Salisbury Steak Dinner

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

www.southernfrugal.com Salisbury steak is in gravy with onions and mushrooms and is thickened with cornstarch, which creates a clear gravy. It goes very well with mashed potatoes and little early green peas. I use teriyaki sauce instead of beef stock just because I really like the taste with almost any kind of beef entree. This salisbury steak and gravy freezes very well.

Making these tonight....home by myself a lot now, so I am making these and your stuffed peppers for the freezer. Miss Phyllis, the one thing that I have to say, you are so clean !! You use a separate spoon to taste your food, even though it is just you and Mister Bucky. I used to watch this one "lady" on the food network who would always taste the food and then put that spoon back into what she was cooking. She wore all these diamond rings...and I would think..."I wonder where those rings have been before they were put into the bread dough?" I used to work at a small diner while in high school, and the owner was a super clean lady like yourself....windows were done once per week....even in the freezing cold ! Even the fluorescent light bulbs were taken down and washed once per week. Every night, all the kitchen linens were soaked in hot, soapy bleach water and hung to dry...floors were scrubbed, not damp mopped, scrubbed twice per day between shifts and at closing.. Every task had a certain day...stainless steel, syrups, everything. I have a friend that I met there who has worked in some of the most famous restaurants in the WORLD...and he still says that that diner was the cleanest place he ever worked. I learned a lot there that I have carried over to my later years. It seems like you learned the same things I did. LOVE THE VIDEOS !!!! I rewatch A LOT !!!!!

Dear Phyllis, I know you are gone but I want you to know that you were an angel to us all that come hear for you loving recipees, tips, advice. I grew up with a cold and distant mother, also jelous of her own daughters and she refused to teach us anything valueable. She didnt teach us how to cook, only to clean....after her. She did not teach us manners she just scolded us always. Also know that I wrote down what your mother used to teach you, directions to you. I will be using this every single one for my two sons, amd daughter. I am only 27 years old. But I do not want a home like my mother used to run. I do not want to raise my sons and daughter like she raised us. Thats is why I am so greatful for you. And for your son that has taken over your channel to keeo helping us. 💙💙💙💙💙💙

I'm a retired Navy Veteran and I enjoy your videos. I love to cook especially on my grill. Living in Puerto Rico I WOULD LOVE TO grill often. Especially on Federal Holidays. But my neighbors complain and comment about the smoke no matter how slight. I own my property and I try to be considerate. But every where I lived people complained. Their excuse are they or someone in their household has asthma. I'm not Puerto Rican and my friends from the states told me that the people here just want to tell me what to do. Today July 31, 2017 I grilled Cornish Hens with potato bombs wrapped in bacon. I did it early (around lunch time) because everyone was away at work. At 5:30PM my neighbor came home from work and was complaining about the smell of smoke. I went into my backyard and put charcoal in my grill and barbecued some Pork Chops for my friends from my old neighborhood. My neighbors called the fire department and told them to give me a citation and confiscate my grills since I don't have a permit to barbecue in Puerto Rico. I knew the firefighters since one is a veteran. He told me no permits are necessary to barbecue at home. He further told them that I can't control the direction of the wind and to stop harassing me. When I first came here I lived in an apartment in a condominium and had no problems grilling on my balcony. That's how I met the firefighters. Because their station was three blocks away. They never bothered me about barbecuing or grilling on my balcony. Now I have people near my farm complaining. But no more Mister Nice Guy! I'm going to grill and barbecue to my heart's content! Your voice and videos are a natural comfort. Thanks for posting!

I made this recipe yesterday when I was visiting my widowed brother in law for Labor Day weekend. I made large meatballs instead of the little meat loaves. I couldn't find ground chuck at the store that day (natch) but they had Kobe ground beef on deep discount so I splurged on that. Poor brother in law gets very few home cooked meals since his his wife's passing and he loved it. I left the leftovers for him to enjoy for another meal.

looks yummy. if you want less expensive teriyaki sauce...combine 2 parts soy sauce to 1 part honey. flavor can be adjusted to taste. half the cost, easy, and can last a long time.

Just discovered you channel. You make me so HUNGRY! My dad has been complaining no one makes just plain old fashioned food anymore. I am collecting your recipes to cook and put in the freezer for him. Thanks for sharing these. My grandmother on one side cooked like this, the other side not so much. Subbed

First viewing of your channel. I love cooking home-style food. I look at a lot of KZread cooks, and I like the real time, no-need-for-stylizing technique you use. People don't learn to cook with all the flash -- they learn by watching someone do it. Your video(s) are like standing next to you while you cook and teach. I made Salisbury steak before by coating the patties in corn starch -- quite messy endeavor. I'm going to try this method now.

I know I'm just an old man, but the young people today should be watching and learning this skill rather than playing games all the time.
