Joooo this is me at the moment. My roommate was a Doom fan and recommended Madvillainy. I tried it and although i liked it i didnt feel it the same way as he did. A time went by and i listened again to the album and for some reason it was different this time. As if I learned how to listen to it and I loved every second of it. Now I am addicted to the album and listen it so many times. Also after "understanding" this album it also made appreciate other albums I listened before and like it that much on the first try.

@@RaahilAbhayMadlib still chops a decent amount. A lot of times it sounds really seamless and loop-like even though it’s chopped up. Robes off Piñata is a great example. Fake Names 2nd beat. Fallin’ and Flowers by Dudley Perkins have some dope chops.

a couple albums to hear his chopping abilities: "Beat Konducta Vol. 5-6: Dil Cosby and Dil Withers Suite" , "The History of the Loop Digga, 1990-2000" , "Seeds" by Georgia Anne Muldrow, and all his albums with Guilty Simpson, thats a start at least

No joke, I had got randomly reccomended the song a week ago by Spotify, and I was hooked, I was really digging it today and I can't believe this just dropped.

Madvillain was a weird one for me. When I listened to it the first few times it just didn’t click, I just wasn’t giving it my full attention. Then when I got the chance, I listened to it and did nothing else. It’s a classic album, for sure. All caps when you spell the man name too!

Literally my FAVOURITE track on Madvillainy, sick sample breakdown

I never get tired of the way Madlib chopped it so it sounds like the vocals are saying "get down"

This is my fav DOOM track, from the intro that just sets the mood perfectly, to the storytelling and hilarious wordplay... DOOM even uses the sample to rhyme. Absolute classic!

If you guys gave Good Kid MAAD City & Graduation videos of their own, then you should give Madvillainy the same treatment. I'd genuinely like to see it happen.

i always fucked with the way madlib sampled this piece as the sample itself set the story in place to the obvious DOOM and Viktor beef. but i always fucked with the subtle sound effects and the tidbits of the phone calls you hear with DOOM arguing with girl who cheated on him. The first few seconds of the sample and the sound effects, “I hear you in the background, whenever I call, telling your brother to say you’re gone.” To the “put your sister on the phone” sound effect in the actual song. Mannn. The subtleties and the chopping immerse me heavy in this song, DOOM was center stage to a great production piece by Madlib.
