Nobody should buy a mid range phone expecting outstanding performance and speed. As long as the build quality is good, cameras are good, and the display is good, that's the three main things normal people want to see

The best thing i like about the A54 is the form factor, the rounded edges, and the overall design
The A54 is awesome. It has just about the same battery life as the S23 Ultra. I know you threw in the towel with the A53, but I loved it; it was laggy at first, but updates smoothed it out. In fact, I'd still have the A53 except for the fact Samsung gave me $250 trade-in for it enabling me to get the A54 for $199. Too good to pass up.
The A54 has a microSD slot. a very nice consideration for those who like to store their media locally in case of weird radio dead zones or just to have to not worry about storage.
Good to hear the 1380 is running smoother than the 1280 in the A53 given they're both 5mn. The IMX766 is a proven lower cost main sensor in a lot of other non-US phones, so not surprising it's doing alright here. We know why they're leaving certain features out of this model. 😉
I'm not a tech person at all, but I've had a LG phone for the last couple of years. It was OK. I bought my 54 last week. This phone is amazing. I can't afford the standard flagship phones. I would definitely recommend the 54 to anyone. Thanks for the review on this phone. 🤘

Indeed...
This phone checks all the boxes for a basic user (screen, battery life and decent camera).
I always love that you approach these devices with an open mind.
Had this phone since Tuesday. This is a SPECtactular phone (see what I did there lol). Bear in mind I have upgraded from my A70 which I've had since 2019 (still works great but was time to upgrade), so am speaking from someone who has never used an upper tier/flagship phone. Everything is flawless on this phone. Cameras are fantastic, amazing 120hz, battery is great, speakers are really good its great for media consumption. I find the Exynos to be fast and responsive, I haven't suffered any lags so far. Phone feels premium in the hand compared to other A-Series phones. I paid 449 pounds (UK) for the 8/128 Awesome Lime colour, but came bundled with Galaxy Buds 2, which took the sting out of the price. Overall I really have no complaints, been super happy all week.

Have you tested the 5G performance of this phone?
Thanks for this vid, after watching this and a few other recent ones within the last 1-3 months I think I'm going with this to replace a very ailing iPhone SE 2nd gen 2020. People in comments really do feel some kind of way about the cpu in this phone but it's done stuff fine in vids I've seen. The screen and cameras are beautiful in footage I've seen. My needs aren't very demanding these days, I'd like to just do the basics smoothly. Just browse online, youtube, occasional cat pic, occasional call, browse social media some. I mostly text/IM these days. Never really been a phone gamer, I find most of them predatory pay 2 win crap, but in footage I saw the a54 play COD Mobile at medium settings at 90fps and it looked good enough for me. Samsung and other companies really stepped up their updates, I remember when it was a crapshoot on any androids other than flagships if they'd be supported much if at all. Long time viewer but I mostly lurk, a genuine thanks again for saving me money on not even bothering to buy the A53 last year
Thanks for the review. Nairobi rocking with you. Phones like this especially dual sim are 🎉🎉
I've had mine for about a week.. first phone I've bought since 2020 lol. Works great for me!
Hey buddy, I got the A53 for my mother and got to say it's been great so far , which has lead me to look at phones going forward. I'm currently using the note 20 ultra and it's still solid to this day , but when it does decide that it's not a phone anymore if you know what I mean I'll probably go for the A series , I used my phone for Editing my DJI video files , would a A series be ok ? Looking forward to hearing from you Chris
I've been rocking this for 6 months. I love it. Handles everything well games well cod mobile on high graphics. No complaints
im considering buying the A54 next year, and it seems like an overall good phone, but the only thing thats slighly putting me off is the processor. All the reviews ive seen have all mentioned lag or stuttering. I currently own an A50 and its been great, it hardly ever lags, even after 4 years of owning it. I use it everyday mainly just for daily tasks, using instagram, pinterest, taking photos quite alot, and the occasional casual game, and no lag or stuttering. The battery is pretty decent and lasts me all day, considering its only 4000. Ive only ever had mid-range phones, as the S series is just too expensive, and i dont need all the features it comes with. I also dont want to get a phone thats any older then last year. I only like samsung phones and wouldn't want to consider a pixel or an iphone, as i just like samsungs ui too much I need to know that the A54 will preform even better then my A50 which is already good with no lag, as i dont want to upgrade to a phone that occasionally lags when my 4 year old A50 doesn't even really lag.
The average consumer does not buy a FLAGSHIP phone. This phone will check the boxes for most . GREAT REVIEW
Very basic question. Can you uninstall the Samsung apps to use Google apps (mostly). I have a Galaxy S9 and cannot. It's a bit of a pain occasionally.
Got mine for $49 from metro by tmobile on the $40 plan. Then got a 400gb memory card from Costco for $39 on sale. Now I have 528gb all for under $100 and it will be factory unlocked after six months. Not bad at all.
I’ve just bought this phone as a second device thanks for the Review 👍
straight to the point review, hate these robotic reviews man, love yours gonna get mine this week
I own a14 5g i realy realy like it since i upgrade from alcatell 1s 2020 32 gb...all feels smooth for me!
i wouldnt mind this phone if it was the size of the s23 ..
I'm considering between a54 or pixel 7a I'm not a gaming person more on social media consumption but battery life is important for me but I don't like that the phone is not snappy and slow is a hard decision any advice thank you 😊
Sometimes manufacturers can manage to give an balanced optimization in their hardware and software. Take a look of Google Pixel 1-3, their hardware is ancient, single camera, but the phone coming out of it, better than flagship. Some community managed to port the Pixel Camera app to non google phone back in 2018, and it was stunning. There is another story of 4K video taping omitted from the hardware, back in 2013, I owned an LG G2, a flaghip phone with Snapdragon 800, it only managed to record 1080p 60fps but if you trick the software a bit, you can push it to 4K 30fps, however, LG didnt optimize their software, instead they do 4k 30fps in their bext Flagship, which was LG G3. Btw 4K 30fps was a thing 10 years ago, with ancient CPU and GPU, 4k 60fps on current chipset, should be an easy task. Oh ya Exynos 1380 is on par with Snapdragon 778G, 778g beats Snapdragon 845 or even 845, while phone with 845 can record 4K at 60fps even my former phone XZ2 Compact with 845 can record 1080p at 960fps (super slow motion).
Ya I'm loving mine, speed is great, just hoping it doesn't degrade over time. My only complaint so far is it is a bit of a chunky boy with a case. Giving up the S10+ for it was tough, but no choice since the s10 battery was dying.

@Tan Coyer I actually found a slimmer generic silicone case on ebay and I'm still really happy. Not gonna lie, s10+ is still missed a tad, but this is a solid enough upgrade for Android 13 and all. Still enjoying this
I'm using the 256GB /8GB RAM UK model. (£280 used but unopened, bought privately) Love it.Can't see any reason to spend double on the S23 Ultra. Just not worth it to me.
I purchased the A54 5g from Verizon yesterday and I'm loving it. Display is phenomenal, great battery, such a solid device. Stereo speakers are amazing!! So glad Samsung made such an improvement to an affordable mid range device!! Many cool features , still learning about them!! Coming from a Galaxy A50, this is amazing and doesn't even compare!! Hoping it will last at least 3 to 4 years without any issues!! Kudos to Samsung!!
The exynos 1380 chip in the a54 is on par with the snapdragon 778 chip in the a52s and that phone gets a lot of praise.

I just got one from metro for $89. It's for my kids, so it's not bad.
What do you think of the Samsung Galaxy a54 5g now?
is it worth switching from the a71 5g
Maybe the bokeh (portrait) effect looks more flat because of the lack of a depth sensor. Just like it lacks a proximity sensor. For $450, it should have both. Also, ppl have preferences, but which one is technologically superior is not subjective. The Pixel 7 is as good or better in most ways.
@gwine9087

Advice me this A54 or A73 am a tiktoker I need a very good camera aspect for a budget .....pls
It looks like Samsung did a much better job with the A54 than they did with the A53. And overall, the A54 looks like a solid phone but I prefer stock android with Pixels over the bloat ware and lesser RAM management on Samsung phones. I had an S21 FE and on One UI 5.1 it ran smoothly and got decent battery life. But RAM management was always showing half full at 3GB despite me only using maybe 30-40 GB of memory and that was with the digital RAM boost up to 6GB. Samsung makes great phones but like you said, personal preference is the issue and then me, I think Pixels are overall better. I also think Samsung could have dropped the price to $399 or even $349 because at that price range it would be hard to knock the A54 for everything it does offer.
Are there any other Samsung phones similar to this?
I keep saying this but exynos processors are not bad. People are too caught up in the snapdragon outperforming Exynos processors Hype.
I pray to have that phone 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I Luv my Samsung galaxy A54 5g" Samsung upgraded the cooling system with a large copper vapor chamber on the Galaxy A54 5g ' All the Previous galaxy A Series had a narrow copper heat pipe. Samsung did a great job with the Galaxy A54 5g 💯
I got mine in thailand , got the green, 256 Gb @$440.
It is definitely better than I thought it was going to be because I'm not a mid-range guy I would rather buy a flagship from a few years ago but this changed my mind it's a s23 light all day
I downgraded from the Note 20 Ultra to this device in the 8/256 configuration and it only cost me around 230 dollars. Sold the note for far more than what I pad and it's a steal at that price. Run the Galaxy App Booster with GoodLock and it's going to smooth things out even more!
'This is the 50 megapickle shoot' got me
Noti gang on deck pixel gang on deck
I love this device throw it in a case and it looks like an s 23 clone
Does this have snapdragon?
It does not mean it is 5nm it is a flagship processor, nanometer basically means the effiency of the SoC and not the Power of it
@TechnologyMan9575
Жыл бұрын
Correct. 5nm does not equate flagship processor. But a nanometer is a unit of length.
@kennethmanuel1094
9 ай бұрын
Yup, 5nm is just metric scale of how the chip was manufactured, performance and efficiency is determined not only by the nm size the chip architecture itself, ngl exynos 1380 is not a bad chip but you can't expect to say it's a flagship class chip when it pales in comparison with the Qualcomm Snapdragon chips and the apple M series chip.
It is said that there is a problem with the wifi strength, can those who buy this device give me information?
GOOD for what gaming, streaming, but certainly not for what a PHONE should be. I had a Samsung Galaxy 6 for some 10 years, which was very basic and very intuitive. I don't game or stream, and my A54 is anything but good- HORRIBLE is more like it. Doesn't come with a real manual (or charger) and so far I haven't found a proper manual for dummies
Nothing can touch the pixel photography point blank period. Even though I only have a 4a 5g, this phone is still Boss. The A54 look solid, just that portrait shot definitely doesn't look right. Everything else looks ok I guess. Still not gonna take me away from Google Pixels.

The a54 5g exynos chip isn't what I would call flagship at all! If you do heavy benchmarks it doesn't do well, the s23 is at most 5 times faster, fr. For average users this phone is perfect. Not for gaming if you want it to last years.
