I think part of the premium you are paying for this mid-range device is the 3 year guarantee of OS/ software updates and 4 year guarantee of security updates. That is why i think this is more expensive than other mid rangers aside from other features such as the IP rating and 120hz refresh rate. No other mid ranger can guarantee such updates.

Not entirely correct - xiaomi also promised the same 3 year OS and 4 year security updates to 11T and 11T pro, and 11T is much cheaper than A52S. And the previous version A52 which i bought for 320 USD also has the same 3+4 years upgrade, compared to this 455 USD A52s.

Perdi a confiança no Xiaomi. Não adianta ter um bom hardware, se o software (SO) não é otimizado e com bug's. Não sei se Xiaomi vai dar suporte de e anos de Android. Muito raro uma marca chinesa fazer isso.

Got an A52 5G before this phone was released, and the phone's really doing well. I think the reason this phone is priced that way is because of the software support you're getting. I've never owned a Xiaomi phone which I kept on stock MIUI. I always had my Xiaomis running on Pixel Experience because of how crappy the stock UI is. Yes, this might be more expensive compared to the competition, but you're getting software support from a company that has a good track record. There is some Samsung bloat, but you can uninstall most of them. Other than the bloatware, the experience is one of the best. As for gaming, I play Mobile Legends as well. For the first few months, my phone didn't have the Ultra settings, but now, it's available on my settings. Might be bacause the game hasn't been optimized for the newer processor? Also, the long time it takes to charge doesn't really bother me since my phone never gets below 40% throughout the day. I only charge my phone during bedtime, and I don't mind leaving it plugged in. Battery life is amazing on this device, and that's me using it at work to play games, make calls, emails, watch videos online, etc. It's the perfect phone for someone who doesn't wanna bother with installing a custom ROM to have a better UI on Xiaomis. SD card slot, water resistance, 3 years OS updates, 4 years security, 120hz refresh rate, above average camera, headphone jack, long battery life. For me, the price is justified.

The slower the charge the longer the lifetime the battery will have. Opening up an IP67 device to change the battery right after the guarantee expires because of battery degradation is a great way to lose that water protection. 100min is slow? charge it at night, runing out of battery in the middle of the day? charge it while not in use. Doesn't really seem an actual problem to me.

What makes Samsung Galaxy A52S 5G more expensive if compared to competitors is because of the IP67 Water and Dust Proof that you didn't even mentioned in this video, all of the competitors you mentioned doesn't have the IP67 rating, So far IP67 ratings are only found on the flagship phones. This phone can take photos and video underwater which you didn't try despite of it's waterproof capabilities which is the competitor don't have I know there's a bunch of more affordable 5G phones nowadays, but the A52S is segmented for certain people who needs simplicity like big brand name, easy to find service centre, One UI experience, waterproof and dustproof and a decent camera So in the end back to what you need and usually do with your phones in daily life

Long-time experience counts. Most - if not all - reviews are limited to one day, maybe one week testing, or even to comparing the technical specifications. For me, the capacity of a device to deliver consistent experience over years of use does counts even more than performance. Therefore, for me a solid Snapdragon values more than a cutting edge Exynos, which is new- hence not tested in real life. Long battery life is also a major point I look to. No matter how good a device is, it turns into a brick when the battery can not be replaced. Connections are also important - so the 3.5 jack is a big plus - I can plug in extra speakers.

As someone who's considering the A52s as an upgrade from my A70: I'm aware I'm getting a worse SoC for the money than I would from, say, a Realme. But I know I'm getting multiple years of support and won't be threatened by the American government yeeting Chinese phones for geopolitical reasons - or indeed my British one, who would totally do such a thing. I picked an A70 in 2019 for that reason, having previously picked Honor and OnePlus for bang-for-buck, and I'm sticking with Samsung again. It's this or the S20 FE 5G, and I might be leaning to this because I can pass it on to my husband after a two-year carrier deal and still know it has multiple years of support left.

It's definitely part of the equation for me, especially as I can pass my phone on to my husband when I replace it knowing it will still have security updates for some time and won't be affected if the US or any other government picks on Chinese phones again like they did with Huawei already. Can you get more for less with a Realme? Absolutely, at least in terms of SoC power. But if you want that reassurance on multiple years of support, it's Samsung or Apple - and the price competitor from Apple is already 18 months old (so it's already burned some of that update support) and has a far worse screen.

I've used Poco F3 for 10 months. Excellent performance, great design and everyone knows how awesome AMOLED is on 120 Hz, overall a premium experience. But, today if I had the choice, I'd buy A52s 5G over Poco F3 anyday. MIUI seems incomplete, and boring compared to the software experience of One UI which is consistent with updates and long software support. Samsung software UI's have proper ecosystem compared to Chinese competitors.

There is a new category slowly inching its way with SoC's becoming more flexible - the "mid-high" range category. With IP67 and 3 years OS support which other budget brands skimp on, of course you get cheaper prices. When picking devices, it's not just ALL about specs. You should also consider long-term support.

On the other hand, we have a mid range Xiaomi from 2017 thats still running fine. So, I'm not sure if Xiaomi's quality has gotten better on the newer models.

Most people will add a case which makes the plastic back as good as any. Most people will not care about the haptic feedback. And most people will charge overnight. Just took out my new 24 month EE contract and chose one of these. The only reason I chose it is because I have about 10 sets of plug in earphones and a similar amount of USB type C chargers lying around the house already so it saves buying additional products. I didn't want to use Bluetooth earbuds because earphones always fall out of my ears and then I have to pick them up whereas wired earbuds are always attached so you don't have to keep bending over to pick them up again. Plus this things reasonably waterproof and I'm a fisherman. My old phone is a galaxy a70 and it's great. I dont play games, I just watch KZread, use Google, phone and text people, use various apps for banking and shopping etc. and occasionally take a photograph. I have no idea what any of the tech jargon means nor do I care. I dropped and cracked the screen on my old A70 phone the first week I had it and it still works fine. In fact I'm still using it instead of my new A52s 5g which remains in its box set up with all my apps etc until the A70 eventually dies. Then I'll have a brand new phone all set up and ready to go the moment I put my sim card in it. I have no idea why people get so caught up with tech and throw so much money at it. Seriously....how good can a phone get? How good does a picture need to be? It's all just nonsense that we're fed by the tech companies to keep us engaged. I remember the days when the first blackberry came out and it was all over the news. I remember tech companies telling us phones with a bevelled edge were better than flat screens. I also remember the days before social media and people actually had real friends and a life.... Signed Fred Flintstone Yabba dabba doooooooo

It is a solid experience and many average consumers don't care about haptics or glass back. It has a solid camera front and back. Storage is big and ram is more than enough. We always compare to Chinese phones. Yes. Because China phone have one thing in mind. Great actually for battery longevity I don't know why you didn't mention the IP67 rating... it's splendid! Of course, I'll taste it myself 😬 The processor and 120Hz are what I really need, forget the shell. looks can be deceiving As for price... I know for sure time will prove it's worth Dislikes: I prefer the Motorola stock android feel. Cleaner and less garbage to uninstall or disable. Unfortunately, that's the trade-off. Been using the 'more affordable' competition for long now. Time has always proved them cheap. For me, it's high time I went mainstream. Still getting the a52s 5G, it's not so far out of my reach. Solid software and user experience compensates for its price. When you go cheaper with Xiaomi or Poco you'll run across many bugs even from a new device so you get what you paid for.

Bought it last weekend at the mentioned price plus extended warranty. I like it. Bit too expensive i admit but it's a necessary communication device but I wont make it my lifestyle accessory. It does look like a solid phone, specs are great for me and the large screen size is helpful for reading documents and emails on a go too. This purchase mark my return to Android after few years using 2 iPhones concurrently. Honestly, i look forward to own and enslave this device for the next 2-3 years possibly 4 if i adhere to the proper battery conservation and use.

@@Uncle_Drew0227After watching many reviews I have seen on KZread, I decided it's a good buy for a respectable mid-range smartphone. Its specs are decent, good RAM and storage size with expendable storage. Performance is very decent. Battery size is enoughto last the whole day for normal use. Device is IP7 dust water rating will protect this device almost in any weather conditions The Android OS and Knox security will be updated for 3 years by Samsung means this phone will behave properly for the next 3-4 years, that gives you plenty of time to find the next upgrade. Granted, there are better specs with cheaper options but I don't think it's really a matter anymore. Hope you'll find a suitable phone soon.

Poor haptic feedback ? I don't care, as I switch it off. Plastic back ? again don't care - if it were glass, you'd run the risk of breaking it if you drop your phone, or attempting to remove it to replace the battery a few years down the track. Another reason I'm keen on this phone is the after market parts available for Samsungs (eg batteries) vs Realme or other cheaper Chinese brands. Plus I know Samsung regularly put out updates for their phones, I don't know how that compares with Realme, Xiaomi or again, other cheap Chinese brands. It is also IP67 rated. Oh, and the A52S is AU$100 cheaper RRP than the A52 5G was.

I love the plastic back, it means it won't shutter when I drop it.. because if it is glass, then glass is glass and glass breaks!

The A52s Vs Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite Lite 11 - Wins off glass back and slight design A52s - Wins off a better refresh rate.. and just better AMOLED panel.. A52s - slightly wins off better PPI A52s - wins off more core - Lite wins off better chip set A52s - wins off slightly better GPU A52s - wins off better camera Lite - wins off better bluetooth A52s - wins off bigger battery Lite - better speaker Lite - wins off value. Do you think if the processor was Snapdragon 870, this phone would've been more worth the money? Personally I would prefer the 870 over any midrange processor because the 870 is an ex-flagship processor.
