@@aarongreene2525 The led strip never arrived! I tried to request a refund on eBay but they banned my account permanently for "suspicious activity" very strange. TV still broken 😭😭

Thanks! Followed your guide to a T, minus the part where I plugged the LED straps in and then used the end of thr screw driver to fasten down the strip. ZAP! It is May the 4th and I was empowered with force lightning momentarily.

I now believe we can do this! As much as stuff changes, it kinda stays the same. I remembered going to Ray's Hardware in Detroit, back in the 1950s with my dad to have vacuum tubes checked for replacement so our Blonde cabinet's 12-inch screen? Tv would work again. Just like the lights, a home repair. Hope this works.............

Also, what type of screwdriver bit do I need to get those screws out, once I get to it?

Great video. My Samsung the left half of tv went dark. Replaced the LED lights and the TV works, only thing now is the top half is darker then the rest of tv. What might this be?

Thanks very much for this video. I was able to tear mine down relatively easily, though tedious, following your lead. Unfortunately once apart I found that the LEDs were black, like burned out and the lens part was actually burned and melted on one side from this so not reusable. At this point not worth taking it further. So I ended up wasting the $ spent for new LEDs, and the tools. So while some of us are able to do repairs successfully, a certain percentage won't be able to fix it in the end. So just something for you to think about before spending $ on the replacement LED strips - is it worth the gamble on buying the parts? Also the LED strips I received are different than what is in my model, so double whammy.... this time. Next time I think it take it apart before ordering parts. In any case, thanks again for the detailed video, much appreciated.

You’ve given up too easily: the new leds are less surface contact than the last and shouldn’t burn the diffuser sheet as the last. Also flip the sheet for a clean set up as the damaged portion ends up on under the bezel hidden at the top. For those who end with a cracked sheet from the heat of the leds flipping the sheet presents an option. The adjustment required to get a smooth clean picture is the challenge in this repair but it points to one of the worst models using edgelit that Samsung made…😢

Do you happen to sell the Lens for these TVs? Mine appears to have cracks in it.

How do you prevent those dust from sandwiching in between the screen layers?

Great Video.. did everything and LEDs were replaced. I ended up ripping a ribbon of one of the pcb address boards which ended up ruining the whole repair. Advice anyone trying to make sure when propping up the back cover to be especially careful as to not go too deep wedging .. thata what happened to me and i ended up ripping thd ribbon..

Followed this video to try and repair my 65 inch Samsung as well and ended up doing almost the exact same thing. I believe I did everything right and then at the end caught one of the address boards on my shorts and ripped one of the ribbons 😑 did you ever find a replacement for these?

Are these steps likely to work well for a very similar model (UN65RU7100)? I cannot find directions or a tutorial specific to my model. Would love some thoughts before I purchase the parts... thanks in advance.

Hello, I have replaced both LED strips. After reassembly I have the same problem in the same place. Can it also be due to something else?

My 65 tu8000 has a normal image but the blacklight does not turn on is it a problem with the source or the leds that burned out? I noticed that the LEDs are blinking very weakly.

Does this work for model # UN65NU6070F ?

Would be nice to see a before and after screen capture.

Hello, I I have a dark translucent vertical bar on my nu7179 about 30cm wide that appeared first to the right of center and then to the far right and is still there. Can this also be due to defective LED strips or must I expect an electronic error or in the best case with a loose contact. Oh yes your videos are great. Greetings Günther

You show only replacing the 2 LED strips on the bottom, but I have missing light at the top as well. I assume that there is another 2 strips at the top of this model right? Thanks for the video

No the edgelit technology shoots light through one side - bottom through a diffuser sheet to the top.

I have the same Exact model I’m Working on but when I disconnect the power supply all the LEDS light up ! And when I slide the power supply into its position which connects with the backs light connectors it’s makes a spark on 3rd connector tooth on the power supply connection to the back light pins ! Where should I start ? Would appreciate any suggestions to rule out the fault . Thanks

What happens if someone leaves the grounding tape off??

I ordered the strips and installed them and the tv still has no light on the far side of the tv, and now there is a line though the middle of the screen. What’s going on??

Is it possible to get the correct part number for the LED backlight without completely disassembling it?

the filter frame is the worst part. I knew taking it off that it would be a pain to get back on.. have been struggling with it for far too long now.

How long should it take a professional to replace this?

I've never done it till today and it took a couple hours from unmounted from all to back on wall. Everything he showed in the video was spot on, except Samsung changed the feet brackets on mine, you just pry them off in the slit indicated. I did order a $5 plastic pry kit from ebay, the $30 3 pack of light strips (ebay) only using one, so I have to backups, and the suction cups (dent pullers) for $6 on ebay.

I tried to do this repair and cracked my screens

he never shows picture of not working and working

did this, and now my TV is dark in the center lmfao.

If youre a certified dumb@ss like myself, it will take some time to figure out there are NO CLIPS on the very bottom. Just slowly pick up the top end and push back and it pops off. Took me forever 🤦‍♂️

Be careful I got shocked a bunch of times when I did this and the TV was unplugged

Very sloppy job replacing lights without cleaning old adhesive completely off.
