Sailing The Nile To Discover The Forgotten Pharoes Of Sudan | Timeline
David Adams’ journey takes us into a Sudan we rarely see. On the flat waters of the Nile, he hears the creaking of the rigging catching the wind as river-travelers have for thousands of years. While the battlements of ancient fortresses standing on shore are occasional reminders of the region’s violent past, he is able to contemplate that era from the relative peace of the wide river.

My favourite moment was when he met the german traveller in the middle of nowhere. Exchange of few greetings and then part their ways. It's kinda how we should meet people in life , as we are all travellers. Love from India 🇮🇳
This is a fascinating journey. It shows a facet of Sudan not portrayed by the international news media. Thx 4 posting
I always love David Adam's travel documentaries, he really appreciates local culture and history. well done mate.
Your videos are the best, David Adams. Always exceptional quality and humanity.
Facinating ! I love their life. Truly, a nation of royalty. An inspiring travel. Would love to visit there someday. For now, I just enjoyed this film from beginning to end. Just magnificent!
This guy might be my new fav history doco presenter. Not just because I'm Australian
David Adams and his cousin Adam Curtis are exceptional documentary makers.
David Adams, un vrai voyageur, une vie offerte, à la découverte du monde, pour le plaisir des autres. Pas semblant !
World history is a tapestry of triumphs & defeats....however the souls ability to renew & restore is universal. Once you remove the labels that separate us you will reveal the soul that links us all to the same source. Beautiful Africa...the riches are the people & that will never die🖤❤💚💛

Very eloquently said . Outwardly, we may view the history of each peoples separately, but it is collectively march nevertheless. In the journey of mankind, one group may fall to the greed of another, yet the march of culture and civilization is renewed by another. The programme has introduced me to quite an hitherto unknown civilization in Sudan. I could never imagine that Sudan could hid in its womb tenants of earliest human endeavour in culture and civilization. I am curious to know whether these sites are declared as heritage monuments by UN.

Marvelous photos, photography, even some drone pictures if I am not wrong, and sometimes the photographer travels first, fx. imaging the train in the desert. An Italian blew the top of the Sudan Pyramides!? Incredible! Italy should sponsor a restauration of those damaged pyramids!

Great documentary. Enjoyable and educational.
I loved this documentary. As a westerner, and an American, I was truly touched by these people's kindness, generosity and acceptance of a true stranger. It makes me wonder how these people would be treated if they were immigrants into the west. Not nearly as as kindly as I would hope. And it's a shame on our western civilization. I believe they would be marginalized, shunned, and relegated to a class of people considered as less than. We, in the west, could learn about a lot about tolerance and acceptance from these beautiful, kind, and humane people.

I am glad you recognize that. But as an African, I can give you an experience of westerners welcoming me in their village in Southern France when I was a student laborer. I think urbanization does that to civilization. The more people are urbanized, the more they tend to be suspicious!
