Sailing The Nile To Discover The Forgotten Pharoes Of Sudan | Timeline

David Adams’ journey takes us into a Sudan we rarely see. On the flat waters of the Nile, he hears the creaking of the rigging catching the wind as river-travelers have for thousands of years. While the battlements of ancient fortresses standing on shore are occasional reminders of the region’s violent past, he is able to contemplate that era from the relative peace of the wide river.

My favourite moment was when he met the german traveller in the middle of nowhere. Exchange of few greetings and then part their ways. It's kinda how we should meet people in life , as we are all travellers. Love from India 🇮🇳

World history is a tapestry of triumphs & defeats....however the souls ability to renew & restore is universal. Once you remove the labels that separate us you will reveal the soul that links us all to the same source. Beautiful Africa...the riches are the people & that will never die🖤❤💚💛

Very eloquently said . Outwardly, we may view the history of each peoples separately, but it is collectively march nevertheless. In the journey of mankind, one group may fall to the greed of another, yet the march of culture and civilization is renewed by another. The programme has introduced me to quite an hitherto unknown civilization in Sudan. I could never imagine that Sudan could hid in its womb tenants of earliest human endeavour in culture and civilization. I am curious to know whether these sites are declared as heritage monuments by UN.

I loved this documentary. As a westerner, and an American, I was truly touched by these people's kindness, generosity and acceptance of a true stranger. It makes me wonder how these people would be treated if they were immigrants into the west. Not nearly as as kindly as I would hope. And it's a shame on our western civilization. I believe they would be marginalized, shunned, and relegated to a class of people considered as less than. We, in the west, could learn about a lot about tolerance and acceptance from these beautiful, kind, and humane people.

Well to be fair in antiquity many parts of northern Africa were not populated by the south saharan Africans with dark skin, but rather lighter skinned demographics that originated in the levant and other mediterranean regions. Places like Egypt and Catharge (modern day Tunisia) were not originated by black Africans, even though the modern day demographics are largely influenced by them for a number of reasons. The old kindgom Pharaohs did not originate from within the African continent and had mostly Caucasian phenotype with red hair/ligher skin...
