@@Chaturanger lol nice try. but salvador aanchez always had that from his very first fight tp his last he had great stamina. also pay attention to his style. he rolled with punches beautifully and rarely wasted movement. he was almost always in position tp counter even after an opponent landed a good shot. np steroids my friend. just a great boxer who respected his craft and never cheated himself or the fans when it came to preperation.

He quite possibly could've become the greatest pound for pound boxer of his era.. and perhaps even all time. He had the chops for it certainly. If he were to move up in weight we would have seen historic match ups. It really is a shame how early in his life he passed. So many questions left unanswered.

Sanchez vs Leonard would of been a good fight to see. Sad to see he died to young.

@@carlosleon5684 Im not sure if it’s a one sided affair.. it begs the question how would Sanchez react to Leonard’s punch output? Or his speed? Sal would have to leave absolutely no room for error (although he very rarely did) because while Sal was an excellent counterpuncher, (i.e. the inside slip and overhand right) I believe SRL has the ring IQ to respond appropriately and nullify said counter as well as other counters. There is also the weight discrepancy- Sal’s career heaviest was 129.75 lbs against Nicky Perez. SRL’s professional career started at welterweight. For me, it could go either way. Both fighters have the proper tools to outbox or knockout each other. It would all come down to who is the man who has the stronger will to win.

@@thanasides It doesn't go either way. Though I always thought Leonard was mostly hype, he was just to big for Sal. Sal was out boxed by Castillo. What would Leonard have done to him? Not pretty.

@@constantine7382 You make good points, however we are talking about someone who died early in their career. The possibilities for Sal’s career are practically endless. Imagine if in a full career, Sal were to go up in weight classes to seek out more competition, becoming a multiple weight world champion. It’s safe to say it is in the realm of possibility, had he not passed away so young. With your point with Castillo though, I agree, styles do make fights. 👍🏼

People need some context for what they're watching. Danny "Little Red" Lopez was a B+ fighter with a tough guy's style. If we can compare him to a modern day fighter, it would be someone like "Chon" Zepeda getting completely dominated by superior boxing then brutally stopped by the accumulation of punishment. Wilfredo Gomez was the Manny Pacquaio of his time, destroying top-level Mexican champions with an aggressive southpaw style. Just like Manny, he could also box a little when he wanted to. Sanchez beat him from pillar to post when they fought, to the surprise of many, as he was the underdog in that fight. Azumah Nelson is almost certainly the best boxer to ever come out of Ghana, and possibly all of Africa. He gave Sanchez probably the toughest fight of his career, but he too was stopped just 2 minutes short of the final bell.
