This song perfectly fit this story. This is one of those stories where I still like the ending even if the main leads don't get together, Margo was a free bird who can't be keep in a cage and also a neglected teen this type of people are never meant to be held down,they have their own way to see the world you can't change that the only thing you can do is to try understanding them. Quentin was a timid,intelligent,schedule following,misunderstanding boy but in the end he gradually understand that some people can't be the way you want them to be the only thing you can do is to try understanding them. Though the ending seems kinnda left out,I mean yeah the way Margo behaved towards her friends will anger them but the way these people travelled this far just see her they will surely not leave her that easily.

Check out 'Gregg Alexander - Inner Child' , 'Justin Guarini - Inner Child' and 'Texas - Inner Smile.' Gregg was the original songwriter and sold the rights twice I guess with slight lyric changes by Texas in her version. So I wouldn't be surprised when the rights to even just the instrumentals are sold to other artists. I started noticing this years ago with a bunch of other songs and it kinda spoils it for me =P
