Finally someone who is giving us something else other than S24 Ultra. I came from an iphone 15 pro max and was disappointed in the device so decided to try an S24 Ultra. I thought I needed to get the ultra to justify moving away from the 15PM. Whilst I liked the experience of using an android the ultra was just too heavy and I hated the box shape. I returned it and went back to my 15PM but just couldn't forget my android experience. Someone suggested the S24 plus and I absolutely love it. The screen is just awesome. I haven't experienced any issues with NFC or any issues with Exynos but I am not a heavy user, just your average gal. It is lovely in the hand and I still have all the things I liked about using Android. iPhone is now shoved to the back of the drawer along with my Apple watch, I am getting used to a Watch 6 Classic. I too have had my eyes opened to the world of the green robot.

​@PeteMatheson and the problem is the part of the phone that you are facing to reader it takes longer to read nfc signals because the nfc antenna on samsung phone are a bit lower if you put the part where the wireless charging coils are it will work 100% that problem is by design that most android manufacture don't put the nfc antenna like how the iPhone have it or Chinese phones

S24 plus is awesome. This year it has the same specs as the ultra just without the stylus and zoom lens.

After doing some research, I learned that the NFC reader on the S24 line is located on the opposite side of the camera module. So basically, to the right of the cameras.

I had both an iphone and a galaxy at the same time (work phone and personal). And the iPhone is a very boring phone. That's the best description.

If you're using Google Pay, that might be the issue. I always use Samsung wallet/pay, and it works every time.

@@x50nathan Not really. Apple NFC is on top of the phone. I just point and it works. On my Samsung, I have to bend the wrist and kinda push the phone forward for it to read.. You just don't want to accept the fact that Apple has the NFC on the right spot and blaming it on the creator of this video.

I had the S22+… the dreaded Exynos version. I can’t stress enough how awful the experience was. My 2019 honor 20 was way faster. It was shocking. I had to take it back within 3 days and get another one… which I also returned within 3 days. I had undeniable video proof. I don’t think I’ll ever get an Exynos version of a Samsung device ever again.

I'm glad you pointed out the issue with the NFC location on Samsung phones. I have a very similar issue with my ZF5. This seems to be a recent development as my S22U seemed to not have this issue which is rather jarring. I wish it were at the end of the phone so it were easier :(

Haha you guys are cute when you say that, I’m sorry, but the Samsung tablets or any other tablet does not even remotely compare to an iPad. Just because you can do a few more things on an android tablet, which one percent of people would prefer (maybe), doesn’t mean it’s worth buying over an iPad. For example, I would rather own a 2018 iPad Pro vs a 2024 Android tablet. THATS how utterly trash Android is. In fact, even comparing a Samsung tablet to an iPad is disrespectful in and of itself, they are not competitors in any aspect. It’s like comparing a 2024 Lexus to like a 2005 Toyota.

If your looking at older tablets then ipads tend to be better but thats definitely not the case anymore with what Samsung has been pushing out. I mostly use my iPad for media consumption but I do get a bland feeling from its os and its limited customization.

@@ZxAMobile Bro literally knows nothing. iPad multitasking features are THE MOST GARBAGE THING I HAVE EVER USED. Not to mention iPadOS has very little apps compared to Android. The only thing that is better in recent iPads is the better processors which are literally useless because you cant even maximize its capacity with its useless multitasking feature. Editing software export time is the only thing that iPads do better but literally anything else is trash on that

Custom notis are fixed by searching for notification categories and turning it on in advanced settings and you can customize to your hearts content...custom sounds at least

The Exynos SoC isn't bad this time. It just processes photos not as well, needs about 15% more battery, slows down the fingerprint and face unlock a tiny bit, has a less stable internet connection, and heats up a little more. But other than that, it's not buggy or extremely hot this time.

I've had the small S24 since launch and have never once had an issue with payment like you have. I wonder if something's wrong with your unit....

I loved my s21 ultra but the size was just to much long term as you could really feel it in the pocket. So traded for the s23 standard last summer and love it. Though still not quite one handed for typing.

Just upgraded to an iPhone 13 Mini, and I’m really enjoying the smaller size and lighter weight. As you say, being able to multi task is a godsend. Thanks for the content.

As a S22 Ultra user and my dad got the S24 Ultra, I feel like the S24+ is the best Samsung this year (excluding the S24 Ultra because of the extra features and the S Pen). The battery on that phone (4900 mAh) is practically the same as the S24 Ultra (500 mAh) while being slim and not too small and not too big, just the right size. And about the NFC, my S22 Ultra rarely or never had this issue. Still yet to try it on the S24 Ultra tho.

I bought s23fe and I have the same problem with NFC, even the case bothers The NFC. I switched from iPhone SE 2020 and basically everything is an improvement except paying. I've had the phone for 1.5 months now. and I highly recommend it, especially since its price is great. But I realy miss Apple Pay.

@@andyH_England i've had s24 exynoss now couple months. It's been hot early summer here in finland and I have absolutely no problems with exynoss. It's bit warm yea but whatever this is just nitpicking at this point. Not a single thing I hate about this phone I would never skip it just for the processor because there is zero reasons

If you're interested in customization and flexibility, the Samsung S24 is the way to go. The iPhone and iOS don't let me do what I want. No problem using NFC on my base S24. The integration with the Watch 6 and Tab S9 is excellent. And the AI features are quite useful.

NFC works perfectly for me. Maybe its your unit.

@@PeteMatheson You're doing it wrong, you don't need to touch the reader, just go near it. I've never had an Issue on my Pixel 6 Pro and now my S24 Ultra

How far these products have come from the early days of iPhone vs. Galaxy. Apple drove Android and Samsung to push from objectively inferior devices to responsive and quite polished powerhouses. Apple proceeded to evolve and elevate what was at first the only phone of its kind. The battle between these giants has never been so close.

Glad to finally hear someone call out the majority of all the AI nonsense, for what it is. I personally think, with exception for some potential niche uses, that most the benefits will be see for the backend operations of companies. Not directly with the end user.

I have the S24U and used the Circle to search once to see what it was like, and I have not used it since. I have not used any other features as I want to think for myself rather than defaulting to AI. And yes, if someone had that call screening service when I was ringing them to do a job, I would move on to another supplier.

I think by the S25 line release Exynos, should be completley fine. It has been improving overtime, I just wish they actually worked on it more in R&D and only released it when it was ready.

The E2500 is a new 3nm, and so far, Samsung has very poor yields. They are continuing in the hope they can make the chip viable and are now testing, but I would not be surprised if they go straight to 2nm with the E2600 in 2026.

NFC issues you face is due to difference between placement of nfc in samsung and iphones. Iphones have it on the top while Androids have it just below the level of cameras or in the middle. Tap accordingly

Samsung NFC sensor sits in the middle of the phone, not at the top.

Incorrect. NFC sensors on the s24 series were moved to the right of the camera modules. The wireless charging coils are in the middle of the phones.

How? After I activated my S24u it immediately deactivated the LTE on my ultra watch 2 and its a paperweight. Consider selling it if there isn't a way to make them work.

i wanted the s24 plus because of the extra perks, the ultra was wildly big and sharp as heck. i got the regular s24 and it just feels GREAT. its identical to my old iphone 13 pro.

Not sure why you're having issues with NFC. I use both Google Pay and Samsung Pay and never had any issues with either or.

The Exynos struggles, according to my research: 1/ In the Summer when ambient temps are high. 2/ Using 4G/5G, it uses much more battery and runs 2-5c higher than the excellent X75 modem in the SD8G3. Watch the LoverOfTech test, where the Exynos got extremely hot and had a worse battery than rivals.

My S23 NFC has been very reliable for google wallet. It works even without tapping (justing holding it close to the machine)

Being a tech guy and not knowing you can just unblurr the photos in settings…

I have been using android devices including Samsung for the last 10 years and never experience any trouble with NFC payments. I think you just gave me a great video idea and I might just switch to an iPhone but only for a couple of day's. Great video as always ❤

Do you use Samsung Pay? From my experience I think it is Google Pay which has the issue. I still have to use Google pay due to other travel passes and cards etc, but it is frustrating at times.

You can enable swipe down anywhere in one UI natively. I have always done this since at least as far back as the A50. Currently using the Z fold 3, and have it active. You do not need a launcher for that.

@girlsdrinkfeck True. I have used nova prime from 2012 all the way through 2018 when I made lean launcher my main launcher. I know all it offers. I only replied to that comment as it was posted as a perk of the launcher over one UI. It is not. One UI does that natively. You can also double finger swipe straight into quick toggles natively on One UI. One UI has come a long way from Touch Wiz.
