Salt River Wild Horses - Three bands show up for water at the same time!

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Three different bands were there when I pulled up. I grabbed my camera and started filming as fast as I could. I needed 3 cameras to capture everything going on, but I only have one. That is why there are many pans to the right and left. Lots of horses all around to keep track of! Testosterone levels seem to be high lately and there was one fight that was kind of hard to watch, but it is nature and it happens. I was pleased that a few of the bachelors helped break it up. Hope you enjoy my time with our beautiful Salt River Wild Horses!

ALERT: Please be aware that the comment/objection period for the public to respond to the Forest Service's plan to remove/cull the Heber wild horses of Arizona is coming to a close on April 22, 2021. The Heber wild horses live on and close to the Mogollon Rim of Arizona's White Mountains outside of Heber, Arizona. They are legally protected by the Free Roaming Horse and Burro Act of 1971, and they live on the federally-designated Heber Wild Horse Territory (HWHT), so designated for them in 1973, their 500-year historic range, where they have every legal right to be. But these legal protections are not being respected, honored or upheld, but instead, it's a range war on behalf of ranchers who inappropriately (and possibly illegally) lease grazing rights from the FS to graze their cattle on the HWHT. That land was set aside for the horses, not for cattle. Those ranchers are politically supported by the wealthy and powerful cattle lobby that have long had the ear of the FS, and they want the horses gone. To facilitate that, they speak falsehoods, like claiming a high reproduction rate, when in truth the Heber wild horses have provably maintained stable numbers for well over 20 years (records have been kept for decades), and mathematically, considering a horse's gestation period, the years spent nursing a foal before the mare is free to breed again, and the limited number of breeding pairs in any given year, high reproduction rates are Not possible. They also claim that there are no natural predators to keep mustang numbers in check, but that's not true: Cougars take foals, as do the packs of Mexican Gray Wolves that live in the White Mountains region and along the Mogollon Rim. These horses cannot speak for themselves; they need us to speak on their behalf! We only have until April 22 to speak up for them, so please share this information with those you can. If people don't know, they won't know to speak up in time. Information and LINKS by which to comment at the FS online site, can be found at heberwildhorses dot com and at facebook heber wild horses. Please be their Voice before the comment period ends on April 22, and spread the word so people can make their voices heard in time as well.

The thing to remember about stallions fighting, is that they are prey animals, and as such, they don't fight among themselves to the death, or to injure or maim. They only fight to establish dominance, and that's it. So it won't be gruesome or grieving, only dramatic. Mares will say NO to another horse, but again, it's not to do harm. Rest easy.

The thing now is to speak up for another herd in Arizona that's in danger of round-up, despite its legal protections established in 1973. That's the Heber Wild Horse Herd, in northeast Arizona in the White Mountains of Heber, Arizona. They are healthy, and have maintained their number for decades, and are NOT on BLM land. They live on the federally-protected Heber Wild Horse Territory, a section of land that was legally delineated and dedicated for them in 1973. In blatant contradiction to this, the Forest Service under the direction of the BLM have been talking about rounding up most of them, while fences and privately-owned cattle have been brought in to this HWHTerritory, that was set aside for these Mustangs, NOT for cattle. These horses have been completely self-sustaining, both forage and water, until last year a cattleman's fence kept them from getting to the last available water during the pre-monsoon drought of May-June 2018: at least one horse died as a result. I have gathered all the videos available at the time, of these Heber Wild Horses, into my large Arizona playlist, in the Heber Wild Horse section. The first video of the section informs the viewer, as does the Heber Wild Horse facebook page, where they also give updates. Please learn about the Heber Wild Horses and speak up for them: they're in grave danger.

Thank you for doing this video n sharing it with others. I know if there was a joint effert these wild horses could go to good homes. People need to get them self some land n a couple horses. It's got multiple benefits, more than I can count.... No need to kill them.... Let's get our land back from big business n start living like the good Lord intended us to people. For the sake of your children & grandchildren ,& generations to come....

There's absolutely 0 benefits of enslaving these horses. When do people finally realize no horse wants a metal bit in its mouth, pain from the whip, a heavy person on its back controlling every its move?

Tell Arizona to catch them and bring them to Texas and release them here at least Texan citizens will take care of and feed them

Bob, They take care of themselves and don't need to be fed. They are untouched by human hands and that is the way we will keep it. They are protected by the state of AZ. We love them so much and the public will not allow them to be rounded up as many in other states are.

@@jollyoneful The Heber Wild Horses are in danger of round-up, in the mountains of Heber, Arizona. Please learn about them at their facebook page, and speak up for them. It's not enough that the Salt River Wild Horses are living in freedom now (Thank God!) >> the Heber Wild Horses need the freedom and protection from round-up and interference that the Law provided for them back in 1973, when it delineated and dedicated the land called, the Heber Wild Horse Territory, where they live. Fences and privately-owned cattle have been brought in, while closed-door meetings have been planning the horses' illegal removal.

CA Catr, I have been up at Heber to see and learn about the Heber Herd. I follow them and support them in any way they need.

@@jollyoneful Understandably, my comment wasn't just for you, but thank you for your nice reply. The Salt River Wild Horses get a fair amount of attention still from people around the world, while very few even know the Heber Wild Horses exist. We need to share with people about them. I'm glad you know, but you aren't enough, we need large numbers of people to know, to speak up for them. I wanted other commenters who expressed care for the Salt River Wild Horses to know there was a present day concern for other Arizona mustangs just 2 hours drive away. Please everyone, please see the facebook page for the Heber Wild Horses, check the updates and lend your voice to speak up for them. We need as many voices as possible to cry out for the Heber horses. The Salt River Wild Horses had the Phoenix community to cry out for them and there was an international voice of significance too, but for the Hebers?? They are on a quiet corner of the Mogollon Rim where only a small percentage of the world knows they exist. We must share, and call for the caring to learn of them. I'm sure you agree. Thanks so much for letting me share my heart for them here.

@@cacatr4495 You are welcome. I wish I could get up there more often to take video's to post. I can't go up there in the winter time with all the snow they get as it requires a 4 wheel drive. I do have several video's from my trips up there this past summer. I will check and see if I have them on here and if not, I will make it a point to upload them especially for you.

I chuckled as I read the comments below. Everyone saying how wonderful and entrancing all this is with the feral horses getting into it with each other and so forth. If these horses had a legal owner who kept them under the same conditions - uncut males fighting with each other, mares being bred every year, no medical care or supplemental feeding and so forth, y'all would be hollering about how awful it was, someone needs to call the cops on the owner. But feral horses? Wow - this is all so beautiful!

That has to be one of the dumbest comment on youtube in general. These horses are much more than fine without dummies on their back, pain bit in their mouth, whips and stuff. Supplementation? Medical care? What the hell are you talking about? These horses look healthier than many enslaved exploited horses. Are you blind, delusional or both?
