    Well said! I absolutely agree it’s also very subjective as sometimes same photo or scene can appear completely different to different people. So in the end it all comes down to practice and putting yourself in new situations, in terms of lighting or environment, because in challenges we grow. Thank you for your comment, appreciate you taking your time to share your thoughts!

    Yes, it would help if he knew that for food videography/photography white balance is everything. The footage is way too reddish. For best result, aim for correct white balance, with saturated colors for vegetables (especially greens, it makes the vegetables look fresh). That's how advertisers make food look appetizing; just pay attention to a food advertisement next time you encounter one, and you'll see what I mean. I get he is just learning at this point, but it's quite destructive to teach others when you are still learning yourself. Good looking footage anyways considering it was captured with a phone, not meaning to be rude or anything. :)

    Out of all that i learnt from uni, it was another student who actually hit home what really goes into good photography and videography. He spent several hours getting the camera set up right, getting the lighting set up right, all in all, probably 4/5 set up 1/5 actual filming. And his work was the best out of all of our projects (with the rest of us mostly winging it on the fly)

    It's true that the setup matters a lot. Especially lighting, it's probably the most important aspect in photography and videography. I would somewhat disagree though, in photography at least the actual shooting can take quite a while as well. In my 20 years of photographing, my best shots came as a result of me taking +1000 pictures of the same thing. Seriously, it was driving me nuts! I kept changing the lighting and composition, until finally one of the shots hit me hard. It took forever, but the end result was something you cannot get just by setting up the scene forever without actually experimenting.

At first it did frustrate me because this phone cam automatically zooming in and out even if you have turned the stabilization and tracking auto focuss off. So when I filmed myself on the piano keys, it kept zooming in and out. The same thing also happened to early flagship series AFTER latest update. The earlier series cam was just fine before update. No auto zooming in and out as long as you turn the stabilization and taf off.

    after checking out the video, the galaxy s 23 ultra makes good photos/videos but not like a DSLR just yet... also noticed in general that the iphone has an Iconic pink hue to the color tone with photos/videos and the samsung series has a brown or gold tone/tint to them and you can really see it in selfies or when the light outside is low.... not many people mention it but after using so many cameras and camera phones, it's clear to see the distinctions even if the camera improves. cool vid.

    Hey there awesome videos ! I see an HDR10+ option on the video settings. Do you happen to record with HDR10+ enabled ? I did try and convert it to rec709 in Final Cut (PQ to rec 709) but, I'm not sure if I should've selected SLG to rec 709 when converting the HDR footage into rec 709, but the footage doesn't come out that great even after adjusting the exposure and some color grading. What do you think? Is HDR10+ something you'd recommend to use or not really ?

    I have noticed that you can extract frames (photos) of good resolution, so I am wondering what would be the best resolution to film if the idea is to extract some photos, perhaps motion or sports or other.

  • @whatsnottohike
    @whatsnottohike10 ай бұрын

    Great tutorial. I wish there was a 24fps 4k that is not in pro mode, as when out hiking, having to stop and choose iso etc can be very time consuming and if i move from say a dark sky to light sky (a storm coming in for example?) while the iso/wb setting may be ok for the darker sky, when i pan to the lighter part it doesn't auto correct to take account of the brighter sky, or does it? I think 24fps, 4k should be one of the auto options, as more and more people are looking for that cinematic 24fps footage. Thanks.

    Hi I have been recently using s23 ultra in making food videos.. one typical problem i am facing while shooting at UHD 60fps is while shooting a particular scene when certainly there is addition of a some new items into it the focus gets shifted and the video becomes blurry at that point of time .. can you kindly let me know what’s the best way to get this issue resolved or better or to say how to improve on this Hope to get a reply from you 😊

Regarding your photosesh and filming the sneakers I think it's best to focus on lighting and set design as the camera settings come in second. Find some good references that you like and try to analyse them-what background theyre using? what lighting? it's a really complex you just gotta practice and find some inspiration online, you got this!

    Which encoder would you recommend for filming on Samsung S23/S24, aiming for the best image quality in 4K videos at 30 FPS for KZread, such as for a travel video? I know that the H.265 encoder is claimed to offer the same quality as H.264 but with half the required data. However, I prefer H.264 encoding because the decoding of H.265 data significantly extends the editing time in my editing software. Personally, I don't mind that it consumes more data, as editing time and compatibility are more important to me. Currently, I am confident that I would exclusively use the H.264 standard (bitrate around 48,000 kbits). However, there is an additional parameter in the advanced video settings for HEVC (H.265) called "High Bitrate Videos." Enabling this option provides a bitrate of around 80,000 - 90,000 kbits when recording with H.265, almost twice as high as H.264 or H.265 (without selecting higher bitrate). How can this be, and is the image quality significantly better? Unfortunately, I cannot perceive any difference in image quality myself. If the image quality were truly much better, I would even consider switching from H.264 to H.265 (High Bitrate) and accept the poorer compatibility and convenience in the editing software for it.
