Salvinos JR Rollout Livery Camaro! NASCAR Group build part 2
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
What a week! trying to get bench time along with everything else going on here at the house was challenging.
Then we discovered an issue with our chassis glue up. the issue promised to be a big deal. we go over how we fixed our mistake and hope it can help you recognize what may need to be done to your kit.
enjoy the video!

I hope that Mrs. BG is feeling better. Living with migraines is so difficult. Glad that you’ve discovered what the problem was with the kit. One of the things that always come through in your videos is the fact that model building requires patience and problem solving which you demonstrate in your videos. Have a great weekend Bryan😃

Hi Tom, this week she is doing great! Thank you for asking. It means so much to me that you recognize how much I try to be patient and give helpful tips. I honestly hope it may help someone down the road. 😁 Is it the Marines that say; Adapt, Improvise, Overcome.
"I looked in the mirror, a red light was blinkin', the cops was after my Hot Rod Lincoln!" I love that song, along with City of New Orleans (cause I'm a huge train buff!).

WOW! Lot of detail work going on. It seems that there is alot of details that just get hidden after things get assembled. Thanks for sharing your tips and experience building the kit. P. S. I was yelling, bellows, when you were describing the dust boots on the steering gear. LOL

Thanks for another great video. Have the Kyle Larson Next Gen car kit, quite challenging. I've watched videos on the first Next Gen car from Salvinos JR and one thing to note with is particular kit is that this was ireal trial and error and it seems like they have iimproved the tooling often and really listened to the builders on what can be improved upon to build the best quality model. Anyway thanks for the demo, most are things I didn't know, saves me from mistakes too! Lol I'm sure the end result will be dynamite!

Thanks Deen!!! Still working on it!
I’m not far finishing that kit, being the first next gen there are more issues than later ones. Fitment is very precise in places, Jim Rogers does say in his videos to shim some material away on the triangle connection points on the lower transmission/ fuel tank cage for better fitting. You only need one part slightly out to affect the whole build but do build up nice. Take care

You are so right! It is rare I build a kit where a tiny issue carries forward to becoming a huge issue.

21:15 the prop shaft is too short anyway, so just slice it in the middle, glue the aft section to the transaxle and the forward section to the clutchbell. You'll never see the middle under the tunnel.

Thanks for the tip mate. 😁
I’m curious, I thought you typically assembled everything in white glue first. Would that have revealed the problems before they got bigger?
@BGsModelWorkshop
Жыл бұрын
Hi Robert, well, you caught me lol, I was so excited about this one I set to gluing and skipped the white glue. And as you said, it bit me in the tuchus! Another lesson learned. That major issue would have been easier to fix. Good catch, I owe you a cookie! 😁🍪
The 1:1 steering wheels are carbon fiber.

After 47 tries, I put the kit back in the box and I’ll figure it out another time
That’s on JR Salvino for not designing the kit to fit properly. A model maker should not have to slice and dice through tribal knowledge due to poor design and instructions
Its a shame that a kit that pricy has such failures!All these ejector marks are a big "nono" too!And as much as i know , these are not the only problems!Aaaand...so i need a 3D printer to print a jig to get the chassis right???WTF??Quality made in USA???!!!!All the details are washed up and soft!Sorry,but the more infos i get about these kits,the more disappointed i am!THX for your Vid!Surely i dont buy any of these Kits!I had been so happy about a company producing NASCAR kits!But not anymore!So,now you SJR Fanboys can lynch me!

@BGsModelWorkshop

I have heard the current kits don't have the issues this one has. The jig was an experiment to see if it can help with setting ride height. Turns out taping pennies to the underside of the chassis pan works just as well. I employed the jig to help me diagnose where my mistake was in the chassis glue up.
