Additional review notes:
Galaxy S24 vs S24+
Display - out of the box, they have the same resolution
FHD+ vs QHD
Ultra has QHD as well and all are flat
6.8” vs 6.7” vs 6.2” display - but boxy corner gives Ultra more real estate
Same 120Hz and same peak brightness 2600 nits
Bezels look different
One hand test
boxy edges make reaching easier
Same 4 colors + online exclusive colors linked below - I have a link below that will give you an enhanced trade in credit and double the storage for free
Titanium vs Aluminum
Glass = Victus 2 vs Victus 2 on back and Gorilla Armor on front (75% reflection reduction)
All have the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy processor, but depending on the region, the 24 & 24+ will have the Exynos 2400 chip sadly
Same AI features
weight = 5.93oz vs 6.24oz vs 8.22oz
45W charging vs 25W charging
12GB vs 8GB RAM (run a test to show the difference)
More storage - 256/512 vs 256/128 vs 256/512/1tb
Camera test
All have 12MP front, 12MP ultrawide, and 10MP 3x
200MP vs 50MP wide angle
Bonus - 50MP 5x
Macro?
Battery test (5000 vs 4900 vs 4000mAh)
Wifi 7 vs 6E
S24 lacks UWB
All have 7 years of updates
All have the same AI software features like real time call translation, circle to search, photo editing, chat enhancement, and summarizing
Price = $799 vs $999 vs $1299
Power users will want the s-pen and superior cameras. I certainly do.
Between the + and regular models
I think most users will not notice the increase in resolution
I think most users will not notice the extra ram
Faster charging is great, but I typically charge on a wireless stand overnight, so these are identical in that regard
I would personally prefer a more one handed phone, so I think the S24 might be the move here
The 24 is still a meaningful jump in performance and quality over the 23 FE but I will make a comparison video with that in the future.
unless you want the larger display for media or multitasking, or if you really expect to use the extra ram and faster charging

The differences are small, but I find myself holding on to phones longer and longer because the upgrades aren't substantial. I mainly use my phone for work-related applications and browsing, and everything runs smoothly. I've just upgraded from a S21U (exynos) to the S24U and it has confirmed to me that the S21U is still a very good phone. Done a few side by side speed tests (no benchmarks obvs.) and it was dawn near as quick. Screen also holds up very well too. If it wasn't for the fact the cameras have been playing up for the last year, after an extended trip to the bottom of a swimming pool, I'd have been more than happy to run it until the support ends.

I was really interested to hear that the S24, S24 Plus and S24 Ultra all get similar battery life from your tests. The main consideration for me with buying the S24 Plus over the S24 would be that it has a bigger battery, but I guess that doesn't matter as much as I thought it did. I'm not in the market for a new phone because my heroic S20 is still going strong, but if I were, the S24 would be my preferred model because I like the smaller size. 👍

Definitely a good comparision. For the battery test, you should note that both Ultra and Plus can be extended if you use FHD res. To make it more comparable use same resolution next. Your comparing the phones itself, so it should be "comparable". It might be possible that with the same resolution the Ultra and Plus still doesn't perform well enough. Just make sure to eliminate other variables. For the next video, I think the S23 Ultra vs S24 Ultra would really be a good one. This is in the perspective of buying from a previous generation of phones of course. S24 Ultra seem less compelling, because of it's just generally 23 with AI. With the lower price of the 23 Ultra and mostly the same specs, it is still good for people upgrading from previous generations.

But between the battery life to really starting to go and the sale on the S24 being too good to pass up, I finally made the call to change. Plus on Samsung's website I'm getting $200 trade in value (most places I'm lucky to get $40). @@wanderlust7020 I just pre-ordered the S24+ to replace for my 4-ish year S10+ as I have very good deal from where I am. Gotta say, I'll miss my S10+ cause the only reason for changing is that no security update anymore from SS.

I got the s10+ Verizon deal I got was, with the unlimited ultimate plan, and trade in my s10, j get $1000 off a pre-order of the s24+. And they double the storage, so 512gigs for me. Pretty much got a new phone for free, just 100 bucks out of pocket because of taxes.

Great comparison thank you! pd: for measuring battery loss I think the usage of % is not correct as they have different sizes batteries 1% of 1000mAh is 10maAh 1% of 2000mAh is 20maAh so the one with a bigger battery lost more in total by losing 1% than the smaller one

Using % is correct in terms of practical daily usage. You don't care about the actual mAh that you have left in your phone, you care about the %

@@RezaQorib96 Not really what I meant, you do care about the % as an user. But a phone with a bigger capacity by definition will lose less % in comparison with one with a smaller one. So when you see the %, you must factor in the fact that batteries are different sizes, so if they both lose the same amount of %, it means the one with the bigger battery actually isn't as efficient, and lost technically more battery than the other one. In reality you, again, as the user, would expect that the phone with the bigger battery to drain its % at a longer rate. So yes, you do care about the actual mAh when comparing % loses between phones

@@muchis I think it's already common knowledge that more advanced phones take up more power, so people shouldn't look for the more advanced phone for the battery life. However, I appreciate Samsung in calibrating the correct battery capacity (and the power usage of the phone itself) that makes the three phones almost have identical battery life from 100% to 0. I think they first set an ideal battery life time for the most common usage, then they spend the effort to design the phones to meet that number

1:29 Looked at those in-store display photos and was blown away by them. Were they taken with the phone and enhanced in any way by Samsung, or are they shown as they are taken by the phone?

Really great video. I'm reassured that my S24 purchase is the correct one, especially coming from a S10+. I don't want a large phone and I won't use the extra features on the S24 Ultra.

the anti reflecting screen protector works for s24 and s24+ right? i thinking about buying it for the normal s24

It might work, but it definitely won't be as native protection on Ultra

That anti-reflection is insane! Edit: I prefer the look of the aluminum as well. I might go for the 24+. The fact that they brought back 2k displays to a model lower than the Ultra is dope in my opinion.

Being an Ultra user I actually want to go back to smaller phones and the better brightness of the new generation would be a big plus when being outside, but the anti-reflection is an even better improvement. I guess now I need to wait for the S25 getting that anti-reflection as well.

I read somewhere that a magsafe case affects the S Pen on the S24 Ultra. How is it for you with your magsafe case? Thanks!

The focus issue you suffered with the Ultra seems to be with where the 'close' object was in relation to the middle of the frame. The object on the Plus camera was in the middle of the shot, whereas on the Ultra, the 'close' object was off to the left, and so the Ultra was focusing on the object in the middle of the frame, as it should be - unless you selected the object on which to focus, via your screen (which is not apparent) - if you were using autofocus, the cameras both appear to function as intended

HI, please time stamp your videos. 11:33 gave me an encourage to buy the phone. What a great comparison there! Also you can compare base model with base iPhone 15 as well, especially for battery consumption.
