Named Credentials option available in the setup, used to store the Username and Password. after saving password is hidden for all users including the admin

I m a fresher in Salesforce today had interview by bluvium they ask me same kind of questions i performed well 80% but he said you don't have basic knowledge of Salesforce ..... He asked me 1-2 scenario questions on every topic , i wrote trigger on contact for count still he said you lacking on basic knowledge he demotivated me 😤😤

Yes, we can use named credential, password will not be visible in Named credential

after 2020 it's changed to With sharing as per security concern....

use custom settings of hierarchical to share only the user name not password for developer

Yes, it is possible by unchecking the 'allow reparenting' option in checkbox.
