Samsung Galaxy A32 Review - A HOME RUN for Budget Smartphones

Ғылым және технология

The Samsung Galaxy A32 might be the best budget smartphone right now for most users. It isn't a flagship like the Galaxy S21 and it costs less than the Galaxy A52 but that doesn't mean Samsung didn't back away from loading it up . What really stands out is the Galaxy A32 camera, battery life and features. But is the Galaxy A32 worth it?

It actually makes sense to include an audio jack on a budget phone, because a lot of people on a budget are much more likely to have some good old audio jack earplugs instead of some fancy wireless bt stuff.

I have a background in computers, electronics and a hobby of photography since 1975. From what I've seen the 4G variant seems more to my liking. I just have not been able to wholly get into 5G. I have my current phone set to the slowest speed on it and it does pretty well. The only issue(s) I've had with it was trying to switch to Visible Mobile. The phone picked up what signal they had, 3 bars, but wouldn't/couldn't login to their network. I even switched speeds and it still wouldn't. After a couple more failures I put my carrier's SIM back in.

I live out on a farm so streaming data is kind of a waste because I have to buy bundles and I'll watch the content more than once. My phone is getting kind of old (Galaxy A3 2017) so I wanted to upgrade to something with a processor that could handle 4K 60FPS. It's actually remarkably difficult to find out what the real-world video playback limits of phones are because most users / reviewers don't see it as a notable point. The specs sheets for the A32 5G insist it can't play 4K 60FPS (both on GSMARENA and Wikipedia's Snapdragon chart) but I know from experience these playback specs aren't always accurate. I promise you won't find a single article mentioning the A3 2017 is capable of 3440x1440 at 60FPS - but well... it is. Another side fact: the 5G version of the A32 display supports HDR10+. I only found one article and one video review that mentions that after a ton of digging. No mention on GSMArena, Wikipedia, Samsung product page etc. Another big selling point for me because I watch all my movies / TV shows on my phone too. Thing is, returns are a pain in my country so I don't want to buy a A32 5G just to find out it can do 4K 30FPS but not 4K 60FPS. And the difference is huge for me because I want to download walking tours (about 5GB per hour of video) and 30FPS absolutely sucks for that whenever the guy filming decides to pan the camera sideways. So I'm future proofing for when I can one day watch my library on a 4K TV too.

Considering this phone benchmarks in the low 500s with geekbench, it's not too bad at all in terms of performance. In fact, I would argue that the performance is pretty good for the price. The biggest downside of this phone is definitely the screen resolution. I picked up the phone for free with T-Mobile, but I don't know where you're getting your $200 price tag from. It retails for about $250 in the states unlocked.

Fun fact: this phone gets higher Geekbench scores than my $950 (in 2017) Galaxy Note 8 that I still use without any issues today. The Note still has a faster GPU and more ram though.

Tmobile is giving a free A32 5G phone if you turn in ANY phone that is not 5G, AS LONG as the phone you're turning in is NOT DAMAGED. For new and existing customers. Even if its a flip phone. Remember as long as the phone you're turning in is not damaged, not stolen or blacklisted, as long as its a functioning not 5G phone. Seems like a fair deal if you're in needs of a upgrade and Tmobile is in your area. Works for Sprint customers as well. You have to transition to Tmobile Post paid though. Yes you have to pay taxes at least. They give you a monthly credit for the cost of the A32. Say the A32 cost.... whatever a month, $10/mo or something, they'll credit you the $10/mo.

For $200 it is a good phone. But why is the Canadian price almost double (375 shown at the beginning of the video)? 1 Us dollar is 1.21 Canadian dollar as of today. 200 x 1.21= 242. So the Canadian price should be around 250. But 375 is a rip-off. Does not worth it.
