You always give such amazing insights, so many unnecessary things for hunting as always.! You capture such amazing footage too. How far do you typically travel to allow you to capture such amazing footage.? Australia is such a massive country.

Reg, what was your favourite calibre and projectile weight? I'd imagine there's a lot more variety now, then there was in your heyday.

Hi Sal, back in my hunting hayday when the Sambar deer weren't abundant and were very challenging to stalk because of their lack of abundance back in the 1980s. My goto calibre was the 30 06. My preferred projectile was Remington Corelokts, 150 grains. I think there are better performance projectiles we have now? It was tough times back then because Sambar deer weren't widespread and limited information about Sambar behaviour what we have today through hunting clubs, KZread, Facebook, etc. You talk to any ethical hunter that hunted back in the 1980s, and they will tell you how challenging it was to hunt during that era.

I suppose you are right! It's scary to know that some people shouldn't be holding a rifle in the bush. Our government fails to spend any money to assist new hunters on firearm/bushcraft proficiency. Old habits die hard, and you would expect anyone holding a firearm in the bush is safe.🙄🤔

I realy don't know how people confuse an animal with a person thoes type of baboons never shoot anything and are triger happy at any movement I used to know some one that would always mistake trees for foxes used to tell him your not serious but I guess he was
