Salisbury Steak Dinner
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
www.southernfrugal.com Salisbury steak is in gravy with onions and mushrooms and is thickened with cornstarch, which creates a clear gravy. It goes very well with mashed potatoes and little early green peas. I use teriyaki sauce instead of beef stock just because I really like the taste with almost any kind of beef entree. This salisbury steak and gravy freezes very well.

Dear Phillis after all these years I can still watch you in the evenings. I wasn’t watching all those years ago so new recipes still popping up new today. What dedication and pleasure you gave and are still giving. Bless you in heaven. ❤️🌈
I'm glad these videos are still on KZread. It's good homestyle cooking, and her voice is so relaxing to listen to. May her soul rest in peace. ❤
I really, really miss this lady. She was a blessing after my mother died. God is so good.
How sweet to still watch mrs phyllis cooking one of my favorite meals.
Still oils good. God bless her and Mr. Bucky’s souls. Thanks for keeping the channel up. Stay safe and bless you, too.
Thank you for keeping these videos available. Good old Southern cooking that I grew up with during the 50s. She was the epitome of the best home economics teachers of my time. Appreciate her family keeping a channel up and running with their own recipes and adventures. She and Mr Bucky were the best.
I suffer from ptsd. When I can't calm myself down at night to sleep I will watch your videos. Your voice is so soothing.i put on my head phones and as watch and listen to you I can feel myself relaxing. Your voice sounds like home. Familiar, comforting, fun! Thank you so much. I look forward to new videos, but I love reruns of all your videos. God Bless you both real well.

Making these tonight....home by myself a lot now, so I am making these and your stuffed peppers for the freezer. Miss Phyllis, the one thing that I have to say, you are so clean !! You use a separate spoon to taste your food, even though it is just you and Mister Bucky. I used to watch this one "lady" on the food network who would always taste the food and then put that spoon back into what she was cooking. She wore all these diamond rings...and I would think..."I wonder where those rings have been before they were put into the bread dough?" I used to work at a small diner while in high school, and the owner was a super clean lady like yourself....windows were done once per week....even in the freezing cold ! Even the fluorescent light bulbs were taken down and washed once per week. Every night, all the kitchen linens were soaked in hot, soapy bleach water and hung to dry...floors were scrubbed, not damp mopped, scrubbed twice per day between shifts and at closing.. Every task had a certain day...stainless steel, syrups, everything. I have a friend that I met there who has worked in some of the most famous restaurants in the WORLD...and he still says that that diner was the cleanest place he ever worked. I learned a lot there that I have carried over to my later years. It seems like you learned the same things I did. LOVE THE VIDEOS !!!! I rewatch A LOT !!!!!
Wow those steaks are big and thick nice. Great combination mash and peas yummy.Thank you.

So grateful to God, that I found your videos Ms. Stokes. I just found you and your videos this weekend, in July 2017! 🙂 My mother and Grandmother are gone, but, now I have recipes to cook here in NC! I appreciate your country cooking and I'm so grateful for you! Plus, you have the most lovely voice! I can tell/see how patient you are....a born teacher! 😘
I fixed this recipe for the first time tonight and my family and I loved it. I only found these videos a few months ago and have been binge watching. Thank you for the recipes and the stories. You always make me smile.
So many versions, this is a simple version. One version on KZread add to ground beef Worcestershire sauce, tomato ketchup, steak sauce, black pepper and milk besides breadcrumbs and salt shown here...
Hi there Phyllis i just want to say thank you for your videos i really enjoy your simplicity & soothing way of cooking.
You a wonderful teacher thank you so much for the simplicity of your dishes. Makes for meals that are quick to prepare and easy to remember.
Dear Phyllis, I know you are gone but I want you to know that you were an angel to us all that come hear for you loving recipees, tips, advice. I grew up with a cold and distant mother, also jelous of her own daughters and she refused to teach us anything valueable. She didnt teach us how to cook, only to clean....after her. She did not teach us manners she just scolded us always. Also know that I wrote down what your mother used to teach you, directions to you. I will be using this every single one for my two sons, amd daughter. I am only 27 years old. But I do not want a home like my mother used to run. I do not want to raise my sons and daughter like she raised us. Thats is why I am so greatful for you. And for your son that has taken over your channel to keeo helping us. 💙💙💙💙💙💙
I'm a retired Navy Veteran and I enjoy your videos. I love to cook especially on my grill. Living in Puerto Rico I WOULD LOVE TO grill often. Especially on Federal Holidays. But my neighbors complain and comment about the smoke no matter how slight. I own my property and I try to be considerate. But every where I lived people complained. Their excuse are they or someone in their household has asthma. I'm not Puerto Rican and my friends from the states told me that the people here just want to tell me what to do. Today July 31, 2017 I grilled Cornish Hens with potato bombs wrapped in bacon. I did it early (around lunch time) because everyone was away at work. At 5:30PM my neighbor came home from work and was complaining about the smell of smoke. I went into my backyard and put charcoal in my grill and barbecued some Pork Chops for my friends from my old neighborhood. My neighbors called the fire department and told them to give me a citation and confiscate my grills since I don't have a permit to barbecue in Puerto Rico. I knew the firefighters since one is a veteran. He told me no permits are necessary to barbecue at home. He further told them that I can't control the direction of the wind and to stop harassing me. When I first came here I lived in an apartment in a condominium and had no problems grilling on my balcony. That's how I met the firefighters. Because their station was three blocks away. They never bothered me about barbecuing or grilling on my balcony. Now I have people near my farm complaining. But no more Mister Nice Guy! I'm going to grill and barbecue to my heart's content! Your voice and videos are a natural comfort. Thanks for posting!

Hello Ms. Phyllis, this is the video that made my mouth water. Oh how I love Salisbury Steak and yet never make it. The way you make it though really brings back memories of how my Ma did. I guess I just never paid enough attention when she would cook this to learn the recipe. Too busy doing the teenage thing. Thanks for sharing this and helping me learn how to make something I have missed so much.
my mother makes this similar, except she flours her beef patties and then fries them, and when she is making the gravy she adds kitchen bouquet to it and we usually eat it with rice but mashed potatoes is awesome with this as well
Oh my!! The best ever recipe. Just started watchig you and Mr. Bucky. Love you both and so glad you found yor way into my home! The tea cake recipe you shared, I did with shortening and I had the best dreams of my granny that night!! You have touched my ❤!!

I had no idea Salisbury Steak could be..."made"... Lol. I thought it just came in those cheap frozen boxes, "tv dinner" style. I'm 26, and have SO much to learn still.... Haha..

Ha that's funny, I know your comment is 3 years old but I never really though of making Salisbury steak either, only ever saw it in frozen dinners, may have had it in school too, but I bet that was frozen!
I just love watching your videos. You have such great recipes!
Loved it, it reminded me of my mom, good old fashion home cooked meals, you can't beat them, and the recipe was simply enough for even a lug head like me to remember, thanks.
I made this recipe yesterday when I was visiting my widowed brother in law for Labor Day weekend. I made large meatballs instead of the little meat loaves. I couldn't find ground chuck at the store that day (natch) but they had Kobe ground beef on deep discount so I splurged on that. Poor brother in law gets very few home cooked meals since his his wife's passing and he loved it. I left the leftovers for him to enjoy for another meal.
GOD bless your soul, Miss Phyllis. You are missed so much. Although we love your Son, the Colonel. GOD bless
Thank you, Phyllis! This looks great and I can't wait to make it!
I made this for the first time and it was so good thank you for your videos and recipes
Looks great, love all the onions! I like seeing different versions of this. The last one I tried used Worcestershire sauce actually worked into the meat, and it was fantastic. I'm sure the Teriyaki is splendid as well. Comfort food at it's finest!
Made this for my mum this mother's day. Thanks for the recipe!
Watching again today. I love you and miss y'all so much.

To not be working with much.. You really cook some nice lil meals for yourself.. I enjoyed your videos thank you very much..
Yes ma'am, this is the real deal. Another favorite done beautifully! 😊
I was looking for this video, coz the first time i saw this was like 4-5yrs ago. Now its on my recommendation, thank goodness! This is the best one for me 😊 thank you, Ma'am 😉
looks yummy. if you want less expensive teriyaki sauce...combine 2 parts soy sauce to 1 part honey. flavor can be adjusted to taste. half the cost, easy, and can last a long time.
looks delicious. I usually get the chopped sirloin steaks from my local butcher and use those but next time I'm going to use your recipe. It looks so good
we love your cooking
I am so happy I stumbled across your videos.I just saw the coconut cake video that I will be making with easter dinner.
Just discovered you channel. You make me so HUNGRY! My dad has been complaining no one makes just plain old fashioned food anymore. I am collecting your recipes to cook and put in the freezer for him. Thanks for sharing these. My grandmother on one side cooked like this, the other side not so much. Subbed
This is the first time I have seen your videos. I love the simplicity and the food looks yummy! New subbie. 👍
I just love watching your videos Phyllis you're great*****
First viewing of your channel. I love cooking home-style food. I look at a lot of KZread cooks, and I like the real time, no-need-for-stylizing technique you use. People don't learn to cook with all the flash -- they learn by watching someone do it. Your video(s) are like standing next to you while you cook and teach. I made Salisbury steak before by coating the patties in corn starch -- quite messy endeavor. I'm going to try this method now.
I know I'm just an old man, but the young people today should be watching and learning this skill rather than playing games all the time.
I did make this, so good. It gets a star on the recipe card! 💙
