What a class composition of maestro Prof. TRS.. I think, I have i listened his rendition of his own composition. He used take it as a pride to include own kriti in important concerts and invariably attempt to display his expertise in Swara Prasthara involving the melodic movement of swaras in a particular order, following a specific pattern! Here, I suppose the Vocalist knows this exercise of sequencing swaras! Gayathri is an excellent vocalist. She has a wonderful tone and has the easiness to sing very long phrased krities with wonderful eloquence! Needless to say that 'Hamsadwoni' is the right choice to vocalists for an effective beginning to a concert as it’s a cheerful raga! Its so special particularly a few sancharas if rendered without the shadja, add extra appeal to the already extant charm of the raga! Salem Gayathri can further attempt to include all TRS krities and varnams in her concerts !. Of course, I have read about her 'Shanmukhapriya RTP' in the concert at 'Mudhra’s Margazhi festival 2022' wherein Gayathri’s alapana for the RTP was brimmed with well-defined frills, suitably interspersed with long-drawn notes! She will have to carry forward the legacy of her Guru Prof. T.R. Subramaniam. Best wishes!
