    Is the screw below the camera on the mid frame supposed to protrude from the backside when installed? I had to send my phone to Texas for repair and my LCD digitizer broke after I got it back, they refused to repair it a second time. I removed the lcd digitizer myself and noticed a screw protruding from the back below the camera and was pressing on the ribbon part on the rear top of the digitizer leaving a divot in the ribbon.

    Hi I was wondering if anyone can help me please. I have just won a samsung s5 on ebay with a smashed screen but I didnt realise it is a sm-g900v. I also ordered the replacement screen before I realised my mistake and I ordered one for a sm-g900f. So my questions are will it still fit and work ok if I go ahead and do the repair ? and also is there any issues using as sm-g900v phone in the UK as I have also discovered its a US model? Thanks in advance for any help.

    my S5 got water damaged (took it deeper than 3 ft) and at first it was working well, but then/now the screen won't display anything, it's just black, though it makes the sounds when I tap it and play music (from memory I locate it). Could you tell me as to what I should do? Like do I need to open it from the back and remove the water (if there is still some in it) or just put the phone in rice...?

    I have a question. I think my powerbutton is stuck, I already tried to clean it and after I took the powerbutton out and tried to see if I could clean behind it and maybe unstuck the mechanisme. I still have the same problem: I start the phone you see the samsung splash screen, then the phone vibrates twice and restarts. When you take out the battery and put it back in the phone auto starts. I can't get into recovery mode because just before you see the recovery options it restarts. I can enter download mode and flashed original firmware on it, that runs and finishes 100% after that the phone is back in a loop. For some reason twice the phone did continue and started installing all the apps (after trying to restart it a 100 times, I just kept the phone on in the loop, I saw to my suprise that it continued) that it was busy installing apps after that a restart and bam back in the loop. I really think the powerbutton is stuck on the board or something, my question is: can I get to it without removing the screen! I really don't feel like removing the screen. Thank for the create video subscribed!

    I work for a Best Buy location that has the tools from Samsung, (and the training) that allows us to do repairs and keep each phone in warranty. Parts (including adhesives) are actually from Samsung, not some 3M bullshit. Samsung sent us all the tools to do qualified repairs, even under Samsung's warranty. These phones are hard to fix, so we replace the entire assembly and it includes a new battery. hell the LCD's are expensive, but we throw in a new battery

    You should be using alcohol along with the heat. The method you use can work, but often can damage the buttons from the "Sub PBA, AKA charging port board" and realigning the buttons so the led's still light can be difficult. Using a Jig for it is recommended. The jigs can be purchased. Since the adhesive tapes are very strong, you risk breaking the lcd and possibly the digitizer.

    Hi I have just replaced my LCD, after taking the old LCD off I attached the new one to test and all appeared OK. After then fitting new LCD and having now used the phone the main loud speaker doesn't work. I am fairly sure it was before as I had heard the Samsung whistle working when the handset had been switched on. I did a factory reset after repair. I have also done the *#0*# to test speaker with no sound heard. Is there any connection with an LCD and a speaker or is it separate and speaker only connected to motherboard? I have watched this video to see how the speaker is connected but can only see two metal prongs but not what they attach to. Is there any way of testing if the speaker has failed and not the circuitry and have you any suggestions please. thanks in advance

I tried putting a piece of paper underneath the speaker prongs because i thought maybe they weren't touching and nothing. I even turned on the phone without the LCD to make sure the LCD wasn't shorting the speaker. I think there is some sore of short somewhere but I haven't figured out where...

    The screws in the black only hold the mid-frame to the housing on the S5. The only thing holding the screen down is the adhesive to the frame.

    Can you explain the screen part to me bud. I had a crack in my screen but the touch was working fine and there was no dead spots. Can I just replace a top layer of glass that was cracked, or will I need to replace everything completely for the screen? Also, how much do you pay for microphone parts?

    +Adam Arzo The glass and AMOLED (display) are glued together with optical clear adhesive. You have to separate them and glue them back together. Similar to this: kzread.info/dash/bejne/mGScstanZ9qscag.html there are a few other videos in the description in how to glue it together. It is a 100 times easier to buy the complete display. I will throw some links to screens in the description.

    ***** Hey sorry man, I should have said in the beginning. I'm asking because I'm trying to get knowledgeable about how this stuff works because I took my phone in for a repair and got ripped. They told me I needed the full replacement($280) instead of the top layer of glass, even though the touch screen worked and there were no dead spots. They should have just replaced the top layer of glass since that's their job, instead of the entire thing....right? Which would of only been about $20? I got suspicious after they told me it came with a new authentic frame and when I got back home the outer trim where the volume buttons are was still scratched up.

  • @How2Tech

    @How2Tech

    Some repair shops will not do a "glass only" replacement. It is very trick and in about 25% of cases will ruin the display. It can also cause other problems depending on the phone. If you asked them to do a glass only and they didn't or they told you it was authentic and it was not then that is a problem. If I can I prefer to replace the entire display if it is glued together but many can't afford that. Also the original process from the factory does not use liquid adhesive but a clear adhesive sheet which is put into a vacuum chamber and sealed and then cured under UV light so original is always better. The problem is the equipment to do that is $3000+ so it is hard to find a service willing to do it.

    Hi, i have one question for you, hope you can help me, i have an s5, my screen got cracked so i took it to a "qualified technician" he changed only the glass because the lcd was ok, when he gave back the phone, i've notice that a liquid ( like gel ) was leaking from the back of the phone, took it back to him and had that cleaned, he said that was just a cleaning luquid that he uses to work in all the phones, again in my hand the phone don't want to charge, this time i took it to another technician and he told me that he can change the charging port but, yes, there's a but, it only would work for a few days/weeks because the board is totally covered by glue and he needs to change the board, is this true or he wants just some extra $ ? Pd: he showed me the part, and it is covered in glue, in you video is at 21:53.

  • @How2Tech

    +Rigo F. oh man that is not good, the first technician used to much LOCA glue or he did not UV cure it enough. If it is on you board you should power it off and have a tech do a water damage repair. Submerging it in isopropyl alcohol and scrubbing it. Even with that it may be took late or never work right. I would take it back to the first tech and tell him he messed up.....

    I've followed your advice, took it to the first technician and he did a "check test" and said that it wasn't his fault, that maybe another technician did that damage so he wouldn't take responsability for it :@ So, it seems like i'm screwed now, any advice, what would you do ? This looks like a lost cause 8"(
