I've been struggling with lust since I was 8 or 9 years old, due to abuse I suffered that prematurely activated - and subsequently supercharged - my libido. Saint Paisios gave me what I needed to conquer this terrible affliction, and I have been clean for the last two months, only relapsing once since I resolved to clean up my act once and for all on May 9, 2022. I'm still tempted, and I will most likely continue to be tempted for the rest of my life, but for the first time since falling prey to this temptation, I feel free of it.

My friend, i understand where you are coming from, but to say that a person gave you what you needed to overcome your sexual impulses is indeed idolatry, God and God alone can free you from your issue with sin. And he deserves the praise and worship not man.

@@theparadigmshift74 Yes, God through Saint Paisios gave me what I needed. This stuff isn't a problem for Orthodox Christians. There's no cognitive dissonance. And I obviously can't tell you what to do, but you might find that you're more at peace with others but especially yourself if you don't go around trying to correct people all the time, and consider the possibility that you don't have perfect understanding of Christian theology. I know for an absolute fact that I don't; it's a big reason why I'm Orthodox.
