Samsung Galaxy S21 FE vs S21 Camera Comparison (Auto vs Pro Mode)

Howzit everyone, welcome to this mini camera comparison with the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE and the standard Galaxy S21. Both have a standard rear triple camera setup with the same main wide angle sensor, ultra wide angle, and telephoto. However, the standard S21 has a larger telephoto lens capable of 3X hybrid zoom, but the S21 FE is capable of 3X optical zoom. Do the minor differences really matter? I show you photos and videos in both auto and pro mode, so you can see for yourself.
You might be wondering what is a MINI camera comparison. Well, I’m trying out this new concept with the goal of bringing you more camera comparisons that I otherwise would not have the time to get to if I had to do my normal FULL comparisons. These mini comparisons will not have fullscreen photos or videos, just side-by-side views. There also will not be any cropped images or all the styles and scenarios I share in my full comparisons. This is meant to cutdown on the time I normally take to shoot all the photos and videos, and especially cuts down on my video editing time. This is not to say these phones don’t deserve a full comparison, it’s just that there are so many that I would like to get to but there’s just not enough time for me to get to them all. So, this is my attempt to bring you as many comparisons as possible. Hopefully you understand, but feel free to comment and give me your feedback.

Best comparison i found! You really cleared up my doubts about the EIS on front cam on S21 FE! Other youtubers said that its not stabilized and didn't mentioned that it is stabilized at 1080p!
Great review man! You helped me to decide and go for the s21fe. I was between the s22 and the s21fe but I prefer the s21fe because of the pricing and the cameras are actually kinda the same
Thank you for going into so much detail for the low light images/videos. A lot of reviewers tend to skip nighttime camera quality tests which is what I am most interested in as phone cameras these days tend to all be really good in daylight, whereas nighttime phone cameras still have room for noticable improvement.
Great job Grant. It definitely seems like Samsung made the right choices with respect to pulling some of the camera features that wouldn't be a total deal breaker. Nice to see the FE competing well here.
Thank you for these comparisons. These will come handya after few years for lot of people. Can you test out lg v50 with gcam 8.1 for all the lenses with something like pixel 6 pro? That would be great. Nowadays lg v50 is rocking in used markets.
FE is slightly better in details skin texture and color

To my eyes, the FE did a slightly better job with the photos though, very close. Also, I thought it did better with the shadows in video. Night video was better with the S21 on rear for me. FE was good on front-facing at night. Stability seemed better on the FE.

can you please provide the low light samples of s21 fe in Google drive?
i notice more DOF/ background blur on 21FE front camera, but its not stabilized on 4k.

I must say they’re literally the same except that the s21 has slightly better details and control over exposure 💯 but the front, the s21 fe seems better 🤔 thanks for this comparison. Sir!

In my country they are the same price S21 FE 6 ram against S21 8 ram? Which should I go for? I'm a guy of bigger screens but I really care about the camera department too...🥴

Why is the audio on the S21 FE significantly louder and less distant than the S21? Surely that can't be the difference in the microphones.

We are using a lot the ultra wide rear camera for videos of vacations, weekends and vlogging, is the most flexible lens. But there are many diferences of quality and sharpeness betwen smartphones Please makes a comparison to discover wich one is the best UW for videos
Tho Fe got great exposure , but still s21 outplayed Fe is ultra wide nd colours...
I think fe was lack of Hdr a little bit than s21 S21 has a slightly shaky video
love the pro comparison! s21 is slightly ahead, test samsung's expert raw app they released for the s21's man! new pro mode for samsungs

If you mean photos of the phones, then it's correct. The whole video displays which phone took the photo/video. The phones can't take photos of themselves. 😉
post processing as always kills samsung cameras both cameras are terrible

No, Samsung moved to the the larger 50MP Samsung GN5 sensor on the S22 and S22+.

s21 FE is better in almost every spec tbh
From 11:20, we see how electronic stabilization negatively impacts the quality of videos from Samsung and Android smartphones in general. And indeed, the pro mode even without any adjustment is really the most suitable if you want the rendering as representative as possible of the real scene. 🙏🏽
