My bet is that he learned it from the trees. I mean honestly, considering there are still descendants of the divine tree (namely the chakra litmus trees), there is a good chance there are certain trees that have some form of sentience and they literally live standing still... also have you read into plant behavioral biology? There's a good chance that all trees have some form of sentience so it's not much of a stretch for that to exist on their planet too

While watching this, I had an idea. Jugo should go live with the toads. Since he pulls nature chakra without trying and then goes on random rampages. He should move in with the toads. They could just walk by and smack him with the stick they hit Naruto with to pull out the nature energy he pulled in. Jugo could finally live in peace without fear of losing control.

I hate the misconception that Jiraiya couldn't gather nature energy himself and need to fuse with the toads to pull it off. That not why he used them, it was merely to bypass the requisite to be perfectly still which isn't practical in battle. The toads lay still for him, and he has a contant supply of nature energy so that he only has to mold it. The is also my Minato didn't use it, Minato's preferred fighting style favoured speed and mobility.

I always thought Gaara would be perfect to learn sage mode. He didn’t have to worry about gathering nature energy while getting attacked by an enemy with his instinct protection sand guard and large chakra reserves from use to being a jinchuriki.(possible like with Jiraiya) He would use it as a last resort final attack. Making him for a good momentarily be incredibly powerful beyond our imagination with his magnet release Kekkei genkai. I would have loved to seen that in the fourth Shinobi world war. Hopefully in boruto we would see it then.

One small detail you missed about Sage mode is that since a sage mode user takes in nature energy from the outside and creates senjutsu chakra with it, it helps replenish said user's own depleted chakra levels.

To be clear, Naruto was only able to use 5 shadow clones total during Sage Mode because 2 of them were gathering the senjutsu chakra, taking up most of his concentration. He could only keep 2 of them doing this, and using more than 3 extra clones would make it hard for those first 2 to focus. Without extras gathering chakra, I suspect he wouldn’t have that limitation; in fact, during the fight against Pain after Naruto dropped out of the Nine-Tails state, he set up hundreds of clones transformed into rubble, which sprang out of hiding the instant he slipped out of Sage Mode- he had to have made them before leaving Sage Mode, maybe while he was dropping from the Shibaku Tensei.

My thought about the Toad Oil on Mt. Myoboku is that, given the large supplies of oil there, the air is saturated with evaporated oil; so oil spread on the body doesn’t immediately evaporate, like sweat or water on a humid day. Outside of the mountain, though, there isn’t any oil in the air, so it evaporates much more quickly.

Love this guy, I really do. His energy and genuine enjoyment of talking about Naruto is great.... That being said, his mispronunciation of so many words is brutal lol. That's really the only thing I wish he would put a little more work in to. It's not meant to be shade, or me insulting him. More like constructive criticism.

Sage mode was such a game changer. It's literally harnessing natural energy and making it your own. As long as you have enough chakra you're virtually unstoppable

The thing juugo has that passively brings in nature energy is called sage transformation, same thing mitsuki has to aid him into sage mode, and is another reason why mitsuki needs to get his body stronger or it’ll destroy his body.

I think naruto saying "the wisdom of age" in the most recent chapter is referring to him learning the ins and outs of senjutsu, in essence, he's learned to use it efficiently over the years perhaps prolonging the duration and increasing the power output. That, and the fact that naruto himself has gotten stronger at his base state - Naruto is still a fucking powerhouse for sure. IMO the 4th great ninja war added too many bullshit powerups so they had to nerf them somehow in Boruto, due to lazy writing. And what did Rikudou sennin even give to naruto, chakra of all the bijuu? Well he lost that before Boruto anyway and now he lost Kurama so I think Naruto has been nerfed even more than Sasuke.

Sage mode is the process of drawing in nature Chakra from the environment and mixing it with your Chakra to enhance your physical abilities. It is believed some sages existed before Kaguya and if that is the case it would mean there were technically Chakra users before she arrived

Sage Mode has somewhat been pushed aside in the power scaling of Boruto. Since Isshiki showed up honestly. When Naruto first showed up with Sage mode he stopped a gigantic bull summoning at full charge and threw it what looked like 50ft into the air, these tiny toads can lift boulders, obviously Sage mode pushes your strength beyond super human. With all of the things it grants the user, why is it being downplayed so much in Boruto? In my opinion, Naruto in sage mode with his current skill level should be more powerful now in his Sage mode.

Theory: Sage Mode is powerful but there is always a downside. Toad Sage Mode takes time to activate and requires other sage mode users to attatch to them and constantly supply them with Nature Chakra. Snake Sage mode heavily destroys once body that is why Mitsuki can't spam it. Slug sage on the other hand, decreases the user's life span causing Hashirama's early death.

I’ve herd a lot of people say they don’t want Boruto to masters Sage Mode for what ever reason @@quentinjones6877 but the thing is that it would make little to no sense for him not to at some point especially since he’s already passed all 3 of the trials and is now Affiliated with Ryuchi Cave plus even the White Snake Sage herself Stated that Boruto has both the Chakra Reserves and a Body strong enough to Survive the training. Besides I don’t know what’s coming just yet but I have a feeling he’s going to need it.

We never get an image of a perfected snake sage, so we can take his word for it with a grain of salt. I for one don't believe he was a perfect sage, given that it was such an ass pull of a move.

I vaguely remember that being the case with Naruto's clones. By having them create senjutsu chakra and just wait until they're called upon. So it seems like a sage mode user can just make senjutsu chakra and save it for entering sage mode at a later time.

Narutos Sage mode Vs Boruto/Momoshiki will be very interesting in the next upcoming chapters

Maybe this is why Minato claims he “isn’t good at using sage mode” considering his chakra levels aren’t super high so he can’t use it for too long

I believe Jugo is apart of the Hagaromo clan. Only mentioned in Hashirama flashback. It makes a little sense since Hagaromo is known as a sage.

Maybe I've missed it. Edit: I missed it, apparently he used Hagaromo Sage mode when he still had Kurama, but in the newest chapters after losing Kurama he’s just using regular Sage mode so we’ll see.

Yeah minato thing is kinds weird, he told Naruto to add nature chakra to his rasengan as if he did so himself before,but yet he's in bijuu mode, not only that he had no issues wielding the senjutsu chakra filled giant rasengan and orochimaru says to suigetsu that the only reason that sasuke is able to handle jugo sage mode was because sasuke was compatible with the curse mark already and jugo also shared his life force with sasuke before, minato needed none of this compatibility or anything like that he just does it, he also entered sage mode in the blink of an eye after loosing kurama and having a weaken Edo tensei body and as mc hammer says, you need a decent physical component or body structure for sage mode to work, and we know that even as Edo if an attack is above your physical capabilities, YOUR Edo body would tear apart but would Regenerate back, it's clear that minato has knowledge of senjutsu and can pull off sage mode. here's another thing, minato and Naruto was in kurama avatar right, and despite Naruto stacking senjutsu on his kurama avatar, minato reacted the same time when attacking juubito, juubito then blew away them both, yet bijuu sage mode kurama avatars Naruto fell on his ass, yet bijuu minato's kurama avatar stood up and look like he could have taken another, maybe you can say that it's Naruto being a clown, but I have a theory that minato pulled some of naruto senjutsu chakra into his body when he had kcm2 sage mode kurama avatar, and after minato and obito gave back kurama to Naruto, minato uses that chakra to enter sage mode and that's why it didn't take so long, this theory is a bit of a stretch though.

Okay so I'm still catching up on Naruto and havent touched Boruto yet but hear me out. Jinchuriki have a seal in their body that can contain the tailed beasts. When Naruto first gained control over some of Kurama's chakra, he stored it within the seal but separated from Kurama. Why not, uh... Spend every possible spare moment collecting nature chakra to turn into senjutsu chakra, and instead of entering sage mode immediately just store that chakra in a seal. Kind of like the hundred healings or whatever. Then its just a massive powerful chakra reserve and instant sage mode whenever needed.

I'm pretty sure the oil can't be taken out of there is because, it only exists in the climate there and once it leaves it. It evaporates

do you think baryon mode was something kurama came up with after being inspired by the sage mode? the whole eradicating superfluous thoughts and actions sounds like sage mode to me

Nailed it except I’m pretty sure minato’s half of kurama didn’t want madara in control the same way Naruto’s did, only reason he has that transformation although I agree minato shouldn’t have been able to come back
