Thing is Carlos is hardly ever mentioned again in the rest of the game, let alone the series as a whole, despite what he did for the Saints by helping to revive it. I’d go as far as to argue that Playa in SR2 was just an evil asshole who hardly remembered him after his death. At least he ended his misery.

Even sadder that they didn't give us a proper view or intereaction with Philippe before he died. He just got smashed. I wouldn't count the Saints trying to shoot Philippe on the elevator as a proper speaking intereaction.... Fucking Philippe has talked and intereacted with the Saints THE LEAST to be a GANG LEADER. SR1 was great in story tbh and imo is the best especially when it picks up when yo gf dies, SR2 was good too but real anticlimactic, your character becomes more murderous than down so it brought to perspective that Julius and Dex had a point , then it all just stops being about gangs, I didn’t mind SR3 but at that point it gets more apparent it’s not about gangs anymore and more about the name Saints, which is why 4 was dogshit to me as a SR game, but very acceptable as a Destroy All Humans entry and whoever thought of Gat out of hell was on the same shit as the guy who made Alice in Wonderland

Its just cuz they undervalue themselves as "just a GTA clone" when the best games were SR1 and SR2. They probably wanted to stand out and become the wacky GTA where you can do wacked out shit and the story doesn't matter. That was always my problem. The emotional scenes and the attention to detail is what did it for me. But the goofier it got the less I was invested. Earth blew up and I didn't care as much as I did about Lin and Carlos dying.

I played them backwards. Saints Row 4 was a fun game, and the first one that I played. Even then, blowing up Earth was too far. Really makes the fight empty. Saints Row 3 was better for me because end-game "felony level" didn't feel like a chore (without those damn alien robots). And without super powers I actually had to get to know Steelport so the city was still fresh. Cars and planes still had some purpose because of that. Saints Row 2 came along, and admittedly it hooked me on "of the era" nostalgia. But as I slowly found more and more and more to do in the game, it quickly became my favorite. And by comparison, the sequels looked like a case of "all dressed up and nowhere to go." Stilwater could practically be lived in, with far more content, whereas Steelport could be run through and flown over and that's about it. Saints Row 1 was a necessity at this point, but only as a fan of the series. I still had fun with it, but for me it had no advantages. It was just nice to see "the beginning" of the series. Didn't touch Gat Out Of Hell. Enjoyed the concept of wishing Earth back though.

I love the way Killbane brags about how strong he is and how he will basically fuck us up and then doesn't even put up a fight.

@Jordan Carreira Because you play the boss. He/she is the player's character. But in Saints Row 1, you can't create a female character. Since Saints Row 2, you can, and that is the same story following since the beginning. So, if you want to play the whole Saints Row story with the same character, you can't create a female one from the beginning.

Saint's Row 2 is a gem

The full gravity of how crazy it is where this went is summed up in this video. From gangsters to aliens... man! Though I imagine Zinyak's death retconned via time travel. Saints Row 2 deaths are very weird; you kill them in-game, but there's a cutscene of them in tiptop shape, oftentimes escaping, I.E. Maero and Kazuo. Mr. Sunshine's, Jessica's, and The General's are the only ones that make sense and stick. And I swear, Victor's still stands out to this day. The fact his superhuman durability is actually mentioned by Julius is why the series getting crazy at the third game didn't bug me, because it was always weird, since day one. And gotta feel bad for Ben, as the coup gave him nightmares for years, possibly PTSD too.

The shooting in this video is 10/10

@@saint- in my opinion Jessica’s is , yk what they say , what goes around comes around , and it’s kinda gut wrenching when madero finds out what he’s done , it’s a horrible way to die , even for such a terrible character, but in general best death is probably Danes , fans will certainly agree W u but I’m all up for debate

Shogo’s death is pretty badass, well on the side on the saints, It is terrifying though, getting buried alive, eventually to suffocate, and while probably nobody can hear you scream for your life, just a slow painful death where nobody can hear you scream.

The fact that they don't want to remaster SR1 and SR2 pisses me off. Not even porting them to PC or whatever.

SR1 & 2. Miss those days. The customization in 1 was so good! Sad they started to take a lot of aspects out after 1.

bought both SR1 & 2 on my xbox one after 9-10 years and it’s still an absolute masterpiece.

@@VegetaLF7 Eh… he had the most painful death and at the end he was put down quickly. Dying in the pitch black, alone, quietly, in a tight box, being able to fully understand how screwed you are, that’s terrifying.

What the fuck happend with the series? The first and second game were great! Not too realstic, but enough to be good! Hopefully, they will focus on the original vision with their new SR game.

@@DonDaan11 They actually found the source code to saints row 1&2 at Volition. They say they can now work on the games again. We might get a Saints row 1 and 2 remaster, with the bugs ironed out in PC.

Volition said a while back it wouldnt be possible to port it to PC since it was a 360 exclusive but there is a emulator but it runs at like 8 fps

Jessica's death was gold. And I loved how the character says (more or less, not an actual quote): I am a fan of my work, but I am sad I did not interrogate her first. Talk about feeling a connection with your character

The reason we all love Gat is because of the graveyard scene

Gotta say, I prefer Saints Row the Third the most, but SR1 and SR2 have the most impactful deaths. They knew how to take a death seriously.
