features. The phone still functions fully, and for much longer. Enjoy?
