Hi Kevin, Thanks for the videos. I got the A13 and it seems like a solid phone but the one thing you did not cover is the color display. I am comparing side to side with my old S9 and A13 seems washed out and skews to blue. Is there anyway to fix the saturation and make it more vibrant? It's an issue for games and say coloring apps.

Yes my only gripe! The setting for changing to vivid colour and then adjusting it is not on my A13 5G that I just got this week :(

The phone seems ok. I just wish that it came with a charger. I'm definitely getting a sturdy case for it because I tend to abuse my phones.

My phone stopped working, it was an emergency, the A15 5G was the only phone left in the small town store, so I bought it. I'm not disappointed! Its excellent, replaced a LG g900 which I loved. Immediately I noticed the battery is long lived on a charge, goes almost two days. 5G data is as fast as WiFi. Calls don't drop like thet did with the LG 4G. I didn't realize what a pain the LG was until I was surprised by the robust performance of the A13 5G. Calls don't drop on Verizon. It has memory expansion and some models offer dual SIM. As far as the display goes, I haven't noticed and issue. However, the color in photos is true compared to what is shown in the display which may be a camera app issue.

I can't Crop and keep the original photo also. I do photography and LG phones had the Crop in the phone that worked as soon as I took a picture! Not many things comes with this phone!

Isn't this feature called the "always on display"? maybe look for it in your settings, but i'm not sure if it exists for the a13

everything he said is pretty much straight forward though, absolutely no need.

It actually supports 25 watts. That's what I've been using on mine. The only thing that I can complain about is the camera. It's bad unless the lighting is good.

If this phone was a person it would be a meathead. It is over sized and clunky as hell. Even just typing a KZread comment on this phone is an absolute pain.

the reason for eliminating the earbud port is to make the phone water resistant. Most users prefer the port on lower priced models but not on higher priced flagships.

the bad thing about the phone is you can not use the call and text feature to connect to your tablet so that you can call or text from your tablet

I use Link to Windows and Linux KDE Connect with no issues.

I have this phone and added SD card for 32 extra gigs. After a year this phone is still adequate AND it came with a C charging cord.

When i heard that it doesnt come with a wall charger it was a big NO for me to consider to buy it & a 15watt charge on it is considered a very very slow charging not a fast charge & having to buy the 15watt charger is a joke.. compaired to the android one plus Nord N20 5G comes with a 33watt fast charge blows away the samsung A13 by far...

The huawei mate 20 lite has a 60w fast charging even though it has alot worse specs than the a13 it charges in the matter of an hour or less

Seriously I feel so dumb right now. I just got the ultimatum from our IT folks that I need to replace my moto g5 plus I have been using since 2017 because android 8.1 is no longer supported. I had some reward points so I redeemed them and with the fourth July sale I got the Samsung A13 5G from TracFone. Aside from the CPU and the 5G, I really don't think there is much difference between this andy old phone. I really hate creating electronic junk but this time it is not my fault that they want me to upgrade my old phone simply because of the os. I guess I will try rooting it and see if I can install a android 12 clone on it.

MY BIGGEST COMPLAINT ABOUT CELL PHONES IS THEY MAKE THEM TOO DAMN BIG!! I WANT A CELL PHONE NOT A FREAKIN TABLET!!

I really want this phone I'm trying not to go back to iPhone after having to he iPhone 11 pro max for years now.

Reason for going with a 720 over 1080 screen is most likely due to they got a better deal on parts.

It's been almost 3 months now, it's the best you can get for $270, or at a lower price if not free from a career, nothing too special about it but can definitely get all basic things done without a problem.

The dimensity processor seems like a pro with the reliable 5G support.

So im looking at videos on the a13 5g and this video i have to agree. While it is a budget friendly phone and its display is a bit smoother, i have had some issues with thisbphone before. My data would slow down (probably because of my carrier) but it would cause my phone to either crash or restart without notice, on top of that it took super long while restarting when i had to go on the bus for work and then sometimes itll crash its OS or even apps i wanna go into! Plus i hate that it doesnt have wireless charging and it has that awful adaptive brightness when im trying to see something on my phone AND that darn fingerprint scanner can get fidgety and annoying. Kind of glad im looking into a new phone! Might keep this for emergencies considering i cant find a good phone case for it or a good trade in price!

Facts on facts

I just activated my A13 yesterday. My biggest complaint is the VoiceMail app 1) is separate from the phone app and 2) sucks. The VM was built into the phone app on my 4 year old Motorola G4, and it was WAY better. In this regard, we are traveling back in time. I suspect my next Samsung phone will need tape cassettes and AA batteries for VM. Thanks for the tips+trick vid!

I feel the same. I have set up my voicemail, but it doesn't seem to work unless my mobile data is turned on. I usually don't have that on unless I really need it.

Regarding the five worst things... MIght have been useful to point out it's only a 32 bit CPU. For those who'd be interested in trying one of the Gcam variants to replace the poor stock camera software will be out of luck. Also, surely, the 90Hz refresh rate is just a gimmick on this phone. The chipset/CPU is just too slow, my 2020 Moto G Power gets a much better multi-CPU score in Geekbench 5. Even my 2019 Moto G7 Power gets a better score! And they're both 64-bit phones even though the G7 Power is only 3GB. Shame on Samsung

The camera is terrible....the colours are not at all true.... Flashing the letter that you've just pressed is also very annoying....going back to my motorola 4....extremely disappointed....I hate this a13 5g

The display on this 5G model is truly bad. And the phone's lacking build quality, cheap feeling materials used, and dated styling with the wider bezels and teardrop selfie camera doesn't help matters overall. Those things might have been overlooked if the display was at least decent. But imo it's below average even in its budget segment. 720p? Fine. But it's washed out colors, bad contrast ratio, poor viewing angles and low "brightness" is inexcusable imo. The rest of the phone is good. Snappy enough, good single speaker, 90hz scrolling, and NFC for those who must have it. Good enough battery life. And of course all the Samsung features, themes, and apps that make it a Samsung. But even all that can't make up for the poor display. Using this phone just makes me want to upgrade sooner then later. Maybe that's the whole point? I got mine carrier locked for well under $100 with a month of service included. But had I paid the full $250 for this thing I'd be kicking myself six ways to Sunday.

Pretty much! I think mine will end up costing about $60 USD after turning my old phone and paying the bill on time for 3 months.

I think for the price, the minor flaws can be overlooked in this Samsung and mediatek smartphone

I never use blue tooth earbuds. I don't want Bluetooth in my head. It might be fine, but we've been lied to about a lot of things over the years and I'm not just going to take their word for it any more. I also don't want 5G for the same reasons. I couldn't care less about getting my video downloaded 1 second faster when you compare that to all of the horror stories the experts are trying to share about the dangers of 5G. I am quite disturbed to see so many of you being the biggest cheerleaders for it, it's causing all of us to have to buy into it because when there is no pushback, that is all we are going to have available to us. Call me a conspiracy theorist, but lately, they've been more right than wrong.

Please stop holding the phones constantly for the majority of your videos. Put them down. You don't keep them steady and it is very distracting.

This phone has so much static you can not talk on it constantly drops calls do not purchase it.

The charginging won't even charge the phone

The Galaxy A13 5G I purchased in Nov 2022 can scan QR codes with just the camera just make sure it's enabled in the camera settings.

5000 milliamps equals 5 amps I'm a math teacher in high school and I don't care how much it hurts a student or Slanders a student's GPA if they say 5,000 milliamps in my class they get a f that's 5 amps

UPDATE: My Samsung A13 5G received the February 2024 software update only to become way slower and the battery charge lasts half the time it used to last before this update. Question: is Samsung doing it to push users to buy a newer Samsung phone? To me it looks like Samsung is tricking us to buy a new phone. I was happy with Samsung phones before, I am not anymore. Actually, I am thinking my next phone will not be Samsung, definitely.
