I exclusively use my Xiaomi 14 in Pro Mode which fixes the issue of photos being overexposed and can also add additional sharpening if that's why people like. I do prefer the softer look of the photos though. That said, I hope Xiaomi will drop an update for the camera software rather sooner than later.

camera update for basic xiaomi 14 is on the way, probably will be here in this month. AISP from 14 ultra will be added to basic 14

Kinda confused? In India Xiaomi 14(12+512) and S23(8+256) are selling at the same price. Considering I will use it for atleast 4 years not expecting a higher exchange value on Xiaomi years later. I do understand it's a more superior phone but should I take the bet on HyperOS powered Xiaomi? Or just go for a last year's flagship which bdw is much smaller and compact

@arghadeepkar1790 Look brother, I am still using my mi 9(motorized selfie cam) in tip-top shape, battery and everything is still running without any problem only a netflix bug where my notification bar becomes transparent...meanwhile, my s23 has 6 white bars and 2 green lines... before that my s21 screen flickered so much I had to change the display...no reviewers will talk about these US brand mobile problems cause it'll harm their income margin and views...but samsung provides very mediocre hardware in their phones which is shameful

If s23 have that price then it's way overpriced. S24 also way more expensive than x14 in my country. Samsung will only suck up to their western customers. Samsung long time ago are what xiaomi is now. Their products down to the most cheap one like keyboard are cheaper than the other cheap brands. Trust xiaomi because keeping honest price is their motto. Xiaomi after 13 series will never go down in price except the china rom. They are maintaining the price because of leica colab and all the highest grade hardware in it.

I have samsung s24, the cameras are just amazing even if I compare to iphone 15 pro. It’s natural in color, detailed and sharp but not over sharpened. Just ❤ it especially with that price point, it is so worth it.

Does the s24 became laggy after a while ? I like the compact factor but the spec is a concern..

Xiaomi 13 was so close in Video capture against S23 last year, now they overtook it. Good job xiaomi!

Well, not always. But you are totally right - some brands rely on this effect a lot.

How about comparing it to the "midrange" phones from Vivo/iQOO, OnePlus, and Sony?

@@TechMishka exactly, but isn't that why you do the comparison videos? 😉 I mean, there are other flagship phones that can record equally good video quality as the Xiaomi 14 and the Samsung Galaxy S24. I'd dare to say that the OnePlus 9 Pro might even have better quality when it comes to video recordings, as well as other smartphones that also are cheaper than the Samsung and the Xiaomi, that also have capability to make better video recordings. 🙂

i think s24 its like other smartphone, always Oversharpen. but Xiaomi 14 its like a mirrorless camera.

It's good to hear another perspective. I've watched most Xiaomi 14 camera reviews now while waiting for mine to arrive! After using Pixels for the past 4 years, I've had enough of the oversharpening and I feel Samsung is also oversharpening images too much. Initially I thought it's great to get sharp photos, but if you need to crop or Zoom in, you really see how bad it is. Really looking forward to the Leica setup on the Xiaomi 14 and some less sharpened images. Afterall you can always add some sharpening if needed

I think you will like a lot their colour science. Xiaomi have stepped up their game about cameras in the last years.

I've read Samsung is bad at taking pictures of fast moving subjects, like kids and pets indoors for instance. That's why I won't pick up a Galaxy S24 Ultra. What do you hink? How does the Xiaomi 14 fares regarding this specific use case? So far I think Pixels are the best.

No, I do not. But humidity here is not that bad.

After watching almost all the reviews of almost all the reviewers i can pretty well say none of their opinion matters...1. If its samsung vs any other android, samsung will always win 2. If its samsung vs pixel then its might be a tie (cause we are not gonna say google bad at their own platform) 3. If its iphone vs android, definitely iphone is gonna win.... it's the same boring content again and again...

I didn't get any of these.

From what I can see from my 32'' professional and calibrated monitor the colors on Xiaomi are more natural than Samsung's. The video is way sharper on Xiaomi, with rich details, stabilization is better. I would like to see a comparison after 2-3 camera updates on Xiaomi, it will eat the Samsung artificial photos as Xiaomi's hardware is far way better (I suggest for future comparison use as a reference photo a raw image from Nikon DSLR as the most accurate color photo...). I'm a photographer, and I know that I could easily take far better photos with Xiaomi than Samsung, in post-production Xiaomi will give me far better photos for enhancement. The entire package from Xiaomi is better, from processing power (global version Xiaomi Snapdragon vs Samsung Exynos), cameras, display, battery, charging... The choice is yours :)

It's clear that considering the difference in camera hardware (the Samsung's is really outdated), you might think that the Xiaomi 14 would have eaten up the S24, but that's not the case here. The photo-video software processing of Samsung, Apple and Google is still really above that of most if not all Chinese manufacturers, and that's the reason why they still allow themselves to use outdated sensors 🤷🏽‍♂️

I have xiaomi 14 for 2 days now, honestly bad phone, foginh on lens, and night mode photos are terrible, i will replace it for samsung s24

I choose s24, the difference only $31 here in Indonesia, the extra $31 for way more better software, better stabilization, better low light camera, better hdr and auto focus on the front cam, and the DEX, gorilla glass victus 2 front and back, 7 years software update, and better speaker, that's all I know after using xiaomi it for a week before I return it and get a refund.

Which country are you based at?

I wanted this xiaomi 14 so badly to be next to my S24 Ultra and I wanted a small phone that can be as close as it gets to my S24 Ultra but it's not. I want when I flip my SIM card I get almost the same experience as the other one. I may end up buying the S24 in the next sales by Samsung

I haven't had issues with the lenses.

The video just reeks of bias towards the Samsung as we can see that the youtuber has said that in multiple shots the over sharpening are taken in as details and while comparing the macro shots the out of focus region has been zoomed in for Xiaomi, Xiaomi 13 Pro itself completes with Samsung s23 ultra in terms of the primary camera and the portrait 3x lense Also we can see that xiaomi 14 clearly out performed Samsung s23 in terms of the video performance and stability. The xiaomi 14 is actually better in terms of the hardware and the ISP compared to the previous generation of the xiaomi 13 Pro but the video is to be asked towards Samsung that even when comparing features and where the xiaomi is better is actually called as even.

I'd say Xiaomi. Mostly because it's the perfect size with the right camera specs, battery capacity, screen capabilities and ergonomic. All while still being one hand operatable. It's not about brands but the hardware being capable. If you prefer Samsung, better off going Plus model than regular S24.

the only dowsides of those phones are as follows: s24 - running in exynos xiaomi 14 - fogging issue with the camera overall xiaomi is ok and less cheaper than s24 but if you really looking for a flagship phone then go with samsung
