Chelsea and Australia striker Sam Kerr is presented with the Women's Footballer of the Year trophy, and is joined on stage by Sarai Bareman, head of women’s football at FIFA and John Cross, Chair of the Football Writers' Association. The award was presented at the FWA annual awards night at the Landmark Hotel, London, on May 25

No. Her paternal grandmother is Indian , from Calcutta. The paternal grandfather was Irish I believe. They migrated with Sam’s father to Australia.

At least Australian women's soccer elite players can compete in the International arena which is more than can be said about the dreadful virtue signalling rubbish of Women's AFL.
The World Cup will be an embarrassment for Australia & Nz. Most of the stadiums are primarily used for rugby and the surfaces will be cow paddocks. They will look disgusting and surface will be awful to play on.

@@patrickforde7684 Pathetic comment really. Plenty of the women are highly talented, including Sam Kerr. Her goal scoring instincts and skill set is as good as many elite men. He heading technique is superb as an example. Especially for someone barely 5’7’

As speeches go, that was terrific. Had a bit written, then once she got on a roll went completely off the cuff. Expressed her love and admiration for her family, friends, and club. Then just when it seemed her emotions might get the best of her, they hadn’t. Absolute tippy top bin’s from Sam, tipp, top, bins🤌🏽👏🏽
