Thanks for providing that link to the municipal court, I ran a bunch of plates from cars in this video and it wasn't unusual for them to have a number of parking tickets. What made his different was that they mostly were either canceled or went to collections, so it doesn't look like he paid them. Since he was a lawyer I'm betting that unpaid parking tickets don't have much impact on credit score or driving record in Washington. People that pay for parking tickets could be suckers that don't know how the system works. Not sure what's up with the expired tabs, but once again that doesn't go on your driving record or affect insurance premiums. Not sure what the infraction was for either, but it also apparently went to collections. It doesn't look like he pays tickets very often, if you could research that possible life hack for a video that would be interesting. Edit: I thought he was a lawyer, but he's actually a real estate agent.

3:55 In the same way that cars have to yield to bicycles on the road, YOU have to yield to pedestrians on bike lines, even when they're passing them to get on the sidewalk. It doesn't matter if they're not looking just like a car doesn't get to turn you into a meat crayon because you weren't looking. The fact that you expect every vehicle to immediately yield to you when you decide to ride in the middle of the street despite there being dedicated protected bike lines "because it's technically legal" yet won't extend that same bullshit technicality to pedestrians is a large reason why cyclists are hated: intense arrogance, and I'm saying this as someone who has a bike rack practically permanently attached to their vehicle. Try to be an adult and extend the same expectations you place on others upon yourself.

Several reasons. For the first two blocks, notice how the northbound (my direction of travel) bike lane is on the left side of the street, then crosses back to the right. I've always found it simpler to just street ride rather than criss-cross like that. Secondly, as bigboss said, I've grown to strongly dislike those bike lanes that are separated by a line of parked cars. It "pops" you back out into active traffic just before the intersection, increasing the likelihood that a turning driver won't see you there. This street, 9th Ave N, has played host to probably 75% of all of my closest calls with getting turned into by cars. At this point, I'd rather just bike in the street to give myself maximum visibility. It has the added bonus of keeping car traffic closer to the 25mph speed limit too. That Audi went about 45 after he illegally passed me

So you want me to continue using a bike lane that is more dangerous for me to use than to ride in the street? No thanks. That asshole "CN1" is the ONLY driver who has angrily passed me on that street in the thousands of times that I've traversed up it in the regular lane. You do NOT have right-of-way when you mindlessly walk in the bike lane, when you cross the bike lane without looking, cross the bike lane at a point that isn't a marked pedestrian crossing, or cross the road when their light is red/says "Don't Walk" and I have the green. yield to pedestrians in the bike lane? or yield to the pedestrians that are jay walking? hitting someone’s car is the easiest way to get their attention he’s using his hand so it’s not causing damage, and it will probably make said driver think in the future because instead of a hand it could be a piece of a spark plug from another cyclist, i can understand the red lights but at the same time if it’s safer for the cyclist to keep moving to get away from aggravated drivers and there is no cars coming why does it matter???
