The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

5 star performance.
i thank you❤
I guess I wasn't paying much attention when I was growing up, but after watching several Ed Sullivan reruns on TV, I realized not only did he have some great entertainment on his show, but it was very diverse as well.
This video should have 50,000,000 views. It doesn’t. That explains a lot of what’s wrong with the world.

Yes, he still continues to perform. He played a Preacher in Tales Of The City (1990's Version) and a couple of years ago he inducted Al Green into The Kennedy Center Honors. In Europe they had cult status and they bought the house down at montery when alot of Young Men were going to Vietnam.
This is an amazing live performance of a damn fine song! Takes me back to the great R&B music of my youth!

I had a friend in the late 60 s whose uncle owned the RKO theatres in New York. Whenever there was a Motown review we d go to Harlem RKO and listen to the greatest singers, Marvin Gay, Mary Wells, James Brown, The Temptations, The Four Tops , etc and dance in the aisles for hours. It was the best time of our lives……

The Shabazz....., the Black Man has not lost what you think He has lost. There are plenty of successful Black Men, many of whom weren't even born when this was aired in 1970: Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy, Le Bron James, Jamie Foxx. Shaquille O'Neal, Barack Obama, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Dwayne Wade, Russell Wilson, Chris Tucker, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, Kanye West, Michael Jordan, Jay Z, Kirk Franklin, Lawrence Martin, Kevin Hart, track stars Arriyon Knighton, and Noah Lyles, basketball players Giannis Ugo Sina Antetokounmpo, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and the list continues, as it approaches "positive" infinity.

Great show !!
All my life, I've been short changed.
Someone asked the question ? How come we don’t do Music like this anymore?? Ans.. Different Generation with different value.. ex.. We came up wanting to play an instrument.. We also watched successful artist perform and a lot of us wanted to make music like that .. Today different generation with different expierences to achieve success with Music..In those days .. You had to have a certain Level of talent to succeed .. Today … a Good Computer !!!
Did Sam say .. Come on ED ??? I would have paid to see ED Sullivan dance to this song !!
“Yeah I play sax for Sam & Dave, watch out for your eye girl, POW!”
Some serious shirt collars there!
Music today isn't apt to move you like this music. This is putting your heart and soul into your craft! ❤🎉
