Saito FG 21 hand start

Ойын-сауық

Brand new Saito FG 21, first tank (4oz.) first run (not on video) was for 15 min of 3-4 thousand rpm with needle valve at 3 turns open with a MA 15/6 prop.
Let her cool overnite, then today...
This was the second tank with gas mixed 20 - 1 with Stihl's hp ultra 2 cycle synthetic oil. Hand starts nice after 2 chokes, even cold! Still at 3 turns main needle, then closing to 2.5 turns at mid point. Very rich, lots of burbling, but nice idle and transision!

I really like the sound of a four-stroke.

Sorry to all who ask questions four years ago, I missed it. Saito's have been the most reliable engines that I've run, with os engines running a close second. But I did switch back 2 nitro. The engine ran great, I Just didn't need the extra 4 oz of ignition stuff. Also didn't like the smell of gas much

The FG-21 is only the power equivalent of about a 15cc 2-cycle gas engine, or about a .60 nitro 2-cycle. It was probably way too small for your ~1.08 nitro airframe.

Oudeis Eimi Yes, it was the equivalent of the original OS 120, which is what we had in our 1988 Stampe kzread.info/dash/bejne/faOlwcSIaNOflbw.html and I'm now building another Stampe and wanted an engine that would swing a scale prop (18") at a low rpm. Build thread in RCG giant aircraft forum.

Sorry, I'm the wrong one to ask, we decided to go back to glow 4 strokes, as the gassers add 4-8 oz in extra components. (missed the nitro smell too) So we sold it and got the ASP 180. No problem with the 21 but we wanted a bit more power.
