My top piece of 2023. In fact, it is on my top 5 list of all time!

I was in my local Michaels the other day and they have their Lemax display up and running; I have to say, the pieces are definitely getting smaller overall... even the scale of the figures on a lot of them has been reduced considerably. I don't know how many people are actually noticing it, but it's definitely a trend. I'm also seeing a lot more plastic and resin as opposed to ceramics.... Seems like a conversation that's probably worth having at some point.

Definitely noticed this myself. I dont mind the resin since it reduces cost a lot, but I am worried the house sizes will stand out when intermixed in my village. I will probably try to alternate new and old houses so that there isnt a gradient in size as you go down the village lol. I also worry that dep. 56 houses will not mix with lemax as well now.

omg! I was at Michaels yesterday and saw the same thing. The people have less detail on the faces and looks bad. I was very disappointed this year. I saw maybe 2 lemax products that I might get this year.

The other issue I'm seeing is the lighting showing through the walls because they are too thin. It's bad on the wig building, which otherwise I thought was great.

Get the diner while you can, they were completely sold out in Canada and USA supply going down. This one is super popular this year, if you can find the werewolf figurine too that will be collectable down the line.

Hi Doug! I'm glad to see the season back in full swing. Samantha's is hands down my favorite this year. Haunted Estates and House of Shadows were my other 2 must have purchases. This was the first year I planned to only buy static buildings. However, I caved and also got the Full Moon Diner. I'm glad I did. But the wife almost killed me for spending so much! Lol. Lemax definitely swung for the fences this year. I loved your review of the witch house. Those lights really pop! Maybe a purchase for next year!

I love this piece too and I picked it up at michaels for 30% off in Canada. I just wish it were a bit bigger especially for the price I paid. All the spooky town pieces at my Michaels are crazy bad this year! $239 for some of my favs! Ugh!

Canadian prices are exorbitant! I'm close to the border and am sometimes tempted to just zip over and raid a Michaels or something.

I love how detailed it is. I am going to see if I can find it in the store. If I can blend into my older stuff that is larger before they started making them smaller in the last few years. Which turned me off from getting any thing new, as it did not match what I already invested in. Great video. Keep up the good job

This one's cute! It's going for$99.99 in southern Ontario. I agree about the finish--I've noticed too that Lemax's painting is getting a little better on its buildings (based on my short experience collecting). That craft-area you talked about, with people living and working out of their stores, sounds cool.

I went to my local Michael’s yesterday and was able to get 60 dollars off the witch house you reviewed last week using my moms teachers account and the 40% off

The porch light and the purple light fade to almost darkness after about 20 mins. And then work again after I turn back on. Any idea what that might be?

Have you decided to do a scene setter for a fall backdrop? Also have you seen the new department 56 FRIGHTFUL FOREST? If so thoughts on it.

I've been swamped with moving and trying to get things set up, so it looks like with the Scene Setters next year I'll be offering a fall one with the Halloween ones. I do hope to do a Christmas one this year as well!

I really do love this one but have no idea how I would incorporate it into my village as I don’t really have a town/trick or treat area, maybe with my Jacks Pumpkin Farm?

That’s what I was thinking too! It does look like something that would be at a pumpkin patch but I’m nervous it will look unnatural still 😅 it’s such a cool piece though. It could also be part of a little town square / downtown. Reminds me of a small shop in some of the more historic areas.

Doug, Yeah, still have this one on preorder from a third party vendor. But seriously, DUDE, share the love! Where does one procure a 40% off coupon? I went to an actual Michael's location store yesterday and they said they haven't seen and weren't aware of any 40% coupon for Spooky Town. They let me know there's only a 20% online only coupon which is the one I've been using. And yes, maybe the person who I spoke with wasn't privy to the coupon, but seriously, I scoured the internet's once Michaels pre-announced the availability date of Spooky Town and every day since. No 40% off coupon anywhere. Even the service "Honey" didn't have such a coupon. If you can share the location of this mythical 40% off coupon, it would be greatly appreciated. Love the review btw :) vgv

Another great review, thank you! Just curious though, where are you guys getting the 40% off coupon? I live in So Cal and can't find it. Looked online a few times. They used to send me a 60% off 1 item (pre covid) for my birthday (in July) and every year I would get the most expensive Lemax I wanted. Hahaha Not so much anymore and boy do I miss it. I haven't seen a 40% off since Covid.

@@SpookyVillages I called the Michaels hotline and they told me that code should not expire. They also said if for any reason it doesn't work, I'm allowed to call back and they will give me a new 40% off code!

1) I dislike how as of late, Lemax is doing exterior lighting by just gluing an LED strip to the outside of the building, where the bronze colored solder pads are ugly 2) Obviously this would go best in a "Trick or Treat Lane", but the much better options for that are from D56, and I personally do not feel they mix well. I don't mind the difference in matte vs glossy finishes, but Lemax pieces are typically much shallower than realistic to save space. This is actually good for a shelf type display, but if you add D56 pieces in you really notice it.

one question, do you have any pull with lemax or sept 56? would be awesome if they made a bride of frankenstein figurine- they made various frankensteins in the past- im only able to find the bride as a table top piece (her and frank on a swing)...

@@SpookyVillages heres a tip that i discovered, on ebay theres a guy who sells 3D printed monster figurines .. was able to get bride of frankenstein came in as grey coloured resin..i ordered and just finished painting mine… my finished product is comparable to lemax fit /finish..used dollar store acrylic paint and modpodge… wish i could post a photo.. turned out really great and its perfect scale (its a bit smaller than dept 56 figurine and slightly larger than lemax so it will go nicely…i hope they come out with a singular figurine for the bride… lots of monsters that they have not taped into which is surprising… ie: wendigo, banshee, bigfoot, man eating plant (not as a building i mean a separate figurine)…female vampire…

@@SpookyVillages our family loved the miniature village…i started with the dept 56 griswold village then last year started the spooky town… i also have the addams family dept 56 set up… im thinking of doing fall farm/pumpkin patch to put up in sept for autumn (im in canada and thanksgiving for us is early oct)

I actually don't know if this one was a fan idea or not, but I would not be surprised if it was. I believe Lemax has used non-winning fan ideas from their contests before and eventually turned them into buildings!
