I did it!!! Thank you so much. I was able to follow you with no problem. I did break the wire a few times and had to slow down and ensure that I heated the screen enough. Then, I had a hard time getting the glue off the LCD until you gave the ok to use a paper towel. Everything went pretty smoothly after that. My replacement glass came with a black double-sided tape template that you didn't cover. By the time I figured out what it was for and how to install it, I had mangled it up pretty badly. You didn't use one, so I figured I could do without it also. And even being patient, I ended up with a few air bubbles in my glue, but I was able to work them out. I rigged an curing chamber out of a shoebox with my LED flashlight thru an hole. Bottom line, I followed your video and repaired my broken cellphone. Now, I feel confident enough to tackle the crack in my Kindle screen. Wish me luck!!

Wow, very well done. You sir are a master of phone repair. The wire trick is genius I wish i would have watched this video before I attempted the note 2 glass replacement. I broke my screen in seconds. replaced LCD and wife broke it 6 months later. My cousin said he fixed his s4 multiple times so i trusted him with my note 2 and i watched him break the lcd in seconds. Now my wife broke her s5 glass and i am here watching this excellent video. I gave you a like and i am confident with this video i can replace the glass. Unfortunately I am watching this video because my s5 won't turn after a fall but no broken glass. I probably will just tear my screen off and put it on her phone since i upgraded her to a s5 active. Anyway thanks for the excellent video.

hi, I saw a lot of glass replacements with the UV glue, but some displays has spots near to the sides after the procedure, apareantly because the glue had leaked to inside of the LCD. How to know if the LCD display that I get in hands will let the glue leak, and how to seal or stop the leaking, providing secure job and non spotted LCD display?

I know it's hard but paying more in my area than the phones worth is harder. on previous glass and LCD separation I put clear postal tape on the shattered glass to help it come off in one piece. Then with some heat and fishing like (4lbs) I got it off. just a concept.

Bought the kit followed the instructions, and now mine is fixed. getting the glass off is actually not the part I had problems with. The biggest issue is how much glue to use, I eneded up using way to much, had to separate the glass twice to ger rid of air bubbles, went very slow but not slow enough, had to clean up a lot of glue from the frame. I used paper to cover the glas in order to harden the adhesive enough to remove the glass from the frame to clean. Afterwards tried to push out a couple of nnew air bubbles, but had lots of adhesive coming out of the sides. I cleaned the frame as best I could, was worried about it hardening in the home button, but used the light to cure whatever glue I couldn't clean inside the frame. The kit I got had no cards, but did have an adhesive piece to glue the screen back into the frame. Wished I knew what would clean the glue well. Not complaining, it worked and my sin is very happy to have his phone back and working again. Thanks for the great kit!

I have an S5 with a fubar screen that has data I want to retrieve and another S5 that has a good screen that I can use for parts. When taking the fubar screen off the first S5, the digitizer was glued to the base on the orange strips visible at 3:25. Glued so well I busted that all to batshit little pieces getting it off. Naturally I don't want to bust up my good screen. Your digitizer did not appear to be glued down? Of am I missing something ... ???

I followed this but along the way, I did something wrong. Everything was running smoothly until I tried to separate the LCD from the screen. I got the card in and used the wire, but when I got to certain point, a heard a crack. so I stopped and the screen came right off. but there was a tint to the screen. I knew it was suppose to be completely see through, but I though this was just the polarizer sheet. Now my phone will still turn on, but the LCD won't light up. I try taking what I thought was the polarizer sheet off of my old screen, but it turned out to be glass and I ended up cracking it? Still not sure what it is, wondering if there is any hope for my phone before I get a track phone aha. thanks!

I have a g tab A model sm-t280 (2016)it was in one of those rubber kids cases that is larger rounded edges to grip and absorb shocks.its 2 years old now and I noticed a couple of weeks ago that it will slowly depending on amount of out of level Ness it is sitting on,will glide unnoticably until it falls.so mine was on my flat 34 inch high bathroom vanity.it took 55 minutes to slowly make it to the edge and fall.if there is sound vibrations it moves a little faster.so it was flat on my counter.i got a level and checked the incline that should be level and normally is.but it was sloped to the front a tiny quarter of an inch.thats all it takes.i set.my video camera up and put it fartherback.its unreal .it moved halfway to the edge in an hour.just thought it to be good info to have and warn others.its taken way higher falls many times from my 3 boys but this time it landed just right onto the flat tile floor.when it fell I had been nearby in the bath ,in the closet, never noticed it moving because it's so slow.took an hour to move 3 inches. Has 3 qaurters of the screen in cracks .my digitizer is fine my screen looks and works great.i need to repair the glass only.....I assume the repair is similar to this one.,..do you have the glass screen and tool kit to repair?in have all the same type tools from other things done in the past.no glue or correct tape,as well...do you have or have a link you recommend I get them?.I also have a galaxy tab a 7.0 inch tablet that is a couple years older that needs a charge port fixed.also I have a lg Optimus g that needs a repaired cracked screen.but it doesn't respond to touch scrn.needs a digitizer and glass.

There's no way a factory assembled phone comes apart that easily, with that little heat. People will be ripping the digitizer cables and breaking glass when they try what you just did so easily, on a phone that looks like it didn't even have a precut adhesive on it. Laser thermometers are about 30 bucks - and one should bring the surface all the way around the edge to 180 degrees F before attempting to slide that guitar pick all the way around. Steady heat is your friend in this repair - adhesive is also between the foil heat shield - but the really sticky stuff is only about 1/8" on the edge all the way around. If done right, after the screen comes off you should be able to remove that adhesive in one piece. One must be very careful at the top there, that's where the digitizer cables connect - in the video you slid that card down kinda far, because it was easier to keep up against the glass. People ought to know that they don't need to go that deep at first and risk ripping the digitizer flex cable. I Also didn't see the buttons that wrap around or the home button stuck on there - they certainly do also have adhesive on a factory phone and are also very easy to damage when taking off. I would recommend to anyone to spend the extra 5 bucks (for each) and buy the daughter board that has the charge port/soft keys and also a new home button and precut adhesive - to have on hand. You damage any of those things and have to wait for new parts.... It's great what you're doing here, don't get me wrong - I just think you would serve the viewers of this video a whole lot better by starting with a factory phone that's never been opened up.
