Samsung need to stop doing customers injustice with the inferior exynos processor. They should reserve the exynos for the less expensive A series or FE models. Snapdragon across the board for S series.

You don't just have the products at launch, use them for a week, and move on. Great video that you produced there it was very in depth and a good watch. Just bought the S24 coming from the S22 just for the 7 years of updates. The S22 also has the exynos chip, so I'm used to it. I’m a light user. I do have my battery charging set on 80%, so every evening, I charge it, no biggie.

I've personally never found the battery to be an issue on the smaller models. You're charging it overnight anyway, right? You've gotta use the phones very heavily to not make it through a full day. Smart decision with the 80% cap - that'll come in handy in a couple of years time

Great insight regarding the battery life in each model and each use scenario. I have one question though if you dont mind. Is the S23 that you use for the comparison brand new or already used for maybe a couple months? If the later, I wonder if brand new S23 battery will caught up with S24 in heavy tasks since S23 is already more efficient in standby battery life and catching up in day to day use compared to S24 in your video. Thanks 🙏

I got the s24+ (was using a z flip 3 before) as the size, feel, and everything was right for me (+ the updates also I have an NA version)
I was a Samsung user from s7 -s21 and bought a Sony Xperia 1 iii for a change last year. A lot to love about the Sony 4k screen, no selfie hole punch and amazing camera tech (which I rarely used to full potential)but the size of the phone began to make me want a smaller screen/phone again. Also the battery life of the Sony was not the best, around 3hrs SOT. All of the budget phones seem to be massive 6.6 -6.8" screens so started looking for a second s23. None at a reasonable price so got a new open box s24 256gb for £570. Love being back with Samsung. The software is the best android implementation and being able to use dex whilst travelling and the 6-7 hrs SOT means all day use and more. So killer feature for me is compact size flagship.
I'd really like to see a comparison between the SpDragon S24 vs Exynos S24. I live in the Exynos market and I'm really hesitating on wether or not I should buy an imported snapdragon S24

If you're asking the question, I don't think it'll be worth it. Stick with the exynos one (which you'll get better support for too if bought locally)
Great review. I share your opinion about the screen's colors richness. Coming from the S10e the S24 looks more than a LED screen than an OLED screen, even after the update. I'm thinking about returning the S24. Too bad, because I like the compact size of the phone, and 7 years update as well. I still have one question: does the Samsung's original anti-reflecting screen protector makes a difference with the color richness?

The camera changes with everything being less processed makes it 100x better. Of course its personal preference but coming from someone who uses professional cameras, I absolutely hate phones that sharpen images lots. The new s24 toned back the sharpening and even if you lose a tad bit of detail, the photos look much much better.

Here in UK, Samsung offered decent deal £150 off any s23/s23fe model plus I traded in s20fe for which Samsung gave £170, so I went for s23 256gb model because of faster UFS 4.0, 128gb model has slower transfer speeds on UFS 3.1, so £429 great upgrade price in my opinion.

It's less important than camera and overall performance, but won't most people use a case and screen protector, which essentially eliminates the considerations of phone color and feel during operation - and possibly the screen glare and full sun performance too?
@insidetechltd

Yes it does, but there isn't much of a difference compared to last year anyway for those things. You'll still feel a difference with the Plus vs S24 or Ultra vs S24 though. The S24 series improved brightness means you get better outdoor/sun performance, even if you use a screen protector. But the Ultra does not have the anti-glare advantage if you use a screen protector that isn't samsung's anti-reflective one (I showed this in the Ultra review)

I'll be upgrading from the s22+. This has exynos 2200, so this will be an improvement with the newer model sporting the 2400. Every upgrade I have done seems to have exynos, so it won't bother me as much as it will others. But i would love to see the s22/s22+ vs s24/s24 + exynos just to see the differences.

That's a good point - you'll get a much bigger upgrade than someone coming from an S23 (and hopefully none of the drawbacks either!)

@insidetechltd fingers crossed, I thought about going for the ultra, but so many are saying the plus is the way to go. I really would love to see someone do this comparison and not just compare last years model to this years.

I would personally choose the Plus, but that's because I prefer how it looks and feels in the hand. I don't mind about the camera differences, don't need the S Pen and definitely want the cheaper price! I'd love to do an S22 series vs S24 - I totally understand most people will be thinking about upgrading from a 2-year old phone, not last year's phone. My schedule is just so crazy busy though, i'm sorry 😔

@insidetechltd tbh the content that you put out is amazing and is very informative and always gives me and others an idea of what to look out for in a phone and whatnot. I like many others, always want to get the most for our money, and videos like these give us most of what we need. We just don't get the hands-on feel. I do feel some people who do these tech videos overlook the fact that most average consumers won't upgrade every year and will most likely upgrade every 2+ years so if they could look back and compare to older tech it may reach a wider audience.
Why is the mobile signal on every shot taken weaker on the S24 lineup compared to S23? In some cases significantly weaker. Do they have some problem?
I wanted to get the S24+. But I bought the S24 Ultra only because the S24+ I can buy is on the Exynos chip. 😅

Yeah trusting that much money to the chipset that always has a problem is crazy Samsung needs to try their exynos on other markets and build up their chipset reputation first.
I own an s21 ultra and willing to upgrade either to S23 ultra or S24 Ultra. Which phone do you think i should invest in? Price is not a major problem but I still would like to have value for my money.

Hard to say. I think the switch from iOS to Android is the biggest thing by far, so it's going to hinge a lot on how much you prefer Android to iOS. If you don't..it might not seem like that big an upgrade. All I can tell you for sure is that you've bought an excellent, flagship Android phone!
I'm getting both S23 and S24 at the same price here. I could get a 6k INR difference if purchased from some other websites. So virtually, not much of a steal deal in buying S23. I mainly keep my phone on LTE while working, use it for calls, stream OTT on Wifi and take pictures/videos (not a daily activity). Would you still recommend a S23?

I would tell you to go for the phone design you look of more. The phones are otherwise quite similar. But if you care about re-selling afterwards then that's a good reason to get an S24 👍🏼

Dang where has time gone. S3 was one of my favorite phones.
Thank you so much. I will skip the S24 series for this year. Let us see what Samsung does for the S25 series.
I will never buy another phone with an Exynos again. So when I decide to upgrade from my S23+ I'll most likely be switching brands as I don't want to be forced to buy the paving slab Ultra.

I am coming, from a s23 ultra and i am on a a24 ultra and i can tell you the s24 ultra its a big improvement over the s23 ultra, with battery everyday almost 8 to 9 hour sot and if i dont use it can use it without charging it for almost 2 days the s23 ultra was good buth the s24 ultra is much better, even if on paper the snapdragon 8gen3 is more power hungry i think its the ai 1 day en 5 hours ago i charched for the last time and i am stil on 14 procent.
AND I wonder if a Company may or Could produce an Anti Glare screen protector as on the ultra?
@insidetechltd
2 ай бұрын
I see no reason why you couldn’t. You get glass screen protectors, so I’m sure it would be possible to build the anti-reflective properties into the screen protector. I imagine it’s quite expensive though otherwise everyone would already be doing this

4-5 h SOT could be fine, it depends what you're using it for. More battery intensive tasks might give you 5 hours, whereas lighter ones could give you 10 hours. Some warming during a video call is normal I think

Yeah, Samsung tone down the sharpening but tone up the contrast @.@ Just too much. S24 and S24p seems to produce less natural photos compared to the S24U.

very happy w/ my 24 ultra, but im a stylus guy so 🤷
I bought an iPhone 15 Pro 2 weeks ago, but I just can't get along with it, too many features I am missing like LED for notifications, and scan thing to unlock the phone. I hate the face ID, it is a pain in the butt. So I was thinking of switching back to Samsung, but Jesus, the camera is horrible for that money. It was okay 5 years ago, but not today. We have cheaper phones with a better camera... too blurry! I also dislike HDR, even on the IPhone 15 pro it just ruined my videos...I think maybe I should stick with my OnePlus 6 a bit longer ^^"

@@insidetechltd It is too big 😭😭 I returned my iPhone, and hope OnePlus will bring something smaller again, next year 😔
I think I'm getting the S24 (upgrading from S10) because the camera is the most important feature for me, and although S23 certainly does better in some situations, overall I like more of the look of the pictures taken with S24. I prefer a natural look as I take a lot of scenery pictures in nature. My sister has the S23 and I really wasn't a fan of the sharpening effect. My S10 also has an Exynos and never had any issues with it, but it is a shame cause I saw that the snapdragon version of S24 takes even better pictures :/ Thanks for the very detailed and helpful comparison video!

S23 PWM sucks, 240Hz, come on Samsung. S24 is another 💩 492Hz. 12:18 S24+ "blacks" looks gray, but on S24U are real blacks. Excellent comparison, btw.

Which One I Buy S23+ or S24+ Exynos My Priorities Are Gaming Camera And UI
@insidetechltd

No real difference with the UI since that’s software-based. For gaming the S24 series is definitely superior - including on Exynos. With the camera…it depends which processing you prefer. Some would argue it’s better on last year’s phone, but there are clearly improvements too, so it’s down to personal preference

Because Samsung wanted to save some money by using its own chip for the S24 😔
So the 2019 galaxy s10 that I'm still using has higher resolution than the new s24?? Galaxy S10 has a 3K Higher Resolution Quad HD+ display with 3040x1440 pixels and 550 pixels per inch, with 4.4 Mega Pixels, This is why I intend to keep my phones for many yrs. It always seems Samsung takes two steps forward and then follow with 4 steps backwards. I'm so used to my s10 resolution and the way images pop on the display, then when I finally make the jump to the newer models I feel cheated!!!!

Resolution is only one spec though - plenty of others still give you a substantial quality increase overall
