This video was honestly Soo encouraging. I'm currently a stay at home dad(laid off because of the pandemic) it was time for a career change personally and it's been a month since I started my Trailhead training. Currently in the middle of finishing my Security Superbadge. My first job right now is taking care of my kids during the day (2year old and 6month old) and to be honest by the time the kids go to bed at night I'm exhausted. Watching this video gives me so much more motivation to keep pushing through. Thank you for the guidance and motivation to change my life for the better.

  • @SalesforceForEveryone

Yes I'm sure the different locals are very different and demand for specific positions. I focus mainly on the United States and Canada with a little bit in the United kingdom. Salesforce administrator jobs are very common in the United States and Canada as developers are interested in writing code and not doing administrative tasks like building process builders. That works great when you need someone to do development but when you have a developer who should be using point and click tools like formula fields and process builders but instead they are building it all out on Apex code it creates a very hard to manage system and a massive headache for the clients. This is why there is always going to be space for Salesforce administrators and Salesforce Developers, administrators don't want to write code and developers don't want to do administrative tasks

Could you get a job without it with higher pay, absolutely, but having it is going to save you from having to answer some questions and interviews about why you don't have a certification and it's also going to help you garner the highest offer. With three years experience in the Salesforce ecosystem I would expect you to have two or three certifications but it's no big deal if you only have one and I would expect that you'll be making a hundred thousand plus with your next offer.

We have many members who land jobs in under 90 days who barely know what salesforce is when they come in, they certainly don't have a background that relates nearly as directly as yours does. @@ghostbalo I realize I missed this comment. It's the exact opposite actually. Developer don't typically do Admin work, they want to code and have a passion for programming not dealing with End Users. However with the new features to Flow, Admins are now doing more declarative development than ever before pushing developers to do more and more technical jobs that are needed less commonly. Developer are jobs are still in very high demand, but Admin jobs are just as plentiful.

Work for consulting firms, get some of the niche certifications such as CPQ, marketing cloud and field service lightning and fine companies that appreciate the certifications. unfortunately most of the large pay raises are going to require you to job hop, this is because most companies aren't willing to give major raises unfortunately... So they force you to leave in order to be paid what the market rate is.

Since the company is paying I would definitely recommend Focus on Forces study guide and practice exam which will cost only about $30-$40. Then I would subscribe to Mike Wheelers site and take his Admin Cert prep course which again is only going to cost $20/month for however many months it takes you. Want to go more hardcore with classes and schedules. Check out David Giller at Brainiate. You can do it for under $50 if you're self driven. But those are the resources I would focus on evaluating.
