Sam Carter is Billy Loomis's daughter, yes. But if being related to a Serial Killer makes you a Serial Killer? Wow, how pathetic were the bad guys in Scream VI? Even more pathetic than the bad guy and his girlfriend in V. In V, the bad guy is all "You are Billy Loomis's kid, so the bad guy dies in the end in my requel". Then, with a gaping stab wound in the guts and probably internal injuries, a gun to her head? She introduces him to the fact that he knows NOTHING about killing and surviving, not really. She carves him up like he's a side of beef, slits his throat and shoots him in the head. He is very, very dead by the time she's done with him. Strictly amateur wannabe. She's the real deal, the actual monster. Medication notwithstanding, she's really a Psychopath. The only thing holding her back is Tara, because she loves her sister, who is every bit as capable of murder as Sam. The only real difference is her reasoning-Tara kills in self-defense. But if you come after what she loves? She'll hold you down while Sam saws off your head. Sam's tried to stay away from it and deny that part of her-but her dads right. You cannot escape or run from yourself. In VI? A family of psycho's show up, make Sam's life a living hell, then decide to tear her heart out by killing everyone she cares about before making her watch them torture Tara to death, slowly. Only then will they kill her-because she's the "bad guy" here. Sam kills two of them, one in her dads old Ghostface costume, using his knife. She pauses because she doesn't want Tara to see her like this-then she finishes him off because he threatened Tara and her lives. Last big mistake he ever made. But the look on her face when she glimpses her fathers face in the shiny surface of the car, while she's holding the old Ghostface outfit? Before Tara calls out to her and she drops the old costume to go to hospital with her sister? She is her fathers daughter, she even knows that now. But she's not him-she doesn't have to be him. She's got Tara, after all, who she will no-questions-asked literally kill to protect and never regret her actions. But if she looses Tara? Then we will see something. I think we are, perhaps, being made to emphasise and sympathise with Sam before she really does pick up where her father left off. When she proves worse than he ever was... Also, I still love the scene where Gail headbutts Amber while shouting if she wants the spotlight? She can have it.
