I honestly don't get why some people don't like Sam or think that he is weak compared to Dean or even Cas. He's been through more than ANY of them. -His mother practically sold him before he was even born -His dad was at least neglective -His childhood was a whole shitfest for the most part -He was only 18 when his father threw him out not just out of the house but out of the whole family and he still managed to build himself a life -His girlfriend that he wanted to marry got murdered -Got back to the life that he hated(at the time) -Went to prison along the way -Had to watch people day in his visions -Lost his father without even being able to say goodbye -Found out that his father was prepared to kill him -The whole demon blood thing -Died(for the first time) -Found out that his brother was going to hell because he saved him -Tried everything to prevent this from happening -Had to watch his brother die over 100 times over and over again -Had to watch his brother being ripped apart by hellhounds -Trusted the wrong person and was used as a tool in the process -Got addicted -Heard his brother telling him that he wanted to kill him(even if it wasn't real Sam didn't know that) -Broke the last seal (unknowingly at the time) -Got blamed for the whole freaking apocalypse even though he only broke the last seal while Dean broke the first. But no one ever blamed Dean, did they? -Took control over the freaking devil himself -Jumped into the cage to save the world (Technically died the second time) -Came back soulless and did some pretty messed up stuff -Keep in mind his body was upstairs but his soul was in the cage for about 1 1/2 years. Deans 4 months in hell were like 40 years so 18 months in the cage... About 180 years -So being tortured every day for 180 years -One of his closest friends betrayed him and broke the wall that protected his mind from the cage memories -Hallucinated his torturer which lead to him not being able to sleep(shocker that one) -Almost died because of that -Got hit by a car -Ended up in a psych ward -His father figure died -His brother and best friend just vanished -Tried to build a life for himself, only got shit about it -Risked his life so close the gates of hell -Was ready to die(again) to save the world -His brother allowed some stranger to force himself on him -Said stranger killed someone that was very important to him -Got shit for being mad that his brother let someone violate him and wasn't even sorry for that I probably forgot some things but this were only the first 9 seasons. Sam Winchester is the strongest character I've ever seen and I'm sick of people giving him shit for things that were out of his control, act like he was the only that messed up or that he's weak. He is a survivor.

Facts

Seeing more of what Sam's been through, it's been a long time coming. I love the whole cast and the roles they play but Sam needs to be able to shine for once, it annoys me to no end when people try to dump everything on him like he's not Dean's equal because he is.

He's the best, better than Dean, Castiel and all the heroes. She has such a beautiful soul, tired but always full of hope and still able to love and admire the world. Dean is dead inside and angry , Castiel has no hope, and Sam is like a ray of sunshine.

You know Dean is tough but Sam has been through so much more that Dean and he doesn't get enough credit to due him justice. He's so smart and strong inside and somehow still manages to keep it somewhat together even after all the shit he's been through. This video sucked because it made me sad, and cry but it was so so so Amazing too thank you.

He deserves so much better. I wish the writers would give it more space because they left a lot to a guess or interpretation and apparently to some fans it doesn't count if some canon facts come directly from Sam, like "Lucifer never hurt him" it bothers me quite.

Oh the feels!! T.T It was so long overdue that Sam talked about what happened to him in hell and what happened to him ever since! I'm so happy we finally got to hear him say that he is still not okay and that he doesn't even have words to describe his trauma, even tho he knows that there are people who would listen. He is still so broken and urg, I CAN'T!! I really hope the writers aren't gonna leave it at that, because we definitely need more scenes like in this last ep and DAMN IT!! Both boys have been through a lot but the difference is that Dean is the torturer, he has tortured others and himself mostly. Whereas Sam has always been tortured. Everyone and everything screws Sam over epically. Edit: I meant Dean's pain is different, his suffering comes from causing the pain. That is just another kind of painful. Not less.

Sam has been through so much, and although he often seems like the brother who is more in touch with his emotions (he doesn't bottle it all up and then channel it into rage like Dean sometimes does) there is so much that he hasn't been able to process and get over. I really appreciate everything you included in this video. Sam deserves so much better.

There are even less vids about it, so whenever I get a chance to edit with Sam and trauma, I absolutely do lol. It’s something I really love exploring. Oh my goodness..... This is AMAZING! And heartbreaking, and beautiful, and poignant, and SO very well-done! Thank you for sharing it with us all. I'm also glad that Sam's trauma has been addressed, especially as something that's STILL THERE in his head. I mean, yeah, for most of Season 7 we got a taste of it with Hallucifer and all, but then after that got cleared up, they've only given him a few moments here and there to show that it's legitimately still a thing for him. And so many of them are subtle enough that they fly right over a lot of peoples' heads. (And honestly, I think a LOT of them have more to do with Jared's phenomenal acting than what's actually written in the script.) And though it was sad, I was glad that they let him show it. And thank you again for making this. It's brilliant! The music goes perfectly with the theme that you've managed to weave together from the various scenes that have been scattered throughout the show, and the voice-overs that you used to really send the message home.

Divhreaza I agree, a lot of the subtle cues about his trauma definitely come from Jared’s amazing acting. He is a sufferer of depression himself and brings all of that struggle and conflict into his every performance as Sam.

This is amazing and so painfull for me. Sam is my favourite character in this show and I was waiting from season 6 when he finally will talk about hell and Lucifer. I happy that it happened, but I feel so bad for him. He doesn't deserve all of this. And when some people start to hate him just because he made some mistakes, I'm mad. Really? Nobody is perfect. Sam always tries to do something good and always is ready to sacrifice himself for others. Why don't people see this? I still don't understand how people still have the audacity to ship Samifer. Such a vile and disgusting ship. For more than a century, Sam was raped and tortured by Lucifer. Just the mention of his name absolutely petrifies Sam, who is the most compassionate, the most loving fictional character I have ever came across. I am sick and tired of Sam being cast away to the side to have more spotlight shine on Dean when they should be on equal levels. Im sick of the way the writers aren't giving Sam a storyline.

THANK YOU!! Like, I get the whole 'ship and let ship' thing, but Samifer is an abusive ship that Sam would not be a willing participant to. He's terrified of Lucifer and has no reverence towards him or love or anything else. He's canonically been tortured and raped by this guy. I enjoy their dynamic SIMPLY because of how Jared/Sam capture Sam's PTSD/trauma when dealing with it. But I want Lucifer to stay (and continue to stay) so far away from Sam, it's not funny. At least this season Sam is getting a story, it seems.
