Difference is rally track /= Real life driving. The traction on the tires can completely fuck you over, especially when you don't know the track. Not to mention, people that watch rally drivers are basically standing on the track, So if the guy was hit the only one really at fault was him standing too close. For those unversed, this clip actually ruined the careers of Samir Thapar (driver) and navigator (Vivek Ponnusamy). Despite India lacking in motorsport, Thapar is one of the veteran drivers who amassed numerous trophies. However, on that day, things went horribly wrong between the two. Ponnusamy lost navigator's job because it was he who filmed the footage. However, an opponent team's manager got hold of the footage and leaked it. A police case was also filed againt the opponent team's manager and it dragged for years but everyone just went their own ways. Indeed, funny but the clip ruined people's careers and lives.
