Saignon is a French commune located in the department of Vaucluse, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region.
Saignon, a charming perched village in the Luberon
This high-perched village stretches at the top of a hill, between the Petit Luberon and the Claparèdes plateau. Village of character, Saignon attracts the curiosity of visitors from the Apt valley, from where we can see a massive shape that looks like a castle. In reality, it is a fortified rock that is nicknamed the Rocher de Bellevue.
The village can easily be visited on foot and the ascent to access the rock is done without difficulty by a fitted staircase which guides visitors to the summit. Get ready to be amazed, because the view from the orientation table is breathtaking!
Place de Saignon and its magnificent fountain
In the heart of the village of Saignon, this magnificent square with a fountain in the middle is a charming and peaceful place. There are two statues on this fountain which represent agriculture and abundance.
Bellevue Rock
On the heights of the beautiful perched village of Saignon, the Bellevue rock offers a magnificent view of the surrounding landscapes. Ruins of an old stronghold are to be discovered;
Strolling through Saignon, through its charming narrow and steep streets, you will discover old houses with remarkable doors as well as beautiful flower-decked squares where sometimes magnificent fountains stand, including a very popular and monumental one adorned with allegorical statues referring to the agriculture and abundance.
