Nice battery life! I do a lot of writing and photo processing, so that big touchpad is going to be a dealbreaker for me. But yeah, I think there should be more options for ports on both sides, I can see how that would make it more difficult to cram everything into the chassis. Bigger isn't a problem for me because I love the nice screen real estate. My laptop is for working on, the entertainment options aren't all that important, but I can see how that would be an important aspect for gamers. As I move into making more videos, the camera recording options could prove valuable. Having a touchscreen on a laptop hasn't really been something I use as much as I thought I would, but my laptop is a 2-in-one and that's when I use it most. Also, being a 2-in-one, it lays flat for me to share something with someone on the other side of the table. The Galaxy share stuff is pretty cool, similar to how we can share stuff between Apple devices. Great review, very valuable stuff.

Going to do a Marathon of Tom's videos to see if I get the 14-15 hours. Anyone noticed a difference between edge and chrome? I'd like to see comparison of some x86 apps running on latest Intel laptop CPUs vs on Snapdragon. How good is the translation layer? Because many Windows apps are not getting an ARM port any time soon: it's not like anyone can drive the transition to ARM like Apple were able to do. Windows ARM will still be niche in 2 years, plenty of consumers and business customers will still be playing safe and buying Intel/AMD. Most devs are not going to port their apps to ARM for a tiny percentage of users.

I don't mind the large trackpad, but I am not keen on the diving board design and would a prefer a haptic feedback version. I wish Samsung would produce a 360-model with stylus support and face logon camera. I would go with the 16-inch 1 TB model to get the Snapdragon X Elite with the higher performance GPU. Qualcomm need to significantly improve GPU performance in the next gen X Elite processors and include support for ray tracing.

@sugarbait That is because Apple does the trackpad right. There has to be the right size ratio based on the size of the laptop. Plus since this trackpad is off-center it makes the trackpad look way worse being larger.

No haptic trackpad is a deal breaker for me. It would have cost them like 3 more cents per laptop to put that in. Mind blowing to be selling a premium grade laptop in 2024 without a haptic trackpad.

You're not overreacting. It IS a dumb design. MacBook's large trackpads are symmetrical with the design and size of their body. That off-center trackpad on the Samsung just looks wrong. Furthermore these companies that make Windows laptops should do their own designs. When a company tries to copy a competitor's hardware look and feel it ends up being a bad clone. Great video!
